A was wondering what was the strangest or weirdest thing as a manager someone had to deal with, here is mine.
As a manager many years ago. One employee came to me complaining about another. It turns out the employee liked to pick his nose and munch on it. The first thing I did was go to HR and ask their opinion. The HR rep walked to the window and all I could see was his back with his shoulders going up and down. Once he composed himself, he told me to talk to the employee about his hygiene. I called the employee into an office and asked him if he would please be respectful of the other employees and to practice good Hygiene. The employee wanted to know what. Now this guy had a multitude of issues, bathing, Dirty Clothes, Smell, and on into the night. I didnt want to be specific but he kept on pressing me. Finally I had to blurt out, You pick your nose and eat it. The guy goes oh thats all. I said yes. It is something I picked up in the .. I said listen, I dont want to know how but I want it stopped. He was not embarrassed or anything. Thank god he left the company a few months later.
