Things to do/buy before our trip

Not sure where on LI you live, but the BJ's in Levittown had a huge package of those glow in the dark necklaces. I think it was 100 or more for $12.95.

Ah, man!! I'm in Hicksville!!!

But the SmallToys order came today, so that ship has sailed!

I'm not sure whether to put the trading pins on lanyards or just stick them on pieces of felt.

I can't get past the idea that lanyards will be hot around their necks in August.

:thumbsup2 I might bring both. If you only bring the felt you can pretty much guarantee that one of the kiddos will wonder, out loud, why all of the other kids have lanyards to put their pins in. If you bring just lanyards, of course, they'll be hot and wish they had something else to put their pins in!:lmao:

I always bring to the parks a travel size hand sanitizer and some wipes. Easy cleap up after the kids eat things like candy and ice cream at the parks.

We just returned from a Grand Gathering of 21. We programmed each other's cell numbers into our phones before we left home. As soon as the planes started landing, we were in touch. All phones worked great for 10 days.

We had a 2 year old, two 4 year olds, a 7 year old, an 8 year old, a 9 year old, three 12 year olds, and two 14 year olds. None of them needed anything special to stay occupied in line. They took the chance to drink some water, misted each other, talked about the previous ride or what we would do next.

We utilized getting to the parks at rope drop and riding tons of rides with no waiting in the morning. We gathered fastpasses as we were moving in the am to use as soon as the lines picked up so we really never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes. Our one line was when we ducked into Toy Story in a driving rain storm- only time we were caught in the rain all trip- it was raining really hard so we just decided to stand in line as it was evening and that was our more relaxed touring time.

Have fun!!!

As far as lanyards, all the children under 10, mentioned previously, loved their lanyards. The only complaining we ever heard was if they happened to forget it in the room. None of our kids wore fanny packs, though. They wanted to show off those pins.

Don't forget the mister fans from Walmart for waiting in the lines. Picked some up for $2.00 each a few weeks back, great for keeping cool in the lines.
