Things that gross you out in WDW!

Seeing a kid plowing away at their nose, only to pop the found nugget into their mouths..... just the thought makes me want to vomit. It's worse when the "kid" isn't so little.

What part of Indiana are you from? I'm guessing probably not one of the counties that have passed smoking bans?

I'm from Indiana, in a county that has passed smoking bans everywhere but bars and bowling alleys. That doesn't stop people from huddling around the entrance to buildings, clouding up the air and making it nearly impossible for people to not walk through it. It's so annoying.

Gross:
Unflushed toilets or worse yet are the stalls you walk into and it looks like someone literally exploded in there...all sorts of colors and liquids all over the seat and floor surrounding the toilet. Or the used feminine products that were not wrapped up and thrown into the little trash can....EWWW!!!

Stinky people...Now I know that some people may have used deodorant in the morning and may not be able to control their body's immunity to deodorant...BUT when you get into the boat for It's a small world and sit in the row behind someone who STINKS SO BAD it makes you nauseous, you start to wish some people would go back to the hotel and shower in the middle of the day... that is a long ride to have to endure those kinds of fumes!

We once saw a little girl pick up a salt shaker and lick the top of it (where the salt comes out of) at a restaurant.

Really full diapers or poopy diapers with the kid just sitting in it. Poor kid...

As far as breastfeeding... I have no problem with it, I would prefer that the majority of the breast be covered just so I don't have to explain it to my 3 year old (he would not be satisfied with the "she's feeding the baby" answer...he would be like how? where's the bottle? What is that? (he doesn't know what b**bs are yet...lol...as far as I know).
My husband however...(poor guy) say's he doesn't have any problem with it, but he says he doesn't know where to look, it's one of those things that you don't want to look, but you glance anyways..

As far as smoking...I am a huge anti smoking person, I think it's just because growing up all the commercials started coming out about the dangers of smoking and my dad has always smoked, so it's a constant "Daddy, please stop smoking" battle for me...I hate the smell and don't want it anywhere near my kids, the smell lingers on your clothes, hair and hands, it's gross to me! However, I do understand that Disney would loose some money by banning smoking, I just wish that people would stay in the designated smoking areas and that the areas were better placed. There was one outside of our room at Port Orleans (FQ) and it was in this flowery garden that the kids wanted to see, but couldn't because of the smoke, but didn't understand why they couldn't...:confused3

As far as the nose picking...that's my boys...SORRY!!! I can't get them to stop! My oldest learned it from a neighbor and the youngest got it from the oldest. The oldest is also Autistic, so it's very hard to teach him the germ concept...AHHH...They also eat the boogers which makes me sick to my stomach and I really am at a loss for how to stop it...:confused3:headache:

Another gross thing...My 3 year old sucks his thumb!!! You have no idea how much hand sanitizer we go through, and he hates hand sanitizer because it makes his thumb taste bad, so I have to fight him to get it all over his hands, but then he screams because his thumb tastes nasty...I keep telling him to stop!!

The absolute worse thing to me though is a woman breast feeding her baby WHILE smoking a cigarette. Seriously???

Ok the thing that grosses me out completely is when a ride seat is covered in sweat or water from the previous person!!!!

This thread has entertained me all afternoon LOL

Vaughn4380 Your humor is awesome!! You make me laugh.

Illinois has a state wide ban on smoking in all public places. Several municipalities in the St. Louis area have also passed bans (though a county wide ban has failed twice now I think).

I stay away from people smoking because it bothers my asthma and thus I avoid going to places that I know are gong to be really smokey (bars and such). But that is MY choice and I understand its either go there or deal with a tight chest. I choose to avoid. My dad was a smoker (he finally quit) but he was also a considerate smoker and stopped smoking anywhere around me when I was diagnosed with asthma (not that he openly smoked around me much otherwise) including to cease smoking in his own house (he smoked in the garage and outside)

I consider St. Louis A LOT more progressive than my sleepy little town! ;) We were talking about places in Indiana that haven't banned it. I was making the statement that since FL is full of midwestern retirees, a smoking ban is highly unlike IMO!!

I think we would have a huge improvement in the smoking in public places debate if a lot of people would try to be considerate of non-smokers (like your dad). Unfortunately, it's not always the case. :rolleyes2:

There are lots of businesses around here, especially restaurants that have chosen to go smoke free

My town went smoke free in family establishments, but clubs and bars that are 21 and up are not.

One more thing that grosses me out and I cant believe noone has said this but the handle in the middle of the Kali river rapids Tubes they are covered with Green/Black slimy stuff Hope they fix that.

never seen it happen, but you know it has......

Being trapped on mission space why someone vomits.
This is the main reason i will NEVER ride it again!

This happened to DH, the guy next to him hurled, and DHrode twice more that trip Ewww

I hate dirty exposed bra straps. I don't care is a little strap shows in your tank top, but for god sakes when you can tell the bra should be white, and it is now gray with black flecks than I don't want to see it! Blech! I stood behind this gross lady in line for the Wishes Dessert Party Check in and thought it was the nastiest thing I saw all week.

Good point. Next time I'm going to sit at the Poly with a keg of Keystone Light, and of course will be using my resort mug to drink it while enjoying the poolside atmosphere of a resort I'm not staying at.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
:lmao::lmao::lmao: :thumbsup2 (you forgot to mention it was the resort mug you bought last year... ;) )

Sounds like Howard County!

I think we've found a winner.
PP forgot to mention the breast-feeding smoker had a six pack in the diaper bag! :rotfl2:

I cannot believe I have read through every one of these posts. I have had my stomach contents lurch upwards some but have not hurled any. However, some of these last few comments almost took the cake...

Ok...first of all, I keep a very tight leash on my germophobia but this thread is going to send me to therapy!! Anything having to do with snot/buggars (gagging while typing) makes me want to hurl!

But I have to say one of the most disgusting/disturbing things I have ever seen I saw at WDW in 2007. DH, 2 DDs and I were on the bus to DTD and the bus was really crowded. All four of us had to sit in two seats with our umbrella stroller laid across our double laps. In front of us are two guys in their early 20s. Upon closer inspection I notice that they are slightly unkempt and dirty (looked like they hadn't showered in a day or five) but that's fine, whatever. Then I see "them":scared:. About 10-15 live lice crawling all over the head and neck of the guy directly in front of me. Anyone that has ever had a kid come home with lice and has spent HOURS picking nits out of long hair while that child cries because they have to sit still for so long and then spend more hours delousing your home and car knows exactly what I mean when I say that was the longest bus ride of my life. I must have done 4 head checks that night on my family! It was absolutely nasty.

I vote for this one as the winner :sick:

It grosses me out to see people eating from their plate while still walking around the buffet. I want to say sooooo badly "Sit down and eat. You can get more later."
I also wonder why parents insist on staying in line when their child has pooped her diaper :confused3 We waited for another boat at PotC b/c I couldn't take anymore stinch after being behind them in line.

this is the first thing that really made me cringe. I hate those notes that come home from school that say a child in your son's class has lice. Great....I'm paranoid for weeks and my head itches just thinking about it.

OMG....you are the winner. That has to be one of the grossest things I've ever read.

Wait....why does my scalp suddenly feel REALLY itchy? :rotfl:

As to the smoking issue, I have always smoked in the designated areas of the park. If I don't know if an area is designated as such, for example, outside of a restaurant or at a resort where they may not be clearly marked, I always asked a CM where I was allowed to light up.

I don't think Disney will ban it from the parks. I'll be honest and say that I would be very upset if they did.

I would just ask all the smokers out there to please stick to the designated areas to enjoy your cigarette! And non-smokers, please don't yell at me for smoking if you happen to be walking through/sitting in a designated smoking area! Thank you!:)

Ok Im still itching from the lice thing,lol...wow that would have made me freak out for sure, lol
I haven't had the pleasure of reading all the responses, will do that later tonight but wanted to say the grossest thing I see every time I go to Disney is people letting ANYTHING be on the bathroom stall floor, purses, their pants dropped to the floor, their CHILDREN!, THEIR FOOD!!!
As another PP said, some of those stalls look like people exploded in them , ACK!!!!!
But to let things and your kids roll on the floor, or putting your purse down on the floor, or your drink?
I think that has to be the grossest. Yea Ive seen kids lick things, or people who look like they are making out with the water fountain, and I havent used a fountain since I taught middle school years ago. To think how many mouths touched the spout and the water that comes out to go to your mouth runs right over it , mmmmmmmm yum! lol
But my vote is officially for the people who put things on the bathroom floor like they are at home....YUCKO!!!!!

A few years ago in Toontown, my kids were playing in the Donald Duck boat/water play area. I passed a little girl, maybe nine or ten, in a bathing suit, pulled to one side so she could pee/clean herself in the water jets outside of the boat. Where were her parents?

LOL at this thread but I got one I haven't read:

You're eating at a restaurant, you see the buser come over & wipe down the table THEN use the same cloth to wipe down the seats.

Then the next table, they are wiping down the table with the same cloth they just wiped the last table's seats. So all the butts, diapers & who knows what germs are on the seats are now being SPREAD on the next table they wipe down...EEEWWWW

My 80-something grandma has pointed this out so often my husband & I now notice it. But every buser to manager we've ever pointed this out to looks at us like we are germophobics. Maybe we are.

But unless there is a clean tablecloth or paper placemat on the table, I'm grabbing extra napkins using them for placemats at every restaurant I eat at - I've even trained DS to do this!

my personal favorite disgusting thing....

people wearing those belling shirts and those low-waisted bottoms (forgive me, i'm a guy and don't know what those styles are called) that have no business wearing them, ugh! sorry, but like it or not, they are meant for skinny people.
As Jeff Foxworthy says, "The only people who should be allowed to wear belly shirts, are the ones who don't have one."

:headache::headache::headache:Must...not....read....this....thread....must...not....read...this......thread....must....resist....must....resist....OK, maybe just one page!!!! OHHHHH! Why did I do it?
