Things To Do In Disney When It's Dead - A Trip Report

Hey Sneezie, will you please tell your boss that you need to dedicate the first hour and a half of your shift to the DIS, and the last half hour before you leave. Your JOB is seriously getting in the way . . . :rotfl2:

Oh Sneezie - enough of all that plane talk already  It makes me sick and nervous ( and sad for you too!) just reading it. I have my trusty xanax script just waiting to be filled. ( I had to go to the dr. for something else - and then told her my feelings of flying- I felt like such a baby!!!)

I am so impressed that they got you on that plane! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to more and what happens with the kids? Do they really forget mama?

thanks

Quick newbie question, what do you put in your itinerary? How did you get it organized? Because I am looking at all the info on what we want to do but wow, it is overwhelming! :wave2:

 I'd like to chime in on how I do my itinerary!
1. I go to Touringplans DOT com, click on crowd levels, find the dates I'm going, and see what parks they recommend to go to on certain days.

2. After writing those parks down, I give myself a free/break day after 2 whole days in Disney.

3. I make dinner reservations according to what parks I'll be in, so I don't have to leave where I am to eat. You can make reservations 6months prior to your check in date.

4. Animal Kingdom and MGM doesn't take a whole day to do. So I try to do these early so I can have a free evening.

Hope this helps!

Sorry I'm late, Sneezie!

Glad I could catch up because it's still early-ish.

Loved your first airplane trip story!

Keep up the good work! :woohoo:

I must aplogize for my short hiatus. I contracted something over the weekend and have been bed-ridden for a few days. It was awful!!!! I just managed to drag myself in to work today because I had been out since Monday and I felt horrible every morning that I had to call my supervisor to tell him that I wouldn't be in.

I am working on my next installment and should have it up shortly.

sorry to hear you were'nt feeling well sneezie :(
now get to work on that installment girl! :)

That's enough of that air plane talk… Let's get down to the nitty of the gritty!!!

Did I pass out on this air plane ride…… NO!

The ride was fairly stress free. I only had two novels and Farrah's MP3 player to keep me company this time. Farrah calls me crazy, but my favorite part of the ride is the ascending and descending. I don't like it when we're at cruising altitude. I told her it's because we are furthest away from land during that time.

Have you ever noticed - I'm sure you have - that people with headphones on don't realize how loud they are speaking? Well, I did know this before the MP3 player but it didn't stop me from singing "Too Legit, Too Legit To Quit" by MC Hammer and doing the hand movements, mind you. Atleast everyone aboard Flight 880 to MCO was entertained, if only for a brief while. Farrah laughed AT me. Again. Remember she's family.

FINALLY!!!! We are there!

We took our first attraction ride of the day - The monorail from the terminal. Then found our way to the Magical Express counter and - no exaggeration here - within 15 minutes we are headed to PopC. It was awesome!!!! We walked up to the ME counter, gave the woman our names, got our information and literature, found the line to the Pop Century bus and followed it to our bus. It was the beginning of the Magic.

When we got to PopC, my aunt Cathy and I got in line to check in while everyone else went to explore the gift shop and food court. Of course I asked if complimentary room upgrades were available and of course, the nice cast member said NO, and I of course said, well that's okay. And it really was okay, because I hardly ever look out a window - even if I have something to look out at. So instead I requested rooms in the 50s building on the 1st floor, if available, of course. If you're wondering why I requested the 50's building, here's why: Back when we were planning to drive to WDW, I saw on the map that the 50's building was the closest in proximity for parking. I know that doesn't matter anymore since we took a plane, but I had 50's stuck in my head. So that's where we stayed.

The nice CM asked if I would like to have connecting rooms with my Aunt Cathy's room, and I fairly shouted "NO". I calmed down and explained that the rooms could be adjacent, but not adjoining. She gave me room 2108 and Cathy room 2109 (facing the bowling pin pool). After I was assured twice - okay three times - that the rooms were adjacent, but not adjoining, we moved on.

The rooms were not available yet - it was only 1:30!! - but that was okay. We were ready to head to the park. We dropped our carry-on luggage off at luggage assistance and caught the bus to Magic Kingdom!

We were the only people on the bus going to MK, however, we were all so excited about being there that we didn't even notice.

We got to MK and there was practically no one there!!!! It was almost surreal!

We headed straight to Space Mountain and SURPRISE!!!! I rode it!!!! Does it count if you keep your eyes closed through the whole thing? My aunt Cathy rode it as well. She screamed non stop and when we got off she hit each of us and fussed at us for "not telling her it was a roller coaster".

I'm sorry everybody… but I really have to go now. I'll get back to our first day at Magic Kingdom soon. Promise.

Good to see you're up and around! I'M AIN'T!!!!! (yes I meant to say "I'm ain't) I can't breathe and wish that I could sleep for 20 hours!!!!!

Sneezie, can't wait to hear more about your first day. I STILL can't get the courage to get on Space Mountain. Too many drops for me!

It does count if you ride with you eyes closed because you got on the ride. :rotfl: Don't let anyone tell you different.

Sneezie!!!!!

I just love you! This is a fun trip!

It's funny you didnt want joining rooms!

My bet is that is exactly what you GET!

I think the 50's looked so fun when we toured there!

I'd just want whatever is closest to the free soda!

Just thought I'd let you that the next day, I slept from 5pm till 3am the next morning. I got up ate, took some medicine and went back to sleep for a few more hours - Heaven! :cloud9:

All my peeps have come by to see me.

Sorry I'm taking so long.... Life is starting to get in the way of more important things.

I'll have a new entry by the end of the day... if my supervisor stays in his office. :)

GMax, are you feeling any better?

Good for you riding Space mountain. :thumbsup2 I loved it. I can do coasters in the dark because I dont have time to worry about what's coming up next. I'm so gullible.... :teeth: I loved the part where your aunt hit you... :rotfl:

I have questions.....Why didn't you want joining rooms with your aunt? :confused3

If a roller coaster is in the dark, does it make any difference if your eyes are open or shut???

And, did they put you in adjoining rooms???

You're leaving us with cliffhangers here. Come back :moped: we need answers!

Glad you checked back in Sneezie! Don't worry, we can wait for your next installment. We do NOT want you to get fired over The DIS!

And thanks for asking! I feel MUCH better now. Today I'm going to start straightening up the house. I've pretty much neglected it since I've been back.

I'll be lurking till you post again!

I'm still lurking and bumping this up so you know we're still here! :thumbsup2 We want to hear more, but like Gmax said, Don't get fired because of it... :sad2:

We will just wait patiently, well some of us not so patiently, for your next installment. :teeth:
