They have their panties in a wad again!

Gonz, you left out the sarcastic smilie at the end of post that indicated that it was tongue in cheek.

I don't think Universal will ever get the lunatic fringe and nor to the expect to. The lunatic fringe won't even go to a neighbourhood park.

Sorry about the smile thing, it just shows up as "wink". would have been more apt.

I don't think US will ever get as nutty as some of Disney (all the pixie dust references leaves me feeling disturbed) but there have been some rather off colour comments recently on here to suggest that some are turning that way (for example the attack on the sleeping jedi bloke). I don't mind a row, but it should be kept within context, these are only places of entertainment for us ALL to enjoy.

I'm not running away now, I'm due back at work.

To all Floridians, hope you escaped Alberto unscathed.

I meant that the Universal Studios parks will never attract the diehard Disney fans.

I agree. It would be remenicent to the baby steps in "What About Bob" if they ever did.

Just had to jump in. I've never been to the World or US/IOA. Just planning my first trip to Florida. I will admit I love Disneyland, but that doesn't leave me closed to other possibilities. Having read all the comments in both sections it struck me as just another of those eternal arguements. You know Coke vs Pepsi. Less filling vs tastes great. I'm looking forward to visitiing to find out where in the debate I will land.

Whatever you do DON'T JUMP IN!!!. At times these boards are akin to the Jets & the Sharks in West Side Story, lots of dancing around and name calling but little in the way of anyone landing a meaningful blow.

Just go to all the parks and enjoy what you like and maybe share your positives, and dare I say negatives, with others. There really isn't a debate to be had on this kind of topic (and never have the audacity to say you dislike US/WDW).

Last in Vancouver in 1993 in the days of Bure, Courtnall and Ronning. Have the Canucks been that good since?

I always go my own way. The polite call me unique.
The Canucks come close but never manage to get anywhere. That's okay, I was born in Edmonton and am still an Oiler's fan. The dream is still alive, but tomorrow may not be pretty!

You're not expecting Edmonton to lose tonight are you?????

I never expect them to lose. I still think they can win the cup. Especially after last night. But people have a way of breaking your heart when you least expect it. I still believe!

Posting on the Thread and Loving it. Needless to say, These people will never be converted into going to Universal. Why should they, They have just spent the Gross National Product of Some Countries to share a Week with the Mouse. Would you like to know that after spending that amount of money for cube sized hotel room with a view of the Parking Lot there is a better deal down the street with better attractions. Like I have said the Only Disney Magic Left is making your money disappear.

However, one of the reasons that I go onto the community board is I love to debate, and since they trashed the debate board for pin trading, pixie dust wishes and such, the community board is the place. I have been going to Universal since it opened. One of my first expierences was being able to ride back to the future in previews. I was at IOA in 1999 shortly after it opened. My only bad expierence in about 20 visits was a bad meal at Conifiscos (Sp). We have always enjoyed the rides. Parks have always been clean and staff was friendly.

It bothers me when people compare Universal to Six Flags and Carnivals, without never being in the parks. So Yes, If I have to get into the mud, I will get their and sling mud.

I didn't bother reading the other thread. I feel like I've spent too much time defending UO lately as it is. Between the Express Pass, Ent. coupon, etc., it's becoming a full time job. :rotfl2: Personally, I think it's more than silly for WDW fans to care that UO has a Princess reference in their commercial. I'm not really a fan of those commercials either though. Every time my DH & I see them, we comment on how bratty those kids sound. I hope our trip next month, is bratty kid free. :goodvibes
