We just got off the Dream Friday, the most amazing trip we've taken!

As a Disney World veteran, I love to do my research and like to know everything so we don't miss the magic!

Here are some of the things I didn't read about but noticed.

1. The tip of the toilet paper in freshly cleaned bathrooms is folded in to a fancy triangle! May be a small thing, but I loved this.

2. Standing on our Verandah watching the beautiful blue water as we sailed the ocean was the most peaceful feeling I've ever felt. Wake up for the sun rise at least one morning, it's worth missing the sleep!

3.The days are filled with so many activities that they are llllooonnnggg. Sometimes when we went to bed I felt like I had been awake for days.

4. I got the best sleep of my life! I think it was a mixture of the amazing bedding and the slight rocking of the boat.

5. The muster drill is very uncomfortable and seems to go on forever! I hated being squished together in a large group, having to cover our ears due to loud siren. I feel like there could be a better way to organize this.

6. Not having wifi or cell service allowed me to forget all my worries and truly enjoy our vacation.

7. You feel like royalty when your server cuts your food up for you, and lays your napkin in your lap at every meal. Disney service at its best.

8. We booked port adventures, but found we would have been happier just enjoying the ship in Nassau.

9. The snorkeling lagoon on Cast Away Cay was much more wide spread than I had expected, we were worn out half way in.

10. Next time I would save the snorkeling Lagoon on Cast Away Cay for last. We were so tired from it that we didn't enjoy the rest of our time on the island as much as we could have.

11. I love Disney shops, and sadly found the shops on the Dream and Cast Away Cay to be lacking in variety and in items. They could have made more money off of me, ha.

12. The outlets, switches, and knobs in the cabin took some figuring out. And the universal outlets threw me off until my husband told me how they worked.

13. The public area bathrooms are beautifully designed!

I'm sure there is more I'm missing.
What were you surprised at after your first cruise?

This is why we cruise! You put it beautifully.

I also agree with the feeling that there is so much packed into a day (in a good way). I remember thinking on our last cruise during the first night when we were leaving the theatre at the end of the show that I couldn't believe it was only the first day!

I also appreciate the gorgeous public restrooms. I've taken pix of some (is that weird?). Lol

Glad you had a great trip!

I do this in my own house :rotfl:

Couldn't agree more with this!!!

And I took Bathroom pictures too...but they aren't on my phone so I can't upload them now ha!

Now see, these are two of my top 10 reasons why I love cruising that I cannot seem to make others who haven't cruised understand! The views of a flat ocean with no obstructions and stars that go on forever without city lights or buildings obstructing them, sunsets and sunrises that fill the sky, not to mention all the sea life you might see -- it's just do mindnumbingly relaxing. Oh, and the gloriously fresh air! And the beds -- don't even get me started! If I could fit them in my suitcase and take them home, I would :rotfl2:

If the muster drill bothers you that much you could get a room where the muster drill you go in the Walt disney theatre or a dining area.

I love those -- so much more relaxing and cooler.

Almost all of those things you appreciate = cruising in general. Once you realize that, the world of cruising is open to you (and so is saving money).

Loud alarms have to happen. We have to know what it sounds like. Bring earplugs and put them in before the alarms sound. I sleep with earplugs so a middle of the night emergency would involve them anyway. And you can still hear the noise with earplugs. Just doesn't hurt. Squashing in is dependent on muster station. Dcl doesnt change stations so find a thread that mentions rooms and stations, and book based on that.

7. You feel like royalty when your server cuts your food up for you, and lays your napkin in your lap at every meal. Disney service at its best.

I cannot stand that level of "service". You say royalty; I say "am I an infant?" and would glare. Thankfully no server anywhere has ever attempted to cut up my food. Either they can tell I might stab them or they realize that vegetarian food rainy really require an effort to cut. And we started cruising after DS was old enough to manage food on his own so I'm not the typical harried mom who needs help.

The napkin thing I deal with. Same with pushing in my chair. Seriously, why do servers do this? (I assume because many people like it, which I just don't get)

Good read...thanks for the feedback.

regarding this...I think the reason snorkeling is so recommended first thing in the morning is because thats when it is the most clear. You're going to see alot more first thing than you would just before you head back on the ship.

In 10 disney cruises, I have never had a server cut up my food! :confused3 I wouldn't like it if they did though!

That's what we were told -- clearer and more fish before all the swimmers and splashers scare them away.
