I bought our new APs at the Guest Service window on Wed, the CM asked if we wanted to continue the payment plan, I told her yes, she told me the downpayment would be three hundred and someodd dollars, I said cool, she handed me a paper to sign for each AP, awesome, right?
Nope! DH checked the bank account this morning, and THEY CHARGED THE ENTIRE FOURTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! I am waiting for a call back from the AP hotline!!
Has this ever happened to anyone else? What are the odds of getting it reversed? The money was there, but now we can't pay any other bills!!!

First let me say don't panic. I have not had this happen with Disney but have had it happen with other places. More than likely they can reverse the transaction. The only problem is how long it takes to credit back to your account.

I have also had this happen (not from Disney) and I called and they reversed it right away, but it took until thursday to get back into my account, and I called on Monday. I really hope you don't have to pay bills RIGHT away!

check ur receipt and see whats the charge is on that...

Then, put a dispute on the charge with the credit card company... Ur receipt is ur proof on how much they should have charged u...

Oh no... that is just horrible. I do hope it gets resolved quickly. I believe that if you used a debit card that went through like a credit card you might be better off. If it was processed like a debit transaction that's the one that can take a long time. I believe I was told the store can take up to 8 weeks to post the money back into your account... that's why so many stores will give you cash back if you return something purchased with debit card.

Call your bank. If you signed permission for them to take $100 and they took $1400 your bank can help you.

This is why I never use my debit card. :sad2: I put it away and never bring it out. Once they take the money out of your account it is gone until it gets straightened out. If you pay with a credit card, you haven't actually paid yet, and you have time to have them fix it. Also, never do automatic monthly payments for anything with a debit card. If you cancel the membership or service they can keep taking money out each month and it can be hard to get it back. Credit cards are much safer.

Anyway, I hope you can get them to figure this out. I would sure be horrified to find that much money missing from my account!

This exact thing happened to me last summer/fall with my debit. I signed up for a gym back where I was living in the summer, just for June, July, August and September. I went in September when I was moving back to school to make sure they cancelled my membership, and they confirmed they would :sad2: I didn't realize until about 6 months after school began that they were still withdrawing $60 a month for my "membership". When I called back furious and looking for my money back, they said that I had never cancelled the membership and there was nothing they could do about it  Blasphemy!!

I've had this happen with other things. Funny how the money comes right out! But it takes a good week for them to put it back. Never understood that. I hope you can get it straightened out! Hard when you've got bills to pay!

That's generally on the bank's side, not the company clicking the "refund" button...
