THings I have learned while redecorating/relandscaping this house

Please take the time to move the furniture in the room you are painting away from the wall, and not just paint around it. The silhouette shapes you leave behind are NOT pretty when you've moved from the house.

Seriously??????

Ok I get the no painting behind the toilet thing but around furniture??? omgosh that is hilarious!

Never drink margaritas while building a raised walkway. The only times it will look straight is when you hit the margaritas again.

I'm confused. This is bad because....?

I have one...
When you're refinishing hard wood floors, move out!!! Leave for about 2 days with the windows open to get rid of that smell! It's horrid!

yikes that sounds like a bad smell...

yeah not seeing the problem with margauritas and lanes??

And I finished the bathroom (seperate room with just the toilet) tonight. I had to put 2 coats of primer down and prayed all the way through the top coat. I had bought a quart of mis matched paint that was the perfect colour. I barely made it and was scrapin the edge of the can but I did it~! YAY :)

again, just so NO to wallpaper! UGH it look so much better in there without that hideous floral vine wallpaper!

hehe I didn't post that, but when my cousin got his house, it had been a rental. The renters seriously spraypainted the wall blue AROUND the bed! We're talking a colonial blue type color on this beautiful wooden beadboard (I think that's the right name-it's not paneling). It was INSANE. But a little funny still.

When DH's aunt and Uncle closed on their new house - they did the walk through the day before and the owners were still there - hadn't even started to pack. Next day after the closing - the owners followed them back to the house - there they discoverd that they STILL HADN'T PACKED! There was DH's Aunt and Uncle with all of their stuff and their movers and nowhere to put it - they had to put it in storage and go just wait for the people to leave. 12 hours later they and the movers were gone - Aunt and Uncle FINALLY get into their house for the first time and discovered....

That the brand new refinished wooden floors that the previous owners had bragged about were refinished AROUND the pool table so there were 4 big circles right smack in the middle of the great room that were a completely different color.........

Thankfully they had kept some of the closing money in Escrow and were able to get a few thousand dollars back for the nightmare of them not having moved and the ridiculous looking floor they had to pay to have re-refinished.
