:wave2: Hi, we're back!!!! I will attempt to complete this trip report quickly. We were only there for 4 and a half days so this shouldn't take long.

You can find my pre-trip report here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1190984

Here's a little synopsis of our cast for this trip

First and Foremost, there's ME, also known as I, Sneezie, Tamara, the Disney know-at-all to this particular set of people. I proved my worthiness on our last trip in February 2005, when I found the DIS boards and actually had our itinerary (all seven days fit on two sheets of paper - can you believe that?) including ADRs (PSs at that time) with confirmation numbers and Must Sees. I still have it on file and refer to it from time to time. I was recently married in December of 06, my dh is not a Disney man (he's never visited, so there's still hope for him) therefore he won't be with us on this trip - maybe the next one.

Next up, my DS, that is dear sister, Farrah, who is just as much a Disneyholic as I am, but she is more of the Luke variety. She's almost in her 30's but would not knock down a small child if they skipped her in the TOT or RNRC line (just joking moms, but she will give them the evil eye or try to skip your small child in line - so watch out for her). She has yet to stop and take in the little things at Disney, but there's hope for her this year!

DD13, Jasmine, isn't really my daughter. She's actually the daughter of a distant cousin. Jasmine came to live with us when she was about a year old and we've been stuck with her ever since Jasmine is the Luke of our trip - Luketta, if you will. She is the most fearless girl…err person…I've ever met. She thinks the CoP would be "cool" if it revolved at 65 miles per hour and did a flip at the end - otherwise she doesn't see the point. I challenged her to ride it this year for the educational aspect if nothing else. She's hoping it's not open!

DC 12, KeMarr, first time at Disney, is a Luke-in-training…we'll call her Luke - warm . KeMarr is a sweetie and I can't wait to see her face when she hits Magic Kingdom for the first time.

DC11, Kia, also a first timer, KeMarr's sister. Kia is a mini-me. Afraid to ride anything. She announced that she would walk to Disney World because she was afraid to take the flight.

DA, my dear aunt, Cathy, who hasn't been to Disney World since the early 80's, is really excited about this trip. I assure you that you will hear a lot about Cathy throughout this report. She's the type of woman who will not sit idly by and let someone just come and stand in front of her during the parade after she's been standing there staking out her spot for over an hour. And oh my, I feel for the sorry sap who doesn't move to the end of the row that she'll be sitting on. I'll start praying for them now.

Next is DC, Dana. Cathy's daughter, who came with us last year on the Ultimate Disney Land and Sea Vacation!!! We had a blast with Dana and when she heard that we were going again she was all for it!!! Dana just recently got her masters and this is her celebration!!! :cheer: (the trip, not the cheering smilie)

Last and least is DC, John, Cathy's son, John is least because he won't be with us throughout the trip. He has to head back early Saturday morning. He is a jazz trumpeter and has a gig on Saturday night!

Our flight was scheduled to depart at 7:55 on Wednesday, September 6th. I slept at my mom's house the night before since Zachary was out of town delivering a load. Also, my mom was scheduled to dog-sit my newly rescued four-year old boxer, Tanner, while I was gone so I was getting him acquainted with her house. Zachary was supposed to go by and get him once he got back into town.

Jasmine got all of her stuff packed and went to sleep at about 9:30. Farrah and I probably went to sleep at about 2:00am. I set my alarm for 5:00 because we wanted to be at the airport by no later than 6:00. It was approximately a 30-minute ride to the airport from my mom's house. My cousin, Kenya, was bringing us to the airport. Her daughters, KeMarr and Kia were coming with us. It was their first time going to Disney World - we were excited for them. We were all for chipper and ready to go on the ride to the airport. Kenya parked and we walked in to check our bags. We met my aunt, Cathy, her son, John and daughter Dana, at check in. Bags were checked in with no problem. Even through we never received our luggage tags. Cathy had gotten 8 for her group and we were able to use her leftovers.

Of course, Kenya wasn't allowed to go through the security gate so she stopped but as she was telling her girls goodbye…

Oh, shoot, it's time for me to go. I'll have to finish telling you tomorrow.

Sneezie! You can't leave us hangin' like that!

Great start! Can't wait to hear the rest, especially about the girls' first trip, and if they felt the magic!

Keep it coming!!! :thumbsup2

Okay, we left off with my cousin Kenya going as far as she could go with us at the airport….

To my amazement, her daughters start CRYING - bawling is the more appropriate word - hanging onto her and hugging her fiercely. I was stunned. These girls are 11 and 12 years old. They are always going to other friends' house for sleepovers. I had no idea they would cry like that.

We managed to pull them away from their mom and I promised her that I would take good care of them and I told them by later that afternoon they wouldn't even remember their mom's name. We finally make our way to the gate for our airline - Southwest. We got there at about 7:00, 55 minutes to wait - or so we thought….

Approximately 10 minutes after we sat down, a very nice-sounding lady informed us, over the PA system, that our flight would be delayed, in fact, it was still on the ground in Houston. She was estimating our departure time would be at 8:25. Not bad. The airplane was having mechanical difficulties. That's bad! Now, this is only my third time on a plane (flights to New York & back counts as two flights, right?) so at the sound of that I got really nervous!!! They're only eleven of us in the waiting area - the eight in our group and two people who are sitting on the floor where the lines for Groups A, B, & C are going to form. However, by the time the nice-sounding lady comes over the PA system to tell us of yet another delay, the waiting area is half full with most of the people sitting in the line. Another flight that was scheduled to leave from our gate after us boards, taxis, and is in the sky while we're waiting for our plane to get off of the ground in Houston. The PA lady actually comes on the air at about 9:00 and says "The flight still hasn't left Houston. I don't know what to tell you. I'm sorry." What? Well, at least she's honest.

We sit in the waiting room with the other twenty or so people who will be boarding flight 884 to Orlando and count the crickets on the wall. Gross, I know, but like the PA lady, I'm honest. There were eight of them when we sat down, then we saw another one jump over to them - we assumed the eight had been on an earlier flight and they were waiting for the ninth one to come and pick them up. That's how bored we were.

Finally, finally, we get the announcement we've been waiting for: They've change planes in Houston and the plane is New Orleans bound.

Next stop: Orlando International, Magical Express, and the Biggest and Best Surprise Ever!!!

Great start.

And I enjoyed your pre-trippie. Too. TFI.

So... I just have one question thus far: Did you see ZZUB?

Anywhere?

In the WORLD?

'Cause I'm waitin'. With bated breath.

Actually... since he's pretty much full of carp. I'm waitin'. With baited breath. Instead.

Cheers, Mel.

On the tails of Me(l), I wonder if you saw UMama or S'late. So, we're waiting! Whenever you get a minute, we'll be here. Waiting patiently. Kind of!

luvmyboys: Thanks for being my first and being so gentle. That doesn't sound right, but I'm going to leave it alone.

javamom: Welcome aboard! I hope you continue to enjoy.

soldiersmom: Fortunately, the crickets only had a minor part in this report - a cameo, if you will - but I did keep my feet up for the rest of our wait.

1000thhappyhaunt: Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy reading your trip report (as you know) and am honored that you visited my trip report. No, I didn't see Zzub, but I did run into another Diser. Hope that gets you hooked (pun shamelessly intended)

MomPlanner22, Mousekamaddi, PrincessV, pigletforever and Al and Kate's Mom: Thank you so much for stopping by. You make me blush!

I'll be getting to the next part shortly.
