We just got back from our week long stay at disneyland and I learned some interesting things, here they are in no particular oder.
1) I met a fellow Dis'er! We ended up being next to each other at the ride max recommended spot to view the parade of dreams. My hubby called me crazy but finally agreed that I don't spend too much time on the Dis boards, because it really helped us out on our trip
2) My children are thrill ride lovers
On previous trips my oldest didn't wanna do any bigger rides & the youngest couldn't. We got my oldest on ToT & he swore never again. This trip he went on it 5 times! He says it is his 2nd favorite DCA ride, Soarin' being #1. For my youngest son's b-day he rode ToT and LOVED it! oh no what will I do, ToT scares me & I could only do it once
3) We splurged on this trip and ate out quite a bit:
WE LOVED the Lilo & Stitch breakfast, the food was good, it was quiet & the character interaction was amazing, they spent plenty of time with the kids, did dances, all of the characters that were out, Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, Minnie and Daisy, sat at our table and entertained the kids, definitely worth the walk to PPH!
Minnie & friends breakfast was not so good
There were tons of characters but the food was bland compared to Lilo & Stitch's. Characters seen: Minnie, Max, Tigger, Captain Hook, Pinnochio, Fairy Godmother, and Chip.
Blue Bayou: Hubby & I loved the Monte Cristo, although next time I think I will get mine without the turkey since it's not a fav of mine. I made reservations for 3pm because I was told dinner started at 4pm and wanted to try it out with the cheaper lunch prices...well at 3 they were charging the dinner prices but oh well, next time we may just do cafe orleans for those yummy delights.
Dole whips: had one, it'll be skipped next trip
Whitewater snacks was great! Loved the chicken nachos! definitely enough food to split, + it was nice to be able to sit indoors and get free drink refills hehe.
4) Crocs! dh & I purchased a pair of them on our 3rd day. I regret not getting them before the trip or on our first day, I had massive blisters by then and ended up getting an ecv on our last 2 days simply because walking hurt too much. They will be the only shoes we take on the next trip & I will be getting a pair of each of my kids too!
5) Don't push your luck at DL. While we knew that the weather for our stay was going to be partially cloudy we were willing to chance it in order to ride most of everything (some things 4+ times). On the day we checked out of the hotel me & hubby said hey lets hit a few more rides before heading home, it had started to drizzle but we all had coats so we figured how bad could it be for a few hours. By the time we got off our first ride we had to get those lovely mickey ponchos
to keep from getting soaked, we did 4 more rides and said this is crazy & we left. Dh & I agreed that we'll take slightly more people & less rain for the next trips lol
6) Carousel Inn was a really nice stay, the standard rooms are not huge but they are nicely decorated, always clean upon our return and the staff was excellent. It was too cold to try out the pool & the breakfast was ok; oatmeal, boiled eggs, toast, juice, coffee, croissants, oranges, donuts. My only gripe was the tv, the channels we did have were poor picture quality and the sound was messed up on several of them. We'd definitely stay again
