My son just called. He would like to take his GF to Disney world for the day the weekend before Valentines day. What sorts of cute/nice things can he do that fit a college budget to make this a nice Valentines Day gift for her.

PS: He is not thinking of a proposing.

sounds funny but females that age love when they feel like their heart and soul was put into the gift. Maybe make a picture frame or collage for her dorn room. Use glitter, gems and fuzzy things. She will know it was made fromt he heart!

Purchase a picture of the two of them on her favorite ride, or have a castmember or other guest take a picture of the two of them in front of the castle, or with a few characters, etc. Then frame the best photos later(and present this to her with a single rose on Valentine's Day). A character meal would be nice, but if it is too expensive, he could pack a small picnic-type lunch for the two of them to enjoy in some secluded spot(like a gazebo at one of the resorts, or on a bench somewhere in the park). If they plan to spend the day at MK, they could take the boat over to Fort Wilderness and have a picnic there at the marina, or a cheap lunch at Trail's End(lunch buffet is really reasonable).

Great ideas! Keep them coming please :goodvibes I'm going to review them again tonight when I finish work.

Thanks.

pre-order mickey ears and have him cut red hearts to fit over the ears...personalized for the day! Or if not wanting to mess with the traditional look of the ears, how about felt hearts/pixie dust (really fine glitter) all over the cap part? It will sure catch attention and both will feel special. Making matching ones will be even cuter, or shirts. Are they focusing mainly on MK or all the parks for the one day? Asking the monorail driver ahead of time may be a way for a special front seat ride if he can swing it...if he were able to call ahead to the 3 monorail resorts, say the general gift shop in each, ask that they have a carnation or rose etc behind the counter, he could sort of set up a scavenger type thing, where she can receive one at each stop......kinda depends on how much time they have...I'll keep thinking...BTW, taking her to WDW is so wonderful in itself...what a seet guy!

I will try to think of ideas too, but I just wanted to comment how cute this is...Don't we all just loved to be romanced?? LOL

It sounds like you've raised a great son. :) I noticed that you mentioned in your post that he's not planning to propose. When considering ideas for the day, I would keep that in mind. It depends on how long they've been dating, but if he does a lot of romantic things, & uses a Valentine's Day theme, she may get the wrong idea. I just wanted to mention that, because I would hate to see his good intention go terribly wrong. I'll try to think of some more helpful suggestions. :)

I agree with tea at the GF. You can do it rather inexpensively if you do a la carte.

He could also take her on a carriage ride at the Port Orleans resort. I am not sure how "college budget friendly" that is. I think when we did it, it cost $35.

Thanks for the replys. I will pass them on to him and let him decide what he would like to do. I think the tea and carriage ride sounds really nice. I also like the picture frame idea.
