This August we will be taking our first trip "home" to SSR. does anyone here have a comprehensive list of things we should take?

I know we;ll need extra laundry products and dishwasher soap.
Towels are provided.

Paper products, paperplates, foil, baggies? Trash bags?

What else should we pack?

We will be driving but space is still limited.

TYIA,

Dishwasher soap is provided. If you run out, just call mousekeeping.
Bring salt and pepper. Paper towels are provided but if you want paper napkins you need to bring or buy them. Plastic bags for waste baskets are provided but not the small food storage ones. If you want aluminum foil you will need to bring it. The shampoo and soap have been upgraded but some folks want to have their own brands. If you are in a 1 bedroom or larger you will receive one box of laundry detergent, if in a studio none. Any other laundry stuff you will need to bring or buy. Studios have paper plates, bowls and plastic "silverware" that can be replenished by calling mousekeeping. 1 bedrooms or larger have the "real thing" but no paper ones.

Laundry products, yes, you'll need those..but both hand dishwashing liquid and powder for automatic dishwashers are provided.

There should be extra trash bags in the trash recepticles, under the bag currenty in use.

Paper towels are provided, napkins are not. For studios. paper plates and bowls, as well as plastic silverware are provided..in larger units, you have real dinnerware.

If you want foil/baggies type things, you'll need to provide that.

I don't know if it's on everybody's list, but I'd put BEER on my packing list :)

WASHCLOTHS (if you like to use a fresh one everyday).

In May, we "went home" to SSR for our 1st time (9 days).

You'll only get fresh washcloths every 4th day & I like a new one every morning. We check into BCV next Sunday, & I've already purchased a new pack of washclothes to bring!

We also bring one of those "over the door" thingies that holds all of our stuff (toothpaste, sunblock, razors,.....you name it)! We got ours at Bed, Bath, & Beyond...of course DH picked it up without telling me & didn't use one of the many coupons I have!!! :headache:

**We also bring a small pair of scissors...works great for opening all the souvenir packages the kids get & cutting price tags off.

Beer could be my entire list. Nah, well I guess it could. But anyway

For a studio you would have to bring laundry detergent if you're gonna do any wash. I think the bigger rooms comes with almost anything you could need.

Coffee - If you are coffee drinkers in the AM, don't forget the coffee. They give you two pots worth.

Hey DaisyDuck..good news. Take your BB&B coupon and your receipt to the store and they will give you your discount. Even if it is months later.

Wow!
I'm going to go ask DH if he has any idea where it could be. Thanks :thumbsup2

we are just back from BC and the only thing that really annoyed me was that when a park closed at 2 am and you got back to the room you had to use room service for a snack or a drink other than water and soda. really needed a root beer float. next time going to make sure have grocery delivery of ice cream. could get a beer but not a root beer float.

Do the pre-arrival Grocery Order. You can find all of the order forms on dvcmember.com and then you just fax it over. This way you have a few beverages and snacks (chips, ice cream, etc.) on hand. They'll either be waiting in your fridge for you or they'll deliver it shortly after you arrive.
Don't forget coffee filters (basket style), coffee, and sugar. You can get fresh milk from your grocery order - but they only give you coffee set up for one pot so be prepared!!!

Don't forget to bring your own beverages to stock the fridge- beer, wine!

Laundry soap is available in the laundry facility for $2.00 a piece. Some bring some dollar bills there is a change machine so need to carry heavy coins with you.
I like to pack rubber bands to close bags of chips or other snacks.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Thanks for reading my mind. I was going to post this exact question because we will be going home to SSR in Aug. too for the first time. Thanks

In a 1BR or larger, they will provide:
~1 box of powder laundry soap
~1 box of dishwasher soap(you can get more)
~1 small bottle liquid dish soap(you can get more)
~a couple of days worth of sugar, sweet & low, non-dairy creamer packets
~paper towels(you can get more)
~garbage bags(in the garbage cans themselves)
~real dishes, silverware, glasses, cookware
~a sponge

What we usually bring/buy:
~Starbucks coffee
~1/2 & 1/2
~tea bags
~sugar
~salt & pepper
~liquid laundry soap(DH is allergic to powder)
~softener sheets
~snacks/beverages of choice
~breakfast foods of choice
~paper coffee filters
~paper napkins
~tin foil
~Ziploc bags

We always bring a canvas shoe organizer (especially for a studio or inn room) and hang on the bathroom door. We put everything from my razor, to deodorant, suntan lotions, make-up items, pretty much all the nonkitchen type of supplies. It really helps free up counter space.

I second coffee (coffee at Disney is AWEFUL!) and ziplock bags.

Mahusky, you read my mind! The coffee is awful - I saw that Gardengrocer has Starbucks. Definitely - bring that and filters! And the zip loc baggies! I brought those when we stayed at the Boardwalk villas and we used them for everything.
Your brand of laundry soap, and extra dryer sheets. I put dryer sheets hidden above the furniture in a couple of spots for air freshening.
Since you're driving, how about a bit of Parmalat (or soy milk, which is what we drink)?

One thing we brought last time was a sleeve of disposable glasses. I know there are real ones in the room, but if we wanted to take a beverage to the pool, or outside, it was much easier (and safer). We seem to go through glasses much more quickly than the other dishes.

We just packed the left overs in our Owner's Locker and they will be ready for us on our next trip.
