These Boards and AKL point deals

So I called my guide and said "I saw on the Dis board that we could get double developer points for $3pp (we did the dev point AKL deal), give me that deal" and she did. I never would have known without these boards.

Disney did not let people know. I am a little disapointed with he communication from Disney.

I know that most people took the $8 discount. So is anyone irritated that some people got points for $5 pp ($8 for the first set of points and $3 for the second)? I figured, I could sell the points for at least $7pp and make a profit and be way ahead of the $8 discount.

On 100 points. It cost me $500 for 200 points and if I sell them for $7 (I know that I could get more), I will get $1400. If I take the $8 discount, I get $800. So I am $600 ahead by taking double developer!!!

Is anyone disapointed that Disney did not let them know about the double points deal instead of the discount?

Nope. I was able to buy what I wanted when I wanted it and make my reservations May 16th rather than risking not getting what I wanted at all.

I didn't take the first set of developer points so I certainly wouldn't have taken the second set. I took the discount instead.

Um I'm confused a bit - I thought you paid full price ($104) if you took the developers points - what do you mean by you got them for $5?:confused

What is up with double points? I bought 100 points and got 100 developer points...for going the discount.

I told my niece about the double developer points, are you saying the guides are not telling everyone about this? I bought in Feb, I was offered, $8.00 off or developer points, not double, I don't think they were being doubled then. It did make me a founding member. Name on Tapestry.

We bought 110 more SSR points today. We got 220 developer points AND we got our 2006 points (110) that can be banked. The developer points cant be banked. Those 330 points are covering our trips for the next 7 months so that we can bank the "regular" points that we already owned. We have a Dec. use year so we get our next 110 on Dec. 1.

We paid full price of $104 per point.

Double points are on AKV or SSR but the 2006 points are only available on SSR.

We are thinking of adding on at AKV. I want to make sure I understand the price incentive or developer point choices.
We currently have a March UY. If we add 100 points at AKV, and paid the $96/point (the $8 incentive), would we be forfeiting the 2007 points - with points starting in March 2008??
Or... if we chose double developer points, we would pay the full $104/point and get our regular 2007 points, plus another 100 developer points - or is it another 200 Double developer points??? I'm so confused!!

We have a Dec. UY so ours was a little easier to figure out b/c we have not yet gotten our 2007 points, those come on Dec. 07. I beleive that you can only get the 2006 points if you are still functioning in your 2006 year as we are. You do get the double developer points. So for your 100 point purchase you would definately get the 200 developer points but I dont know that you would get other points.

If you are going to purchase AKV then the 2006 points are a moot issue b/c those can not be given on AKV as it did not exist in 2006. We really wanted AKV but we also wanted the 2006 points so we bought more SSR. We were able to bank those for next year. So we paid full price but for that extra $1000 we got 330 extra points on our 110 point purchase. Those 330 points were worth more than the $1000 OOP expense of paying $104 per point.

Am I just confusing you more?????

I just read some where that I can bank some?
I have a vacation next dec. I want to bank dec07-dec08
then use 08-09points
and bowwor 09-10points.
are there any ways to bank some of the 480 to that trip dec 27th 08

You can bank the 2006 points so you would be able to bank 160. You must use the other 2 sets of points (320) within 7 months or you loose them, no banking and no renting. So the whole deal only makes sense if you plan to take a trip in the next 7 months.

Come Dec. 1 of 2007 you would have 320 points available b/c you would have your banked set and your new 2007 set. Then you could borrow your 2008 points so that you would have 480 points. In addition you have the other 320 developer points but you would have to use them prior to mid-January so that they dont expire at the 7 month mark. Technically you could them combine the 480 and the extra 320 to take one large trip before the mid-January expiration. 800 points would make a nice trip!!

and i will have till mid feb or march becouse im not buying till sertion date..

but ok thank you. (im also maybe gona use the extra 7month points with mom dad in feb or march
