THEY'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT! A tale from 2 cities!! THE END! pg 32

So much to do... so little time.
Now I've got two updates to comment on!
Been busy getting ready for our own trip so I'm falling behind...

Hey everyone! Before I started the next update I just wanted to wish my mom a happy belated!

Oh, heck! I don't remember if I wished her a happy Bday or not!
If I didn't...

happy_belated_birthday_graphics_1.gif

For her birthday I got her the Merida polly pocket doll set.

I can't wrap my head around that. What do you get for someone turning 39? A polly pocket doll set of course!

Our next stop was France. Home to good looking men and great alcoholic beverages.

Women too. At least when you two gals are there. :goodvibes

See kids EPCOT teaches you so much about the countries

:lmao:

Then England home to Winnie the Pooh and tea

Woot! A Canadian bear named after my home town.

I would love to live in one of these apartments and have coffee overlooking the courtyard every morning

This got me thinking.
So you get an offer to live there. You of course jump at the chance. When you go to move in, you discover that it's just a facade over a hollow shell! No plumbing! No electrical! No nothing!

I'd still do it, of course. It's Disney, people!!! Hello!!!

Turns out we ran in to Denise (Deemarch) on the DIS! She congratulated me on getting married and besides scaring her husband a bit it was a very nice meet.

 I could see that happening to me! I'd be all excited and DW would be looking at me like I had an extra head growing out of my neck or something.

This stop was Canada home to some amazing DISers!

And me, too.

I liked the moose statues they added

M-I-C
see ya real soon, eh!
K-E-Y
Why? Because we're friendly, that's why! It's a cultural thing. Sorry.
M-O-O-S-E

Next up was the Wizard of Oz area. I had really enjoyed this movie and the area was a great homage to it!

We were only "meh" on the movie. Could be we were looking too much for it to be as good (or better) then the original.

Not possible.

Oh, Caitlin... Quit monkeying around, silly girl.

I loved the downed hot air balloon!

That's pretty cool.

I may have gotten a little picture happy

You???? Nahhh...

Right before we got in line another family cut in front of us. They were a bit annoying and for some reason the grandfather held his phone like this for the entire line. He wasn't on the phone or anything he just held it like this.

Were they oblivious? Or just didn't care. And maybe gramps was waiting for a call and didn't know how to turn up the volume or just couldn't hear it unless it was stuck to his head. :confused3

After a while we got inside and that is when I began to miss the old Test Track!

The new line feels like a showroom at a car dealership. I miss the scary mannequins and all of the testing equipment!

I dunno. I'll have to reserve judgment until after I've seen it in person. I wouldn't mind seeing new concept cars.

I wasn't highly impressed by this part so I proceeded to make the ugliest car possible.

uh, oh! Caitlin's not happy!

Took a look around the art shop where I fell in love with this very expensive piece of art.

I can't tell for sure... Is it a painting or a sculpture?

Beautiful isn't it?! I think Epcot will be what I miss most from our DL trip! There is nothing like *coughdrinksatcough* Epcot!

Oh dear. Caitlin seems to have something caught in her throat. Better drink something, it'll help. :rolleyes1

I know I know how could I queen of taking pictures of almost anything miss something! I loved how they had Peter Pan on top of the building with Hook trying to get him!

Shocked! I'm absolutely shocked! But then again, I bet lots (and lots) of people missed it... I'm sure I would've!

Peter Pan is one of my favorites but not on Once Upon a Time!

I still haven't seen the last episode... but prior to that, all we've seen is the evil shadow, no? Or am I forgetting something?

I also took another picture of the garden because unless I photograph everything then I have to write more during my updates and we don't want that!

Perish the thought!! :faint:

This has to be one of my favorite views of World Showcase

::yes:: Very nice! :thumbsup2

The best resorts are in this area! I prefer the Boardwalk while mom and dad love the Beach Club

Not only have we not stayed there... we haven't even been there yet! And Beaches & Cream is high on my list!

In the upper area of this pic you can see someone left their board shorts and towels on the deck. Don't they know how beautiful this resort is?! You can't just go leaving your stuff out to ruin pictures! For shame!

I'm surprised you didn't march up there and demand they remove the offending articles.

My mom wanted me to add in here she found it sad that the family next to us consisted of a boy watching tv on the ipad and the dad busy texting on his phone.

We don't allow those at the dinner table.

Disney at night is a totally different experience and one of my favorites to photograph

'Cause if it was daytime, you probably wouldn't have taken any pics, right?

Right?

Hello?

I love this ride but I am not a huge fan of getting wet. I plan on sucking up my fear of water ruined hair and riding it in DL :thumbsup2 (Our hotel is super close to property so hopefully after I can go fix my hair and go right back to the fun)

OMG! You're such a girl!
"I'll ride it, but only if it doesn't muss my hair!"

:rotfl:

Yep! There are only so many rides I can ride multiple times at Disney. These include The Haunted Mansion, The Little Mermaid ride, Peter Pan, Expedition Everest and of course Pirates of the Carribean.

I can't speak for Little Mermaid, having never ridden, but add in BTMRR and I think our lists are pretty identical.

I believe this was the night where I was totally freaked out by the new Mermaid addition. If you haven't seen the last movie the mermaids are bad! In this new addition they had a mermaid singing and showed them by projector swimming on either side of your boat. The water even rises near their tails like they are actually swimming underneath. The mixture of creepy music and mermaids freaked me out and I wasn't sure what was going to happen next. Of course nothing did but it was pretty creepy!

That sounds great! I'll be watching for it next time I ride.

We wants the redhead! What DISer doesn't shout along with that narration?!

<sigh>
I did. And my DDs gave me a look like they thought I was going to jump out of the boat. :sad2:

There is nothing better than a drunken pirate with farm animals

I am so not going to comment about that.

nope.

Because Mom needed this

The Dumbo popcorn bucket!

I didn't even know there was one. Is it plastic or cardboard?

During the door part of the ride we noticed they had just a curtain where a door used to be! Needless to say we got creeped out again waiting for someone to pop out!

 That'd be great! If out of character.

Great HM shots! Best. Ride. Ever.

This one cracks me up! :lmao:

Next up was Its a Small World. Mom requested this.

Yes. I do recall this strange attraction you mom has to that.... I'll call it a "ride" since it would be impolite to call it "purgatory".

I will leave you here many more pictures and experiences to come!

Thanks for the update(s) Caitlin! :goodvibes

I can't wrap my head around that. What do you get for someone turning 39? A polly pocket doll set of course!

Mom appreciates that! She said that's why you're her favorite!

Women too. At least when you two gals are there. :goodvibes

I'd still do it, of course. It's Disney, people!!! Hello!!!

You can use the restroom right around the corner and I believe there is a fountain so you could use that to shower in. You can find an outlet at the electric umbrella so you can charge your phone or laptop :thumbsup2 I've got it all figured out!

 I could see that happening to me! I'd be all excited and DW would be looking at me like I had an extra head growing out of my neck or something.

Yeah I think my dad is the only outsider who is used to it. But then again when we met Queen he had drinks with her that might have helped :lmao:

And me, too.

Yeah I wasn't a huge fan of how the Wicked Witch looked but I thought the movie was very cute!

Oh, Caitlin... Quit monkeying around, silly girl.

That's pretty cool.

You???? Nahhh...

Were they oblivious? Or just didn't care. And maybe gramps was waiting for a call and didn't know how to turn up the volume or just couldn't hear it unless it was stuck to his head. :confused3

I think they knew and just didn't care. I have no idea why it was like that I imagine it would get uncomfortable after a while!

I dunno. I'll have to reserve judgment until after I've seen it in person. I wouldn't mind seeing new concept cars.

There is just something about the older rides :confused3

uh, oh! Caitlin's not happy!

I can't tell for sure... Is it a painting or a sculpture?

A painting it was quite beautiful!

Oh dear. Caitlin seems to have something caught in her throat. Better drink something, it'll help. :rolleyes1

Nope we continue to see the evil shadow I am not quite sure when we will actually see him or if that is him :confused3

I was about to but couldn't figure out the room number.

We don't allow those at the dinner table.

We don't either.

'Cause if it was daytime, you probably wouldn't have taken any pics, right?

Right?

Hello?

Well picture taking is fun at any time but at night it's more challenging :)

OMG! You're such a girl!
"I'll ride it, but only if it doesn't muss my hair!"

:rotfl:

Well I see it this way. Water+humidity+my hair= me crabby and looking like a poodle. So since we take tons of pictures in Disney I try not to get it wet so I am not crabby about having my picture taken.

I can't speak for Little Mermaid, having never ridden, but add in BTMRR and I think our lists are pretty identical.

Good lists!

That sounds great! I'll be watching for it next time I ride.

Plastic.

Thank you! It is my favorite too! I can't wait to see the DL version!

I don't get it either!

Thanks for the update(s) Caitlin! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading!

Caitlin guilted me into doing an update so here I am and let's get started :)

Our day began very early as it was morning magic hours at the Animal Kingdom. We had a quick breakfast in the room

(I'm sure you can figure out for yourselves who ate what ;))

After we ate we made the long hike to the AoA bus stop and before long a bus arrived and took us here

As you can see the place was practically empty! I love morning magic since so few people really take advantage of them.

With the park to ourselves where should we go? We walked past here

and here

and even here

as we continued on our way to

Of course by now you have figured out we were headed here

Caitlin needed to begin her day by journeying to Mount Everest. This would be a solo journey for her as mountain expeditions aren't my thing ;)

So we said "farewell" and she began her quest for the Yeti all the while capturing her experience for you folks at home

Some rare artifacts...say oooooooo

A last chance for adventurers to purchase camping supplies

Some scary masks which test your courage. If you can face these you are deemed brave enough to face the Yeti

Finally she made it to her transportation stop

Our fearless adventurer took a front row seat and buckled up for her journey

She is getting closer

and closer

She even dared to look down

Oh NO!!!!

EEk! Proof the monster is near

And there he is!!

She made it safely back down the mountain where she quickly told me she was going for round 2! Yes the fearless adventurer walked right back on and experienced the journey a second time!

When her second expedition was complete we headed into Dinoland to face the Dinosaur!

The queue was empty

And it turned out we were the first time traveler's of the day (isn't our bravery inspiring?)

After safely returning from the Jurassic era we stopped here to do a little shopping

This antique contraption was hanging on the wall. Anyone recognize this odd device? :rotfl2:

We didn't buy anything in the store and after a quick look around we headed out and began a trek to another continent. On our way we passed

Seriously, isn't this park just beautiful!

In the distance we spotted the iconic tree

Soon we arrived at our next destination but I will let Caitlin tell you about that, next time. Thanks for reading :)

Kids.... they can guilt us into just about anything, can't they?

(pssst... Caitlin. Atta girl. Don't tell your mom I said so.)

(I'm sure you can figure out for yourselves who ate what)

:rotfl:

That little souvenir shack?
Okay. Don't know what all the fuss is about, though.

It's spelunking, right? Spelunking's you're thing.

I look at this pic and think this.

Bill:"Hey Martha! You'll never guess what I just sold at the garage sale!"
Martha:"What?"
Bill:"I just got rid of that old broken copier and busted computer monitor."
Martha:"You did? Who'd buy that junk?"
Bill:"Dunno. Some loser paid me $10 for them. Can you believe it?"

Some rare artifacts...say oooooooo

ooooooooo

Holy! That deer's got rabies real bad!

She even dared to look down

Brave, she is.

Oh NO!!!!

Oh my gosh!!! She's gonna crash!!!

EEk! Proof the monster is near

That's cool! I've never seen that before.

When her second expedition was complete we headed into Dinoland to face the Dinosaur!

Nice. EMH rules.

And it turned out we were the first time traveler's of the day (isn't our bravery inspiring?)

Absolutely! I'm thinking of sticking my head in a gator's mouth next time I'm down there. Think I should do it??

This antique contraption was hanging on the wall. Anyone recognize this odd device?

Oh, sure. It's obviously a handheld shower with 10 different settings.

Seriously, isn't this park just beautiful!

::yes:: I"ve got to get back and just wander around.

Soon we arrived at our next destination but I will let Caitlin tell you about that, next time. Thanks for reading :)

Thanks for the chapter! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading :)

And that stopped you? I had a vision of you angrily scaling the outside of the building.

:lmao:

I didn't even think of that! Maybe I should contact Disney and suggest they hire someone to walk outside around the rooms telling people to put their stuff back inside!

Welll..... I took your advice. Even had my DW take a video, and, well....

see for yourself. I'm on the right, a buddy of mine is on the left.

I think I'll just stick to DISing...

I want that job! I'd just walk around all day yelling, "Stuff it!" at the top of my lungs.

EMH in the morning are the absolute BEST, like, no one is ever there! And in Sept! Ack, my favourite! Oh my gosh, the EE queue pictures are the BEST., seriously, there are few things I love more than AK’s themeing, and in that, EE’s queue decorations are seriously the best!

EE, heck yes, Dinosaur, heck no, that ride is just too dark and scary for me! Baha. Ahh!! All the hot topic shirts! I waaaaaant hahaha, they’re so awesome!

Looks like a pretty great morning in Animal Kingdom so far, gotta love that extra hour, I find it gives you an earlier departure from the park too, which is nice, more relaxing time after an early morning1

I agree, I love the theming at AK :)

We love Dinosaur and it's always on our must do list.

Aren't those shirts the cutest?! She got so many compliments on them and looked so cute :) They've since come out with more so she has a couple new ones set aside for DL.

It was a great morning.

Fun morning so far at AK! Love EMH there. Especially since that park gets so HOT and CROWDED in the afternoon.

Wow, you were the first ones on Dino, even after two rides on EE?

Last week, we went to Dinoland first- (Primevil Whirl, then Dino) and we weren't the first ones, but definitely walked right on without a wait.

I have not seen that paw print in the mountain either. Too kewl!!!

That is always the hottest park, isn't it?
That week it was low crowds and mostly people with young kids so the people that were there were doing other things. It worked well for us :thumbsup2

I never noticed that paw print on EE either. Very cool. Great find.

Back to back rides on EE. What a great way to start the day. And then you still managed to be the first time travelers of the day. Impressive!

Nice EE queue pictures.

Love me some AK. Thanks for the update!

Great start to the Day at AK! I have been on EE once and I think that was enough! When I was there in 2004 it was being built, then my next trip was 2010, I really wanted to try it and my Dh wanted nothing to do with it so I had to wait till the 2011 trip where there were others who would go with me. It was fun but scarier than I thought it would be. I most likely will be sitting it out on the next trip

She has a good eye for detail :)

It was a fun morning and at this point it wasn't even 10oclock yet :)
