posted this on another thread because the noise issue of the values vs. mods and deluxes came up again.

Hope this will be of help.

I stay at the values quite often and have never had an issue with noise.

The noise issues come with :

1. The main pool is located very close to some of the value rooms.

The themed pools at the mods and deluxes are set away from the rooms.

Tip: Ask for a room facing away or located a ways from the main pool.

2. Turbo toilets

The Values are newer and have the turbo toilets.

Tip: Close your bathroom door at night because noise travels through the plumbing.

3. Connecting rooms

About 50% of the value rooms have connecting doors.

Noise will travel under the connecting doors in a room.

Tip: If you have noisy neighbors open your connecting door and place a rolled up bath towel on the floor between then close and lock your connecting door.

These tips should help you get a restful sleep wherever you choose to stay.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

THANK YOU MINNIE FOR POSTING THIS. THE NOTION THAT THE VALUES HAVE THIN WALLS DRIVES ME NUTS:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: THE WALLS ARE NO THINNER IN A VALUE ROOM THAN ANYWHERE ELSE. HOW COME MANY PEOPLE ASSOCIATE THE VALUE RESORTS WITH POOR BUILT CONDITIONS?? I ALWAYS STAY AT AS SPORT AND LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE THERE- BUT WE ARE A LOUD FAMILY ANYWAYS- YES WE DO FIT RIGHT IN!!

FROM BUFFALO AND PROUD OF IT!! ASK ANY SABRES FAN!!!

Thanks for the tips with the connecting door. We have also done this with our regular door when the hall noise gets loud. It's helped a bit but we can still hear the noise, just more muffled.

We stay at deluxes almost all the time. I always request a room without a connecting door, sometimes we get one, sometimes we don't. The noise is just as loud as when we've stayed in a moderate in the past...so I don't think it makes a difference whether you're staying in a value, moderate or deluxe.

A connecting door is a connecting door and if you're neighbors are loud you will hear them. This also holds true with the other noises like the turbo toilets. I've even heard our neighbor upstairs turn on the jets in the jacuzzi tub one night when we were at SSR. Just depends on how well you hear.;)

FWIW, I've stayed at every value (except Pop - that's this May), also I've stayed at a mod (CBR) and a deluxe (CR). I don't think we've noticed any more noise any more often at the values. Only thing different at the values is what everyone refers to as "turbo toilets". We shut the door to the bathroom at night, that works for us. I'm a fairly sound sleeper, the friend I usually travel with is not as much and she didn't have a problem either. We didn't notice any more foot traffic noise outside our rooms at the values than at CBR. Less at CR simply because those rooms open to the inside corridor.

The way I figure it, Disney means kids, kids bring with them a certain amount of noise. By the time we return to our room in the evenings, we're sometimes so tired, we could fall asleep in the midst of a tornado sweeping through. :rotfl2:
