Things for kids to do by London Eye??

We are planning on taking the London Eye and wondered what else is in the area for kids to be interested in (2 boys, 9 and 5). I know Big Ben and Parliament, but besides looking at them and taking a few pictures, anything else? Thanks!

the london aquarium is right at the foot of the london eye,
and the BFI (British Film Institute) IMAX is round the corner, across the river is the cabinet war rooms, but ive never been (will someday!) so ive no idea if its suitable for young kids.

My kids didn't really enjoy the London Aquarium - but then they've not enjoyed any aquarium or sealife centre that we've been to apart from one in Denmark.

Remember you are only a 15 minute walk to Trafalgar Square or the Imperial War Museum (but they are in opposite directions and you children maybe rather young to appreciate the museum unless really into tanks and planes.)

As a child I loved filling in the I-Spy London book. It has just been republished so you will probably be able to pick it up from any bookshop or possibly a Tourist Info Office.

There are some boat trips along the river, my boys enjoyed that. Not far from Tate Modern and the new Millennium Bridge as featured in the last Harry Potter film!

If you don't mind a ride on the underground to South Kensington, then the science and natural history museums are quite good and are also free

Next door is the London Aquarium. Tate Modern (art gallery), St Paul's Cathedral and Trafalgar Square are all within walking distance. As 'ukstitch' said, if you don't mind getting the underground the Natural History and Science Museums are good (and free), plus you could walk to Harrods from there.
