Hey all....

I know i've been MIA for a while. Last time I checked in I mentioned that me and my DH were going through some problems. We are going to try counseling and spending more time together. Let's see if that works. Lately we had just been fighting a lot lately about the smallest things. He finally broke down and told me it's because he was jealous that he had to go to work and I stood home with Marissa all day. I told him it's not as easy as you think. But that is one of the reasons that he said he always argued and was never home. Please wish me luck MAYers. We both still love each other very much but sometimes love isn't enough. We have a lot that we must work out and i think going to therapy is one step forward. We are also going to have 1 night out of the week that we sit and talk if there are any issues we need feel should be bought up. It's hard but i know having you guys to talk to helps out. And another thing remember that my DStepson had his GF pregnant well the baby was born on July 31st he's the cutest thing but i do not see a resemblence there of my DSS but he is totaly in love with the kid. And he unfortunetly signed the birth certificate and everything so even if it is not his child he is stuck until he can afford to hire a lawyer to get his name off. So that is another reason my DH has been stressing out so much. We'll see what happens. I will check in more regularly now....

On a funny note....

One of my cousins kept calling me for like 4 days like 10 times a day and i just wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone so i ignored her calls and come to find out she needs me to help her plan a WDW vacation for Feb... It's so funny everyone in my family told her to call me since i'm Mrs. Walt...

Mari!:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Thank you so much for checking in! I was gettiing worried about you, girl.

Well, honestly- it sounds like you two are on the right path with counseling and working things out.
I know that it really must be tough for a man to feel such a HUGE responsibility of being the one who goes to work, to pay for everything.

It's funny- Belle and I were JUST talking about this today b/c she said it's not fair that Daddy has to go to work all day while we stay home.

I'm sure that all men must feel resentment in some ways- maybe some times more than others.

I am glad you are trying to work it out, though, and know that the MAYers love you and wish the best for you.

Oh yeah- and congrats on the new baby!:flower3:

Jo

 Never thought about it!

I hadn't even heard that. That sure would be interesting if it actually ended up here! Nothing exciting ever happens here!

What...SuperBowl winners and Stanley Cup winners isn't exciting enough for you...

Wait...Lake came to town and there was a "mayer" get together...Now that was EXCITING!!!!!!! ( jason wanted me to say that)!!!!:rotfl:

GO STEELERS!!!! Our shirts are ready!

Sorry Lake! You are totally right, Pittsburgh has been very exciting lately. The Superbowl and Stanley Cup were okay, but Lake (and family) coming to town and the MAYer Meet was the BEST!! :snooty: :woohoo:

We have been worried about you Mari. Thanks for checking in. I'm so sorry you are going through a rough patch. It sounds as if you guys are willing to do your best to try to work it out though. Remember we are here for you. :grouphug:

Have fun helping your cousin plan her Disney trip! :goodvibes

 It sounds like you guys are really having a hard time.

Just remember the MAYers are here!

I saw the baby pic on your facebook page and he is a cutie pie!

Jo - Very nice TR!

Well MAYers! I need to shower and pack things up for our little mini trip to Dallas.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Morning Everyone.

Malik report... the little guy is doing great. Surgery went well and they believe they got the entire mass that was appraoching on his brain. The are still waiting on hearing the report whether it was cancerous..should know later. So we are all still praying for a little more good news, and hopefully all will be well. They have kept him in an induced coma to let him heal a bit first. But at this time things are looking better.
Thanks friends for your prayers and good thoughts for him, Amanda and her family. I can't wait to see his little blue eyes sparkle again, he's a sweet little guy.:goodvibes

Hi guys...this will have to be fast because I leave in less than 3 hours to pick my mom up at the airport. I think I told you that she is moving here from Idaho Falls. She'll stay here tonight and tomorrow, then my brother-in-law should be here with her things in a UHaul and we'll move her into a senior's assisted living apartment I found about 20 min away. It's older, not fancy, but $1100/month for a studio, all utilities are included except phone and cable, 2 meals a day (breakfast and lunch, she's on her own for dinner), housekeeping and linen service once a week, activities, transportation to dr., bank, grocery store etc (which is great because she no longer drives). The residents I talked to there seemed happy and friendly, hope she likes it. If she doesn't, there's no lease, so we can look for something else. But it's the best price I've found for the most services.

Lake, glad to hear good news about little Malik :cloud9: Keep us updated...

Mari, glad to hear from you, and best of luck to you and your DH. I totally understand -- been there, still there, just the issues are a bit different for us.

Jo, so glad it wasn't the swine flu! Yeah, the initial furor died down, but I've been reading a lot of reports that it could make a big comeback this fall. They put hand sanitizer stations all over the lobby where I work, hoping customers and employees will use them, and sent out a memo that if you are sick with a virus, please don't come to work  Now...let's see if management stands by that and doesn't punish people for absenteeism if the flu starts seriously going around  And girl...I'm sad for your DCA day! It just wasn't going right for you :sad2: Wish Sea and I had been there -- we would have immediately dragged your hypoglycemic butt over to Taste Pilot's for a burger (or grilled chicken sandwich) and fixed you right up! Please tell me you made it back to see Aladdin???

Sea, wanna meet by the "C" in September? Last time you guys were LATE and we met you inside the gate! :rotfl2:

okay, okay, enough goofing around, gotta get back to cleaning house. Funny, last 4 times I visited my mother I went there to clean HER house (and pay her bills and take care of business for her). Now she's coming here, and I'm cleaning MY house  I should invite people more often...it's the only time my house gets more than a survival cleaning, swipe with a dustcloth and a promise to do more later...

Hello to the rest of you Mayers out there...I probably won't be on much this weekend, but I'll catch up when I get back!

Hello MAYers!

Great news about Milak Lake! :goodvibes We will continue prayers and good thoughts for him.

Have a great time in Dallas NC!

JO - Did you watch BB??? I was so happy last night!!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo::dance3: I was yelling at the TV - so long loser!!! :rotfl:

Just got home from a soccer meeting. I have been talked into taking on yet another volunteer position this fall. :upsidedow Age-Level coordinator for DS7's age group.

DH has to work all weekend. So we won't be doing much around here. But we are very thankful for the over-time, because things are expected to go downhill for the company this fall if things don't pick up soon. :scared:

DS7 is going to his first sleep-over Sunday night. Well non-family sleep-over. I am nervous. He's not. :confused3

Morning MAYers. Happy Friday! :cool1:

Lake - that's great news about little Malik! I'm so happy that he's doing well. :goodvibes

Shelly - I'm in the same boat as you are with your DH's company. :sad2: My dad's said that the company usually bills $300,000 a month and he said that he hasn't had a month that touches that all year.... Last month they billed $40,000 worth of work and that is it. :scared1:

It is really scary. Not only will Bob be out of a job, but so will my dad and my uncles. And they won't even be able to file for any kind of unemployment because they're owners. :guilty:

So, if anyone has any printing or laminating needs for their work or their DH's work - send them our way. :flower3:

They do some of the printing for American Eagle, GNC, Del Monte and Delallo. So I know that they ship all across the country and into Canada. :rolleyes1

Holy Crap RF!!!

My DH is a graphic designer and he works at a printing company! And the same sort of thing is happening there! Luckily, the account that DH works on is still going strong...DH is kind of keeping the department going at this point. I can't imagine the pressure!

Shelly - I'm in the same boat as you are with your DH's company. :sad2: My dad's said that the company usually bills $300,000 a month and he said that he hasn't had a month that touches that all year.... Last month they billed $40,000 worth of work and that is it. :scared1:

Yep, that's how my DH's company is. They just laid it all out in a meeting - if we can't ship X amount of dollars each month then X amount of people will be laid off. And while DH has climbed the ladder in positions, he is still pretty low on the "seniority" list. Rumor has it they will go strictly by seniority when it comes to lay-offs, not by position. :sad2:

It sure is scary!

Heck no! They were using tasers! You can't believe how one person can cause so much trouble for so many people. UCLA and Westwood was jammed with traffic, apartments were evacuated. Even the FBI agents had to stay in the Federal building until the standoff was over...how ironic is that? It took FIVE tear gas shots and a taser to end the nonsense...insane.

Holy cow, Sea!!!
Did you just go over there to check it out????:lmao:

Just doing your civic duty??
;):rotfl:
Jo

Hi Mari! Good to see you - sorry to hear about what's going on. Keep on talking and getting help. We are here for you guys!

NC - Have a fun trip!

KB - Sure we can meet up at the "C". I can't make any promises about being on time...LA traffic is crapshot. LOL!

Jo - Great pictures of DCA!!! Can't wait to read and see more of your adventure. How is Belle today?

Shelly - So, you talk to the TV...:lmao: - Yes, I think you would love DCA - it has TSMM, TOT, Soarin' over California, and they are building Carsland!

Lake - Glad to hear that Malik is did well in surgery.

RF - I know what you are going through - the printing industry is getting slammed hard in this economy. I hope you are able to find new niches and new customers soon.

Trix - Did you hear about MP accident?

Sea

Busy weekend and week ahead of us.

We have friends in town from Florida, New York and Texas. Heading down to DL tonight to meet our friend from NY for a couple of hours. Then on Saturday night we are going meet our friend from FL and our friend from NY will join us for dinner at Rainforest Cafe. Then on Sunday, all of us, plus our friends from Texas and the rest of us locals are going to DL and DCA! I think there might be about 20 of us on Sunday.

Then next Friday, we are going to take our friend from FL up to Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead. Should be a lot of fun!
