We're going :goodvibes I hope we love it, but I'm not holding my breath. The houses in our price range have all been pretty terrifying. And not just in a metallic wallpaper, shag carpet kind of way... :hippie:

Like a 'this house will fall on top of me while I sleep Or I'll get electrocuted if I turn on the light in the living room' kind of terrifying. :scared:

Things are just OK. I don't want to drag you guys down into my crap - so I'm trying not to unload everything right now. :sad2:

I just hope everything turns around soon.

Shelly- well Amen, sistah! You got great news on the house situation! Yay!!! That is wonderful!!!!!!!! Sorry about your DH. That stinks! Hopefully the surgery won't be an immediate thing and if it is, then it won't be awful and will be a quick recovery time.

Rf- honey, it's not just your price range that has terrifying homes in it. I saw some DOOZIES let me tell ya. My facorite was the one in Rochester NY where I SWEAR there was a dead body in the house somewhere. The realtor kept talking, pointing out the positive things about the house. i stopped her and said "cindy don't even pretend you don't smell that." She said "i think they must have a cat." I said
"I know what cat poop smells like. THAT smell is dead body. I'm a nurse, I know the smell of death."
Then of course, the empty house in NY we went into that had rosary beads, black candles in a circle, a picture of Jesus on the cross halfway on the wall and Playboy and Penthouse mags scattered all around the floor. Um, can yous ay Amytiville Horror? That place creeped me out.
ANd of course I can't forget the house that had two old people, who were obviously in the last stages of death-- hooked up to oxygen on medical beds in the formal dining room -- all the while Spaghetti with 250000 cloves of garlic simmering on the stove and a yappy shaking dog and one of Beethoven's symphonies blarring so loud inside that you had to yell to one another "I DON'T THINK THIS IS THE ONE!"
See? You aren't the only one. I have more stories.:rolleyes1

Good luck finding your perfect spot.

Hi Trix!
The timeshare my IL's own is thru RCI. They are able to trade with DVC.

Hi Mari!! SOunds like your DH's plan is going to be fun. He must have been impressed with all you guys were able to do. :)

Hi Sea! I still haven't figured out what UP is about. The kids want to see it, obviously. Thanks for the review. I want to see the ones with the Guinea pigs.:goodvibes

Hello to everyone else!

Jo

It is an adventure movie about a elderly man is ordered by the court to move into a rest home, instead doing that, he devises a way to move his home to his lifelong dream destination in South America. When he is finally there, he finds out that is not what life is all about, getting to a destination, but the adventure of it all and continuing to find and experience the all stuff you want to do. The movie is multi-layered - listen and watch carefully, there is so much there.

Shelly - Good grief girl! That is busy! I know exactly how you feel except for the buying a new house part! egads!

Lake - Just keep on packing! You're in my thoughts!

Sea - What's shakin'? And I hope it's not the earth!

This should be a link to his story and the video! I think it is pretty cool!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow....

May must be the month for us!!!! We loved that last one!!! It was super cute! It's small(ish) and it has a shared wall, but it's very well kept and we can literally walk to the T so we won't have to drive to town and pay for parking anymore!

We're going to call our lender tomorrow and get a good faith estimate, we're going to see it again on Sunday with my uncle (he does construction/concrete work) and hopefully make an offer by monday!

Pray for me that it's not gone by then :wizard: Homes have been selling like crazy around here!

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts MAYers! :snooty::snooty::snooty::banana::banana::snooty::snooty::snooty:

I think it's working!

Sending lots of good prayers your way RF... so great that you saw one that you really liked....May isn't over yet. :)

NC- great news article of Sean.
And I hope you are doing okay....lots of positive thoughts being sent your way.

Shelly- welcome to my world...haha
So very happy for you as well. I hope your Dh is ok, and that the timing of all your chaos works itself out for you.

Today I am driving to our new town to register the kids at their new school for september. :) It's a great school..and I am really happy they will get to go there. The kids will get to finish off the year with their friends at the school they are at now. For us the school year doesn't finish until June 25th. I know most of you are probably out already. I think we go back later too though.. not until sept. 8. So we will have the entire summer to get used to the area, meet the neighbours, and even make some friends before they start school, and maybe even know someone in their class hopefully.

Jodi, Sea, Mari.... Jason and I may need to possibly move up our WDW trip... possibly to late januray or early february. Partially for work reasons (a big conference and 3 week course scheduled for May 2010 that Jason really wants to attend), and partially because both of our parents are thinking of renting a place in florida for the winter and of course want us to come stay while they are there. so we may have to do an offsite thing this year and just a few days at WDW. We'll see though. Maybe I can arrange a meet up with Shelly in the winter though... a new thought for me to ponder.

Jo- have a great time in Cali. :goodvibes Bring some of that sun back with you.

okay.. gotta run... I'll check in this afternoon. I'm taking a packing break today. :)

Hello MAYers!

Top o' the mornin to ya!

Hope all is well in your corner of MAYerland.

NC- so nice to see Sean's smiling face. Hugs to you and positive thoughts headed south for the next few days- for what ever it is you're dealing with.

LAKE-- you need a break- good for you! Hope you have a great day.

RF-- oh my my my- as my Belle says. So cool you found one you love! May is the month for, well, um... MAYers!:wizard:

Shelly- hope all is well with you.

Hi Mari -- how ya doin?

Sea-- sounds like a great movie- one that I would thoroughly enjoy. I'm headed your way in 11 1/2 hours!!!

Today was field day at the kids schools. I forgot how over the top the schools here go in all that they do. Let's just say that when we pulled up and I saw 5 of the largest jump castles, bouncy houses, slides i have ever seen in my life, along with the hula girls out front, the tiki torches, the school mascot hugging the kids, the tiki god statues, the pink flamingoes and finally the Arkansas Razorback football 18 wheeler with the snortin' hog on the side pumping the music----- I seriously wanted to park my car and go have a fun time. It looked like Adventureland in WDW and I'm so not joking.
When Drew got up this morning, he didn't even want to go--- when we got to the school- he couldn't get out of the car fast enough, LOL!!!
Good thing too- b/c they all were in a bit of the doldrums due to my leaving this afternoon.

Anyway...

I'm off to pay the bills, pack last minute items and such.

I'll check back in before i leave.

Have a great day!

Jo

Hello MAYers!

I just got back from helping with the morning shift of Field Day. What a miserable time. 57 and drizzling rain all morning. Those poor kids. They all got back to the classroom and rung out their socks. I told DS I would go home and bring him back dry socks and shoes but he said no that wouldn't be fair to everyone else. :confused3 He's so sweet! :lovestruc His play went great last night and my video camera actually stayed working the entire time! :thumbsup2 It quit about 6 minutes into DS7's play last week. :sad2:

Have a safe and wonderful trip JO!

So glad you found a house you like RF! MAY is the month for us!! :snooty::goodvibes

Lake - that would be so cool if you are at WDW the same time as me!! :cool1: Hey  maybe we can talk the rest of the MAYers into the last week of January too! :yay:

Hope all is well with everyone else in MAYerland today! :wizard:

Shelly - I hope everything goes well with your DH and your sale. :wizard:

Shelly- well Amen, sistah! You got great news on the house situation! Yay!!! That is wonderful!!!!!!!! Sorry about your DH. That stinks! Hopefully the surgery won't be an immediate thing and if it is, then it won't be awful and will be a quick recovery time.

Shelly- hope all is well with you.

Thanks so much for all of your happy thoughts and well wishes!! :snooty::grouphug:

Just checking in for a sec--
Shelly- those poor poor babies- out in the rain and cold. Brrrr! So sweet your DS thought of others-- that's why he got an award.:goodvibes

I'm geting so excited I can't stand myself. I just talked to my girlfriend who's going with me and we were chatty cathy's.:rotfl:

So I guess I need to weigh my suitcase--- I'm only taking one!!!!!! Me!!! One suitcase!! :scared1::scared1:The horrors!

Trix- I decided to keep the Java bag for myself. I put a bunch of my carry on stuff in it and MCat came walking in and squealed "Oh the awesome fabulousness of Vera!!" :rotfl2:
UGH. I should've gotten her one. Please let me know if any of the Java goes on sale. I must get her some for Christmas now.
I'm digging the tiny wallet thing-y.

Okay- back to packing and repacking and moving stuff.

TTYL--
JO

Okay, where is everybody??? I see how ya are. . . I get here and everyone disappears! :lmao:

Trix- Are you having your garage sale this weekend??? Ours is next weekend, the entire community. So add that to my list of things to do! :upsidedow I will be happy to get rid of a lot of stuff though and then maybe I will be motivated to start packing. . .

:lmao:

9 hours and I'll be on da' plane, da' plane!!

:rotfl2:

I got a spray tan last night.

yeah, um, that's interesting.

Jo

But of course, I'll miss you TrixieBelle!:goodvibes

I'm getting back late next Friday night.

But I'll be on the computer at the resort a whole lot.

B/c I looked at the menu for the restaurant...
and for a *modest* meal, I'm gonna be out about $95. So I'll be going hungry a lot this next week and have time to spare.

:rotfl:

Trix- Are you having your garage sale this weekend???

Nope. We post-poned it (again). I figured since we're leaving for vacation next Saturday, the garage sale this Saturday would have been too much for me to handle.

I'm such a wimp.

But for you, missy, that's absolutely perfect timing!!! Get rid of the junk (not that you have junk, you know what I mean) before the move! And earn money for the "Secret Deluxe Fund" while you're at it! :woohoo:
