Back to this one. How lucky you were to see the coronation. That's something I'm sure few people can claim to see. I finally got to see that movie last month - it's really such a beautiful mother/daughter story. I can see how it would get to you

We love that movie!

All the new castles plus the Tangled bathrooms are SO pretty! Can't wait to see them!!!

They are so cute! Don't miss it!

I have one month before my F&W trip. I have printed out the menu and have highlighted everything I want to try - OH BOY!

You must be so excited!

I have been putting off this entry because it was a really difficult day for us. You see we are up to the final day of our trip and our last day together for a few months.

Ah. I was just starting to wonder if this TR was going to be left "as is".
I get it now.

Those of you who have kids understand what a difficult day this was for Dale and I. As parents we work hard to give our kids roots and wings but when they use those wings it brings very mixed emotions.

Not there yet.... but I can see it coming.

We grabbed breakfast in the food court (shocking but we have no pics!)

What?? Were Caitlin's hands tied behind her back?
No, that wouldn't do it. She'd bite the camera to take pics.

Hmmm......

Was she unconscious?

loaded the luggage into the car and headed off to the TTC.

Now listen to a story 'bout a nice family,
They took their little girl and went off to Disney.
And then one day they were waiting to ride Pooh,
And their little girl got older and married too.
(in Disney of course)
(where else?)
(I dunno)
Well the next thing you know, Caitlin's moving away
The kin folk said, "Caitlin don't you run away!"
They said, "Disney's calling, it's the place we ought to be!"
So they loaded the luggage in the car and headed to the TTC.
(Disney, that is.)
(Lots of tourists.)
(Monorails.)

As soon as they dropped the rope we raced to the hub.

Raced?
My money's on Dawn.

You see this was a very special day! On this particular day a princess was being coronated at the Magic Kingdom! There were a lot of tv cameras and people waiting for this exciting event!

That's so cool that you got to see that.

Among the "special guests" we spotted Debby Ryan from the Disney Channel show, "Jesse". She was taping some sort of tv spot and had a full entourage including a couple of assistants and both hair and makeup people.

Is it just me, or doesn't she remind you of Demi Lovato?

They then introduced the young lady that the ceremony was in honor of, Princess Merida who arrived on horseback.

Nice touch.

Given our circumstances that day I was actually hoping her mom wouldn't be there. I knew I would be in tears. But she came out and my tears began. I was like a faucet that day

Aw... poor Dawn.

It was quite lovely and I realized Caitlin was crying right along with me.

You guys must've been quite the sight!

This is supposed to be the Happiest Place on Earth, ladies!

We quickly got through the queue and Dale thought the ride was really cute. As for me, well round 2 of the tears had begun. The end of that movie has always made me cry!

Note to self. If going to Disney at the same time as Dawn...

Bring Kleenex.

while I ended up with this. I say ended up with because as you may recall I told you the ordering was a pain. Well I ordered the wrong thing

That's... odd. How did you order the wrong thing?

After lunch we took him over to the Tangled area to see the cutest bathrooms anywhere.

'Cause if a man wants to see anything, it's cute bathrooms.

The drive to the airport had us all teary eyed and when we said "goodbye" to Caitlin at her terminal I felt like my heart was breaking. Like King Triton I wanted her to be happy in her new life but I knew we would miss her desperately.

Check.
Kleenex needed at airport, too.

Thank you so much for reading along on our adventure. It was a wonderful trip and we were glad we had so many firsts like the coronation, May the 4th, New Fantasyland and 2 meals at BOG.

What a poignant end to your trip report. How ironic that the princess coronation was the same morning. I would have been a mess, too! Toy Story 3 came out as Brian was preparing to go to college. I remember the original when he was just a little boy. Yup - I was a mess in the movie theatre the day I watched it.

Love the picture of the Tangled bathroom area. That is definitely my favorite for this update. Just perfect.

Also - jealous that you made it for the opening show and got GOOD pictures to prove it. My attempt was an epic fail.

Now I have to try to find your next TR. I guess its in the DL section. But I gotta go get ready for WORK. Boo!

I was getting flustered by the touch screen. It kept rejecting our dining plan credits and making us start over and I ended up touching the wrong thing.

I've been keeping up with your updates but haven't commented much. What a sweet but sad ending! I can't imagine what you two had to go through for this kind of separation. My mom and I still don't like being 15 minutes driving distance apart. We used to carpool to work every day too even after I got married, but I'm not working at the school anymore, so we don't even see each other for that. I love the relationship that you two have and look forward to more trip adventures!

Loved the final updates! What a bittersweet ending! But I am glad Dale made it for the final day. Now I am off to see just how far behind I am on the Disneyland TR...I have been looking so forward to that report!
