When did they add the fireworks shows? is that a special week or something. We are going May 6th onwards and currently they only have fireworks showing on the weekends. I didnt know they changed the schedules, whats the chances of it changing in May?

They update their entertaiment schedule all the time. Everything is always subject to change. I would keep checking your May dates.

I hear it's sort of a mixed blessing: If they add fireworks or other shows, it's because they're expecting it to be busier. We'll be there the same timeframe, Chicago526, so I'm glad we'll have more opportunity to see them.

Crowds smrowds, I want my fireworks! Seriously, I'm bringing my Unofficial Guide anyway, we can use the touring plans. And we're there for 3 1/2 days, so even if it's packed to the gills, we'll be okay.

I was told by someone at disney travel that they did not add them, but it was planned all along and there was a problem with the website. But we were also told that the Electrical Parade was supposed to be the week of 4/24 but now I'm told that its not running. And they've also changed the date for the Block Party Bash.

I've had to rebuild my touring plan like 4 or 5 times because a) I can't get reliable info and/or b) they change it so often that nobody knows what is going on.

But I can't imagine that they would purposely change their plans that often with such short notice. It must take some prep work to put on a show like the fireworks.

But all my work with touring plans will probably be washed down the drain when DD5, DS6 and DS9 get there for the first time.

That's interesting about the fireworks 'problem with the website.' When I first started looking at the calendar for April (last January) it showed fireworks I think every other night. Then that disappeared, and they were only on the weekend. Now it's changed again!

I didn't care so much (except as an indicator of crowd levels) until I spoke with DS1's gym class teacher, who went to DL in February. She said the fireworks aren't just behind the castle (as I'd pictured), they go off all around that circular plaza! I wasn't planning to stay for it (it starts too late, kids & maybe DH will be cranky, hate being in the middle of a crowd, yadda yadda)...but now I kinda want to see it all!

I saw the fireworks show they had a few years ago and it is NOT an optional event. You MUST go and drag your whole family if you have to. Do whatever it takes but do not miss it.
