They Don't Eat Hash Browns in Princessland - May 14 COMPLETE! 2/8 pg. 73

Oh the arguments with the dad who refuses to address his health needs...I've been there!

We had one on our last trip w/ the parents in 2013, when he lamented about how slow he was and how little he could do...I may or may not have snapped back that he knew about the trip for over 6 months and could have done some physical therapy and started exercising more to get ready. A scene similar to yours ensued...but again it's hard to stay mad at Disney, so we made up shortly thereafter.

Awesome on being recognized...you're totally a celeb!

And really Danielle – nothing puts the magic into your last day at Walt Disney World like waylaying a stranger on Main Street. :)

:lmao: Gaston a prince :rotfl: That's right, kick em out, LOL

Your meet with Gaston was perfect, too fun!

I love your make-up! I would totally go to a Danielle/Missy party! The two of you are some of my very favorite trip report authors! I would totally stalk (in a non-stalkerish way) both of you if I knew you were there at the same time I was! I completely get the argument with your parents. I often have similar ones. You just want them to take care of themselves! Can't wait to read more!

Thanks!

That would be a crazy party I think! And it's totally okay that you would stalk us in a non-stalkerish way. :rotfl2:

That's exactly it. I just want my parents to take care of themselves, and sometimes I get a little carried away with my desire for them to do so.

Yay for DIS-meets and DIS-fame! :cool1: Pretty cool!

So, I couldn't tell, did Popadon get his pork shank for breakfast? :confused3

Wow, what a fun meet with Gaston! Love all the pics and how in character he was! :thumbsup2

It was so fun! And being recognized was crazy! I just never expected that to happen to me.

He did get his pork shank for breakfast. I didn't get a picture, because we got into the argument. Whoops. :lmao:

Gaston was such a great character. I definitely want to make him a regular meet and greet.

Oh my gosh! That meet with Gaston looked hysterical! He is one of the top characters on my Must Meet list the next time I go to the World - Mulan is another elusive one.

It was awesome! Definitely put him on your list for your next trip. Mulan too. We met her at World Showcase. She was pretty adorable.

Hi Danielle! :wave2: I know it's really late but I've decided to join in!

Miss laughing at your posts ha ha. I love the Ariel and Ursula leggings as well as the shorts tip :thumbsup2 Great makeup as well!

Yay on your DIS meet and 15 minutes of fame!! That was awesome..I was laughing out loud at your description of being recognised by someone you didn't know :rotfl:

Love the Gaston M&G as well as the PP shots. Btw that Cinnamon roll had me drooling sooo much!! popcorn:: Could happily devour one of them beauties right now...

Looking forward to reading more :goodvibes

I'm glad you're here Tanz!

My 15 minutes of fame will go down in history for me. It was awesome, I'm not gonna lie. :rotfl2:

That cinnamon roll had me drooling too! That's vacation food right there!

Love the update. Your meet with Gaston was perfect!!

It was perfect, I'm so glad we made the time to stop to see him.

Yup, that's exactly where we were. He just kept complaining about it, and I'm like "stop complaining about something that you could have done something about". It seemed harsh, but I wanted him to do something good for himself.

I totally forgot about the argument :laughing: we always forget right away and move on. :thumbsup2

I forgot about it, until I got to that part in my notes. I was like "oh yeah!" LOL.

And really Danielle – nothing puts the magic into your last day at Walt Disney World like waylaying a stranger on Main Street. :)

You are absolutely right! I'm so glad that you ran into us. It was so nice to meet you.

:lmao: Gaston a prince :rotfl: That's right, kick em out, LOL

Your meet with Gaston was perfect, too fun!

I know, right?! Your Disney card has been revoked lady!

It was so much fun to meet him. He was awesome.

Hi there! I've been following along but am finally saying hello! I'm still learning how to keep up with TRs!
Your parents crack me up!
I'm so impressed with your eye make up. I'm more so impressed with the fact that it seems to stay on all day! Maybe it's because I'm always at Disney in the scorching summer, but I was even sweating through waterproof eyeliner.

I bought those ariel and ursula leggings. I was SO disappointed that they were like totally see though and actually ended up returning them. Oh well.

Your Gaston photos are so perfect. He's also on my list. Everytime I saw him out on our recent trip his line was closed :headache: Oh well!

Gaston is the best!!! That will be a must in March! Even though my four year old has no idea who he is.:worried:

Long story short, our DVD copy of B&TB was pilfered. And the last time she watched it, she was around one. Being that the vault has not opened for my FAVORITE movie, I cannot show her that fabulousness that is this movie. I'm not paying $70 for a copy on Ebay. I just can't.

I digress.:(

I am sorry you had an unmagical experience with the parents. If we're being honest, we all have those moments at WDW. Some of us just don't admit it. Cheers to not letting it affect your day!:goodvibes

We had that Gaston in June and got some great pictures too. He put the autograph book up on a ledge because DD12 didn't ask nicely enough. One of us asked him if he even knew how to spell his name and he said sure I do...then he made sure to look at the sign for "Gaston's Tavern" while he wrote each letter of his name. DD12 had a question for him but she was never brave enough to break into the banter he kept up...he was fantastic!

Dismeets are always cool and I'd bet it was pretty cool just having soemone recognize you ;)

Hey, not so magical moments happen at Disney too. But I'm glad you got it resolved quickly.

No judging about IASW. Aww PhilharMagic :( I'm bummed it's in refurb for our whole trip.

Gaston is so great. We had awesome meets with him in May and in October. Actually, in November too, now that I think about. Wow, he's just always on point.

I'm finally caught up! It took me a couple hours but I had a sour night last night and it was TOTALLY worth it. I'm sorry your group had a less than magic moment, but I *LOVE* the fun had with Gaston. My Squeaks will be 4 when we go, I'll have to make sure we visit him with her. I hope he's still hanging around the same friends, though I know that's kind of like asking for Christmas to happen on your Birthday in September.

:welcome: I'm glad you decided to come out and say hi! I had lurked a bit on your TR before too. I LOVE your tattoos!

Oh believe me, the makeup can melt. I have it down to a science that it melts a bit less, and there are several products that work better than others. But I have melting problems at times too.

They are really sheer! That's why I use the shorts / opaque tights option depending on the time of year. Because they are too cute for me to pass up. :rotfl2:

I've missed Gaston several times before due to timing also, and this time I was like "there is no way I'm missing him!"

Definitely make sure you schedule time to meet him. He's the best.

Oh no! That's horrible. It is in the vault, huh? That stinks. Maybe you can see if someone posted it on youtube and watch it. That works sometimes. Or see if it's on Netflix!

We try not to let those things affect our whole day, because that would just suck a bit.

He's pretty great! The interaction you had with him sounds amazing! And the fact that he had to keep looking at the sign to do the autograph is perfect.

"How can you read this? There are no pictures!"

It was pretty cool having someone recognize me, I have to say. I was so flattered!

I have no shame that I do IASW. None whatsoever.

Oh no, refurb for your trip! No! I would cry. For real.

Let's hope he is always on point. Otherwise, this one set the bar really high.

I'm so sorry that you had a bad night, but I'm glad that my TR could cheer you up.

It's very likely that you can find the same friend. Gaston only meets in one place, and I don't think he has a lot of friends. :goodvibes

Day 7 - Wednesday May 21, 2014 continued:

After having an amazing meet and greet with Gaston, we were getting kind of hungry. And I planned that meet and greet perfectly, because we were right next door to our lunch location.

Now, I don't know if I had a brain fart or something, but I didn't take any pictures of us walking into the Beast's castle. I don't know what the deal with that was.

So you just have to imagine the steps along the way. We headed to the area where they check you in for FP+, and then they sent us into the castle and through to the FP+ line. We all decided what we were going to order and headed through. We don't do the pre-order for food, because I like to see where my mood takes me. Mom and Pop are pretty much the same too. And Pop sometimes will change his mind from the time he sees the menu until he gets up to the selection point, so this works for us.

What did we order?

I got the carved turkey sandwich.

Mom got the braised pork, based on Pop's and my glowing review of it back in January.

And Pop ordered the seared tuna salad.

We all very much enjoyed our options. We did not order anything for dessert this time around. I know! No masters cupcake for me. I had another dessert in mind a little later on, so I didn't want to fill up.

We really enjoy this restaurant for lunch. It feels like more than a counter service location. We aren't going to do lunch in November, we actually have a dinner planned at the request of my friend who is coming along. The one thing I have to say that's just a suggestion for the location. If they are trying to make this a little more European....the fries need to be better. They are just the standard Disney fries, and I wish they were more than that. Just a thought!

You really can't beat the view though.

Pop enjoyed his salad.

Mom really enjoyed the braised pork. I had told her it was good.

My turkey sandwich was pretty good. I wasn't disappointed in it, and it was warm which is always a plus in my book. The baguette that they put it on is pretty tasty. I would recommend it.

On the way out I had to get a picture of the stained glass. And the fact that Adam looks like he's not wearing any pants.

After our lunch, we decided to actually use one of our FP+ selections! See, all that useless Mine Train stalking, and we didn't get to use our FP's. There was a point in time where we did become those people that were hovering around the entrance and waiting for about 30 minutes. Yup. We're pathetic.

This particular FP+ selection was for Momma.

Do you see what I have to live with every day? That's where my stank face comes from. Like "really?!"

I rode solo and took the time the take some pictures.

Now, I don't have glowing hair anymore. But my toes glowed this time. Woot woot!

After we got off the ride, Pop commented that he was hurting a little bit, so we decided to head out for our afternoon relaxation time, before heading to dinner that night.

However, not before I was going to get my treat. Where was that treat going to come from?

Oh yeah. I wanted a cake cup from the Cheshire Cafe.

And, being that Mom and I don't like to have to choose, we ordered one of each of them. I was a bit bummed out at the fact that they didn't have the birthday cake version anyone, but you know. These will do in a pinch.

This was the white chocolate version.

And the strawberry shortcake.

So I much preferred the white chocolate one, because it used a similar buttercream frosting to the birthday cake version. I really love the cake cups, because in my opinion, the frosting to cake ratio is perfect. As in a ton of frosting, and not much cake. :hyper:

These are a must eat for me on every trip. I'm kind of excited to see the different flavors they're going to have.

Hence the reason....I'm gonna need bigger pants.

On the way out, we took a few more PP pictures, but this was the best one by far.

Awwww.......the man always gets kissed in PP photos.

Up next: Silly selfie? Why not!

Both of those cake cups looks delicious! Look at Pop getting all that loving in front of the castle.

Isn't that always the way. Just too many dessert options and so hard to pick just one. I definitely admire your willpower to wait.

I still can't figure out that stained glass. Did they run out of colour and just figured... ah, nobody will notice?

I still love that dastardly Peter Pan (yeah I'm a Once Upon a Time junky), but that ride is just so quaint and old school. It's just cool.

OMG those cakes look good. I'm getting me one (or two) of them.

I just started reading and I'm only up to Chapter 17 but I am already a huge fan of you and your parents. This is amazing.
