I was listening to the podcast today and heard John give Pete my letter to read. My name is Perry Launius, pronounced Lawn iss. Ha! It's OK Pete it is a tough name to pronounce.
As he read, I've decided to turn an upcoming bike event on March 28th into a fund raise for GKTW. I've been trying hard to get my legs back in shape after the winter layoff. Healthy eating and pushing those pedal have allowed me to loose over a hundred pounds in the last 14 months. Now it is time those pedals earn some money!
I have never ridden over 54 miles in a day. I have pledges totaling $6 a mile in addition to some separate cash donations. If I can ride 75 (my initial goal) that will earn over $500. I still have time to rise money and am shooting for $750. Anyone who gives me $25 or more will get a DIS t-shirt. Thank you John for confirming that. I will post fund raising updates as needed.
In addition, I'm NOT forgetting the amazing generosity of the anonymous person who is matching donations. I tell this to all my friends and this helps. With that in mind, my goal of $750 could net $1,500! Wow!
Thanks again!
