thieves?

When our family goes on rides we leave everything in the stroller (covered, but in the stroller). I haven't had a thing touched, but now I am second guessing what to do for this trip. What do you do with your camera, video camcorder etc when at Disney?

I guess I am jaded. I will only leave diapers/wipes and our water bottles in the stroller. Everything else I plan on keeping in my baggallini.

I would be especially careful in Adventureland. I've seen rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves walking around there. It's funny, because I never see them in any of the other lands.

I think someone could make a ton of money if they invented a small tracking device you could attach to a stroller, which could be monitored from a smart phone app. If you can track your iphone's location with an app, why not track your stroller if it has disappeared at a theme park? :)

There are actually several companies that make personal locator gps bracelets for kids and pets. You could attach one of those to your stroller in an inconspicuous place, and then monitor it's location from your smart phone while in the park.

Even on our last trip... LOL, had diaper bag, jackets bag, 3 large shopping bags AND Duffy the bear - the biggest Duffy they sell, and yep, took it all on the rides with us. Yes, that WAS a pain. But even to leave diaper bag out... nope, if someone takes it thinking perhaps there could be something good in there, even though it's mainly diapers, but without diapers for my son that's it, there goes our park day, back to the resort we'd have to go.

Two adults, no stroller, but we would carry it all anyway. I probably trust people less at Disney than most places. When we buy things bigger than a pin or a hat we'll wear, we shop early in the day and have things sent to the front of the park so we can pick them up on our way out. :thumbsup2

I've never taken a stroller to Disney but could you bring a cable lock (like you'd use for a bike) and secure the stroller to anything? Not sure they have the stroller equivalent of bike racks but it'd be nice. Or if you are 2 or more strollers, you could at least cable them together to make it awkward to steal. Same with your bag. Get one that can be locked closed (lock loops in the zippers, etc) and cable lock it to the stroller. Not 100% but highly unlikely that someone is gonna bring metal clippers into WDW to steal your stuff, they should just move on.

I've always taken any electronics or other valuables with me in a backback. If a thief does ever make an attempt on our stroller, the most they would get is diapers, bottles, wipes, napkins and maybe a few toys.

I'm afraid I would never leave anything in a stroller, even at WDW, that it would upset me to lose. On our last trip, I overheard a man telling his wife that someone had stolen their son's Mickey balloon when they were in a ride, which I gather was left tied to their stroller. If people will steal something that clearly belongs to a child, they'll steal anything.:sad2:

When we used a stroller I never left anything that I wanted to keep in the stroller. We carried a backpack for all of the baby items and extras (parkas, camera, etc.). I wouldn't go to Six Flags or even my local mall and leave my belongings unattended so I'm not going to do so in WDW either.

We went on one trip with some relatives and my nephew left his autograph book in the WDW stroller while we were on a ride. He had already written his name in the front of the book and had a good number of autographs but someone wanted it and took it. We've had water bottles taken from strollers before if someone is desparate enough to steal a partially used water bottle than they need it worse than I do.

If you are concerned about someone stealing your stroller you can take a bike lock and thread through the back wheels but you can't chain the stroller to anything. I also wouldn't recommend tethering two strollers together since the CMs do and will move the strollers around to keep the stroller parking orderly.

I guess a smart thing to do is keep your strollers at home. Rent them in the parks. This isn't always feasible but Im sure the theives target the better strollers and overlook the Disney rentals because they cant leave the parks with them. As far as the diaper bags just pack the minimum. Its a shame that we live in a world like this but we cannot be foolish.

People still leave things in the WDW strollers and the only time that we ever had a stroller go missing was when we rented a WDW stroller. People don't necessarily care if they can't leave the park with the stroller they just decide that they want a stroller and instead of going to pay to rent one they take another person's stroller.

You cannot lock your stroller TO anything. You CAN thread a cable lock THROUGH the back wheels to make the stroller harder to push around at a fast clip. The CM's have to be able to move strollers around.
