They are calling it Black Thursday...

Today has now been nicknamed Black Thursday at my job...They have been hinting about it for 2 months, but today, 5 people were layed off. We are a small company of about 150 people, many having been here over 20+ years.

What makes it worse, is they told us in a meeting at the beginning of the year that they did not see layoffs coming, but the market has gotten worse. Being we are a food distributer in FL(though we do service Disney), the market is hurting horribly.

One of the people let go is 5mo pregnant, I feel so bad for her.

So this round is done, but I fear more are coming soon....we live in rough times.

Tomorrow is going to be Black Friday for us. They are planning on laying off 6 people, but we only have about 50 employees. I have 32 years at my job and have never, ever, seen it this slow. Times are not good right now.

OP so sorry to hear of the news. I know its tough out there, I have been laid off since November and I seriously have to say that if I didn't have the DisBoards to come on and get support (from my fellow Disney Lovers!) or just a laugh I would go insane.

I am on the computer looking for a job and sending out resume's so sometimes I just need a break.
