Things I learned during this trip!

I don't remember flavored creamers, you may want to bring your own. Just remember unless you ask for a mini fridge in your room, it will not have one.

I thought all your mod and deluxe rooms come with a mini frig. Do you have to ask?:confused3
I'm also flying southwest and would like more infor on the check-in from the PP. Thanks!:goodvibes

Please note that the mini fridge will cost $10 a day if you are staying in a value.
Delux and Mods do have fridges in the room

Early Bird Check in through Southwest ~
When you are making your reservations when you get close to the time that you need to enter your payment options they ask if you would like to add on Early Bird Check in. I have used it a few times for my Boss' business travel and it is a really great option. Basically for $10 each leg you are automatically checked in by Southwest, thereby getting "A" seating, vs, trying to be the first one to check in the normal 24 hours before then and getting "B" seating. You can take it or leave it dependent on what you are comfortable with but it is a nice option to have instead of buying a more expensive ticket.;)

We did early bird check in for this last trip. I personally enjoyed it, expecially on our flight out of Florida. I didn't have to worry about the 24 hour check in and could enjoy my day in the park. We were in group A for both the flight down and back.

Also, for your flight out of Florida, you can check your bags in at the hotel. It was so nice to get to the airport without the luggage and know it was going to be there for pick up when we landed. Very convenient!

Where and how do you check in for the Early Bird Check in through Southwest? We are flying Southwest and got tickets booked for April. Thanks!!!

You can do it right on the Southwest website. It's an extra $10 per person for each leg of the trip. It was very convenient during our return flight because I didn't have to watch the clock 24 hours before our flight to check in. Good Luck, I hope you enjoy it.

So let me get this straight. If I do the early bird check in through Southwest, I can go through ME on my departure date and they will handle my luggage like other airlines that are on the list. :confused3 Last time we had to carry our luggage to the southwest terminal and check them in ourselves but using the early bird check in will eliminate this? :confused3 If this is true I'm signing up!:woohoo:

I just wish the mug was a little larger. It's ok for coffee but two swallows of coke and it's empty:confused3

 that sounds like something my husband would say!!!:rotfl2:

Absolutely. We used to get them all the time. Now just my wife does for coffee during her morning walk. We get soda from a local store and keep them all in the room refrigerator. :thumbsup2

Same here. We purchase the 2ltr bottles of whatever flavors and bring travel mugs from home. Saves time and money: no stopping @ the food court on the way out & in, and we only spend about $6-7 on soft drinks for the entire trip.

It is hugely wonderful that you can check luggage for your return trip at the resort (and get your boarding passes!) BUT... make sure whoever goes to baggage claim at your home airport knows how many pieces you checked. My darling space-cadet husband did not have a clue and I ended up going back to the airport the next day to pick up bags he forgot.

Unless things have changed within the last few weeks, the only hotel providing resort check-in, where they handle your bags for you, for departures on Southwest is Pop Century. At the other hotels you still need to take your own bags to the Southwest counter. SWA has been piloting resort check-in at Pop Century for a while now, but it hasn't been expanded to other resort hotels.

The SWA early bird check-in is great but it checks you in with SWA only; it has nothing to do with DME or having them handle your bags for you.

We had refillable mugs last year and preferred room location. That turned out great. It wasn't a hike to go get a drink so we drank more that way. As soon as I see what my bonus is this year I plan to upgrade to preferred rooms!

Thanks so much APB513 I dunno why I thought u could use them in the parks. But it's still a great deal!! =)

That is absolutely correct, but I always "use" them in the parks. I get a drink on our way to the bus and then later use the cup to split large sodas. Great savings. Large sodas are, what, 20 cents more? My kids always want a drink and hate sharing.

GREAT IDEA!:wizard:
