Thesis is cancelled, I am so sorry!

I want to thank everyone who signed up for our thesis, but unfortunately we will not be able to go through with it. Apparently we were mistaken in believing that this was the one project that we could do the way we want to, but after two drafts we have gotten nothing but negative feedback from our prof. Even though we followed EVERY suggestion she had for us, she still managed to find a reason to fail us on our first assignment. Just to let you guys know, both Matt and I have 85%+ averages, so we are not bad students. It has become apparent that there is just not enough resources out there for us to get approved by our prof and apparently by ethics. So we are changing our topic to Crisis Management in tourism (ie. after 9/11, Madrid bombing, tsunami,etc.) which is an unoriginial topic with massive amounts of research done that we think is interesting, but don't care a whole lot about. And we will not be doing our own research, just taking other peoples and making our own theories (so secondary research).
Ok, sorry for all the bitterness. I was crying when I started this post (b/c I cared so much about this topic) and now I am not, so I guess it was therapeutic for me.
I am so sorry again to everyone who signed up, but thank you for doing so. We appreciate it so much!

If this is a topic you really want to go through with, why no tod it on your own time and then submit it as more or a resource guide to a publishing firm? Hey, if it gets picked up, you might even be able to make some money off it!

As for tourism after a major crisis- I have a story about the Madrid airport 10 days after the train attacks. If you wanted more information, PM me. Our reaction after 9/11 and their's were like night and day. I was so thrilled to get back to the US and have to go through US screenings.

I am so sorry to hear about your Prof not letting your ideas come to fruition! I only wish there was more research done on destination weddings, I really encourage you both to keep everything and someday in the future complete your ideas. Everyone in my family is either for or against a destination wedding there is no in-between, if there were more information to help let those who are in the "no" understand why I (or any couple) want something completely special and not typical would be a great source of relief. Keep on smiling and you will get through this! Good Luck!

The most important thing is just to do the best job on your thesis that you can and finish up. I know it isn't the topic that you want, but hang in there and knock this one out of the park!
