I'm at WDW now and on our first night because of airline stuff we stayed at art of animation . Man was the food great. I just had the egg platter At BCV market place it was nasty. At art of animation they have a build your own omelet station a build your own fruit bowl and on and on. It was great. Don't get me wrong I love the size of the villas. McDonald's is 4 star compared to BCV market place.

I've never been to AoA, but I agree about BCV Marketplace. I liken it to a 7-11. LOL We try to stick to TS breakfasts and dinners now, and just kind of wing it throughout the day.

Yep. Value Resort food courts > any DVC QS

And it sounds like AoA > values.

After a little while I realized my DVC trips would become better if I forgot DVC QS and instead ate in the parks.

We usually buy English muffins and jam for a quick bite in the villa in the mornings. There's very few quick service anywhere on property that we like. One is POR. Another Mara. And Seasons at the land pavilion in Epcot about covers it for us. All else is TS.

No, they don't. There's a list on the TiW site, but I think it's all the values and SSR. Not sure about the mods.

TIW is basically for table service. But locations without table service get TIW discounts at QS.
SSR is in there because when SSR opened, there was no TC. just AP.
DAK is included because there are so few TS options (no Yak and Yeti when it opened). As an added bonus, your SSR refillable mug is eligible for a TIW discount at AP

POR has boatwrights so that food court probably does not take TiW..but the values do not have TS options.

I agree, we don't eat quick service breakfast very often, we usually grab a quick bit in the parks. Main Street Bakery at MK, Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, Starring Rolls at DS and almost always eat at Boma before heading to AK.

I did read that AofA has a really good food court, I believe it was mentioned recently in one of the podcasts.

To us this is one of the benefits of having the villa - we buy breakfast stuff and eat in the room. We tried some of the CS places on our first trip and never liked them, so we've stuck with eating at "home" before leaving.

There's an odd note to parts of this discussion. The BC Marketplace is not "DVC counter service" and it is not the "BCV Marketplace." It operates for the benefit of the Beach Club Resort, of which DVC is only a small part. I don't disagree with any of your evaluations regarding the quality of the food service there. But it's not a DVC operation and DVC does not get the blame if you don't like it.

I think with BCV (and BWV), the common complaint has always been lack of QS. Having said that, AoA doesn't have Yachtsman, ESPN, Big River Grille, Cape May, Beaches and Cream, Kouzzina, Flying Fish, etc.... Because the QS is the only option for those guests, it HAS to be decent. The Marketplace isn't expected to provide meals for families all day.... maybe one light meal and some snacks.

Oh, did I forget the 50 QS places steps away in Epcot???

really like Contempo cafe - it and Pop century - both are great for guests with food allergies. so would say AOA is too.

use to love POR Riverside mill - but now instead of grilling their hamburgers (they use to do it in front of you) - they now just put them in a machine.

It lost something for me.

POR used to honor it too but I haven't stayed there since 2007. It was never on the official list but they used to take it.

I have always been happy with the offerings at the Mara. Although I have not stayed at BLT, I too enjoy Contempo Cafe.

I stayed at BLT in March and enjoyed Contempo Café. I wish BWV would have more quick service offerings.
