Make her dinner, clean up, rub her feet, rent a movie... but it's been 26 years... I'm still just married - and that crap all still works on me.

My wife wants to go out - she has a lot of gift cards she got the last week of school so it might be Outback, Chili's, Macaroni Grill, On The Border, or Cheesecake Factory - I am letting her choose, since I can't find my way out of paper bag lately. LOL

Well, I know that this sounds a little ridiculous.... Because I thought that it was ridiculous.

But - we got our appraisal back. The amount that it was appraised at was fine - but they said that there was paint chipping off of the garage frame and it needed re-painted before they would give us a loan (It's an FHA and because of the whole lead based paint thing...)

So, rather than us wait another year and a half to hear about another appraisal and have them forget to do it again. We went over there last night and painted it ourselves (with the blessing of the sellers ((of course)) and our realtor.)

They should re-appraise it tomorrow. I'm just hoping that the paint sticks and doesn't peel off. It's oil based and OF COURSE it's supposed to rain tonight.

So - if all goes well - that's our last hurtle... Wish me luck.

You wouldn't believe how many eye rolls I got and how many people thought that we wre being ridiculous that we were doing that to a house that we don't even own yet. But - I'm excited!! And if that means that it speeds up the process even a little bit - then I was fine with it!

Thanks for the support NC, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one going to drastic measures for a house that's technically not even mine yet. But I wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't 'MY' house. KWIM? I knew that this one was mine 5 minutes after I looked at it the 1st time. I can't wait!

I am getting really excited to start cooking again! I'm looking forward to all the little domestic things that I'm sure will get old really fast.

But it will be MINE! Can't wait! And I can't wait to show my MAYers pictures finally!

Just got back from the grocery store and the park.

RF - don't feel bad, you won't believe the stuff we have done to the other house and we won't own it until next week! We are just going to be so pressed for time once it closes to get it painted and carpeted that we have to be doing this stuff ahead of time - extensive cleaning, repairing drywall, sanding walls, taking off border, etc.

If I could - I would be inside painting, but we can't get inside until closing. I am starting to forget what it looks like in there!

They took the listing off the website, so I can't even be a creeper and look at it everyday anymore like I used to and picture where my furniture will go. I may not paint it yet though. It's a nice neutral beige color, and I am waaay too indecisive about my color choices.

Although, I already know that I want to do an African (kind of Animal Kingdom-y) theme to my dining room. And a mickey kitchen! I already bought a bunch of stuff for it when we were in WDW with my free B-Day gift card.

Ok...My gosh this town got turned upside down yesterday.

TV news trucks in SM and the paps covering the Farah Fawcett passing at St. Johns Hospital and then BAM!, the Michael Jackson death. OMG, the helicopters, the news trucks, the traffic jams, the people running all around the hospital at UCLA in Westwood. (The same hospital my mom was in.) The traffic around on the freeway was stopped as was the streets. INSANE!

We decided to go down to Redondo Beach to Outback since we hadn't been there since our last trip to Hawaii about 4 years ago and it was opposite direction of all the MJ drama. Had a traffic down there, a car was on fire. Very good food at Outback! Had a filet with garlic mashed and bloomin' onions! On the way back up, ran into more traffic, a car had flipped over on to it's roof. Crazy.

Got home had some chocolate cake with chocolate dipped strawberries that our caretaker made for us. Yummy! After that, we just crashed and went to bed. What a day...
