I was looking through photos of our mid-90's trips to the world and I found some of characters I don't recall seeing around nowadays. I decided to scan and share them with you guys and was curious to know if you have any pictures of hard to find characters that you would want to share. Here they are from 1996 and 1997 trips.

Sheriff of Nottingham

King Louie and Mowgli (I know Louie is still around, but I don't recall seeing the man-cub since this picture was taken in '97)

Shan-Yu with my nephew (then 4)

And Davy Crocket on the Mark Twain sailing around Tom Sawyer Island

I used to see Shan-Yu out a lot when he was in the Cinderella's Surprise celebration but not since they started Cinderellabration!


I wish they still had mowgli - but that costume is a little cheesy!!

I thought I saw King Louie in '03, near the SFR Treehouse.

A lot of Robin Hood characters used to roam the park who don't seem to anymore. It seemed as a kid that they were the only ones I would see in the park (yes, singular... Back in the day when there was only a Magic Kingdom). Prince John sure got around, while I only saw the top characters at the character brunches.

We saw a Green Army man from Toy Story and he gave our kids such a hard time (in a totally fun way) that we've been looking for him/them since. But we haven't come across him in the last few years!

I remember seeing Shan-Yu doing meet-and-greets in China a few years back (2000 or 1999 I think). He would stand near the exit of the Circlevision film and scare people when they were exiting it. I always wondered if that's why he's not out much anymore.

Davy Crockett looks very cool in that pic. I've seen him in some of the old 80s parades (and Mowgli too), but never for meet-and-greets.

Yes, it seems like there are quite a few characters that were out in the 90s that just aren't around for meet-and-greets anymore. I was just looking through my photos recently and found pictures of Gadget from Rescue Rangers, Panchito from the Three Caballeros, Bo Peep from Toy Story, Maid Marian from Robin Hood, Roger Rabbit, and of course the Ninja Turtles.

2 years ago, we saw a lot of characters we did not know. We just got their autograph & snapped a picture. Had a blast anyway!!!!

The Mowgli costume is terrible, poor guy!!! The Shan-Yu character would scare the whatsit out of my DS4, what a great costume. I spotted Friar Tuck and Prince John in May, but haven't seen even Robin Hood before. You often get an odd assortment of characters in the Main Street Square, ones you really have to think about who they are! Saw Clarabelle Cow in the MNSSHP parade, which was excellent! Didn't manage to get a very good picture though....sorry! Here is a link..I think:

Saw Clarabelle Cow in the MNSSHP parade, which was excellent!

We saw her too in the 2004 All-Star Parade in Disneyland. I didn't get a very good picture of her either.

Harambe: We were just there in June and saw a Green Army Man @ MGM...I was so surprised to see that "character" out and about. I thought he was really cool...but couldn't get ds to go get his autograph.

Thanks for the pictures...just this morning my kids were watching a Disney sing a long tape & they asked me "whose Davy Crockett?"

I remember Shan Yu from the show they did in front of the castle & laos he was in the Mulan parade back in 1999 (i think). Never seen the other ones.

Has anyone ever seen Boo from Monsters Inc? She's DD's favorite. I've heard you can see Sulley & Mike in MGM, but never heard anything about little Boo.

We saw two of them out at the same time just last week at MGM. They were both in the area where Al's Toy Barn is.

Green Army Men you can always see in front of the hat at MGM a few times a day

Friar Tuck was out in Dec 2003 and I think I saw him in December 2004 also

My ultimate find was Jiminy Cricket.. but I do not have him on this computer

My Holy Grail of autograph/picture of a character is the Old Hag... saw her once many years ago. Still looking
