Hey there!

My friends and I hope to get out to California this Summer (My main priority to gain some 'perspective' on following a career in screenwriting) and we want to stop at Disneyland, have some fun. They'll sell us tickets, won't they? I don't see why not, honestly... So I suppose I'm looking for some verification, really! :thumbsup2

Well, thanks for any help!

If you've got the money, Disney will sell you the tickets! Have fun!

If you have the money, you can buy anything in SoCal.

While I'm here, I'll ask another question:

Can we rent a hotel room? Or are we going to have to have a parent book it, or such a thing? I thought there was this thing where hotels have to accept "all persons seeking accommodations"? (Btw, we're not staying at a Disney hotel. Just one of the many hotels near Disneyland.)

I'm really not sure if they will book a room for you or not. I wouldn't think so because you are not old enough to sign "a contract". They will need someone who can be legally responsible.

Hmm. Well if we have to, could we have an adult book the room for us? Would that work?

You have to present a photo ID as well as the credit card that you booked the room on in nearly every hotel you stay at these days, so I'm going to say no.

I'd make sure whoever is doing the booking asks about that first. Good luck

Uh-oh...I hope we don't have to sleep in the car...:scared1:

You are going to find out that many things are difficult to do at your age. Contracts are one of them. Better to have someone of legal do it for you, meaning checkin, but they will be responsible for your actions. There are a number of place downtown that will not care what age you are and rent by the hour.

Probably those roach motels I'd bet. You know, those hotels where you say "What was that? WHAT WAS IT?!" every two minutes. ;)

It was an attempt at humor.

My uncle is a screenwriter(ret), worked for Walt, Wolper productions, etc. Many years ago he found a friend who was an higher up for Walt(Bob Larsen) and started at the bottom doing grunt work at the Burbank studio and then as a wild life photographer for the Wonderful World of Disney. He never gave up and drove them crazy.
He wound up writing for a number of people over the years and eventually retired after a stint as an imagineer at WDW.
He now makes a very good living using the computer and writing sorid novels.
Just be careful on how you approach Hollywood and the people there. They will use you until you drop and then throw you away.

Good luck,

Jack

Best thing to do regarding the hotel issue is to call around. I remember renting a room at age 17 (15 years ago) across the street from DL. I had to put down a substantial amount of cash as a deposit. It was given back to me upon checking out, after they checked the room for damage, but that was the only way they allowed me to stay there.
