Hi Mayers!

OOOOoooh RF...that looks like fun!!! Several of those I've been to, and several I want to try...

Kona -- haven't tried, but really want to -- heard the French Toast is awesome
Grand Floridian Cafe -- we did dinner here, really liked it
Tusker House -- had lunch here, it was great, lots of variety
Sci Fi -- we had "grown up" shakes here...whoo hoo...didn't eat a meal, but loved the atmosphere!
Yachtsman -- one I'd like to try...
O'hana -- we loved breakfast here, would definitely try dinner
Le Cellier -- had lunch here -- and the BEST STEAK EVER
Raglan Road -- had dinner here on my birthday, love the live music, food was great, if you like bread pudding, it's absolutely incredible
Hoop Dee Doo -- another on my "want to try" list :)
Crystal Palace -- breakfast here -- it's so pretty, characters were a blast, very good food
50's Prime Time -- had dinner here, loved the food, atmosphere and servers were hilarious
Narcoossee's -- maybe next trip!

And you are leaving on 9/24, my birthday -- I'll be heading to DL the very next day! We'll be Disney-ing on both sides of the country!!!

I think I am going to need stretch pants after this trip

:crowded:

:lmao:

or maybe 2 seats on the plane home

Yay!!! That will be so fun! I didn't know that was your birthday week. :cool1:

We are doing a lot of repeat meals - but we loved them all so I don't mind!

Here's our new places:

Kona (been here for dinner, not for breakfast - I think this is what I am most excited for!!!)
Grand Floridian Cafe
Cape May Cafe
Liberty Tree

Well, the closest amusement park is Kennywood. As you know, I don't think it is that great. I think Geauga Lake and Cedar Point beat it by a mile, but those are in Ohio a couple hours away from Pittsburgh. We could do a meet up at Kennywood, but it will be very crowded in the middle of July and there will be no fastpasses!!!

Awhile back RF and I were talking about things we could do. There is the Carnegie Science Center. http://www.carnegiesciencecenter.org/ There are also several museums in the area. And lots of other stuff. Check it out here. http://www.visitpittsburgh.com/ Let us know what you are interested in. Depending on how far you want to travel out of the city there are even more things to do. An awesome huge outlet mall about 50 minutes north of the city, if Lena likes to shop!

You definitely want to go to Station Square. http://www.stationsquare.com/ It kind of puts you in mind of DTD. That's where we had our last MAYer Meet. We went to Houlihan's for dinner. http://www.houlihans.com/ It is very good!

As far as where to stay. . . Not sure. The Double Tree downtown is nice and centrally located. http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US...-Pittsburgh-City-Center-Pennsylvania/index.do We stayed there once before we lived so close. There is a Sheraton right at Station Square. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=693 Maybe RF has some suggestions too. . .

Probably Saturday or Sunday is the best day for us. We are thinking about going to Charlotte over the 4th of July, but will definitely be back by the following weekend.

Very reasonably priced, clean and in the center of Downtown is the Hampton Inn . That is where we stayed last year. But the Hilton would give you a great view of the Rivers meeting, and the fountain and Station Square.

Definitely do.. The Science Center, and we really enjoyed the Senator Heinz Museum as well. (across from the Hampton Inn). Be sure to take a ride up the Incline as well.

Hello All!

Glad to see the board is a back to being busy.
It's been crazy here. It has been a year since I had some health troubles, so I was back in for some scans and such. But all is looking good. Then I had some dental surgury. Still a bit of pain, but bouncing back.
Spring is here.. it will almost be 80 dgrees on Saturday... so looking forward to that and a visist from my parents, before tehy head off to Europe for 2 months. Also I am gearing up to be soccer mom again... The kids soccer season is right around the corner. Plus Jason starts his golf league on the 15th. So this weather better stay.

Jo- Congrats on your trip being paid in full. LUCKY GIRL!
Looks like your saving up for SHOES now. :)

Shelly- Glad the job has been going well and keeping you busy. All the more $ for disney, and um...SHOES!!!!

RF- Hello...and you bought SHOES too!!!!

SEA- is saving up for PGH, unless he bought some SHOES for Lena.

Kim- I hope everything goes well for DH's father. You are all still in my thoughts and prayers.

Mari - Hello!!!! Hello! Loved Marissa's prayer. hehe

KB- So glad you had another nice meet with SEA.

and now I'm off to look at those SHOES...hmmm... no canadian shipping... this is where having a husband who works state side three days a week really pays off... just ship them to him. ( But then I can't hide them like JO and Kim though..haha)

HUGS to you all.

and a very happy Easter!

Morning!

RF------- YOWZA. Are you on a marathon restaurant binge girl???:rotfl2: That is some list!:goodvibes Glad you got all you wanted when you wanted it.:thumbsup2

Lake--- Glad to hear your health is on track--- and you are going to be a busy soccer mom soon. Will you be able to carve out time to meet up with the others for the PGH meet?????

So... let's see.... today.......
I've been battleing the mother of all Migraines for the past two days. I'm on Excedrin Migraine over load. It's a bit better today, but dang- it's been a really bad one this time.

And this little gem....this morning talking to Mark- started talking about the trip-- (IN 37 days!!!) and homeboy asks if we "...Could move to the Grand Floridian".

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

THE HECK, YOU SAY!!!

He said- "no no no--- I'm just asking if we could use the same pin code now to move over there- not that we HAVE to move over there, just wondering about it."

I can't win.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I said "Look, you wanted the Poly- you're getting the Poly in all of it's Greg Brady 1970's kitschy glory. NEXT time, we'll talk the snooty patooty GF."

He left for work grinning.

I swear, sometimes he just looooves to throw a curve ball at me to watch me go off. He loves it.

Morning Jo... and thanks! :)

I'm not sure the weekend of the PGH meet works for us... we will just being getting back from the cottage. But... I never say never, and I'll see what we can do.

I may be taking a trip to NYC this summer as well, a girlfriends get away. I've never been so I am excitedly planning that.

Plus were doing Chicago as well. (With a stop at American Girl for EMMY. She will finally get her doll.)
BUSY plans for this summer!

Aside from the cottage and PGH last summer, we were kind of upset that we didn't get to do everything we wanted becasue I was helping my SIL out with her child care as she was going through a sepearation and had no $ to pay day care. So I was it!! I was happy to help, but it kind of spoiled our own summer plans. This summer!!! We're going all out!!!!!! haha

Good morning Mayers!

I have been having a very busy week at the office. Phone, faxes, emails, I can barely keep up with all the nonsense. Usually this time of year, business slows down because of tax season, but lately, my clients and prospects have been calling me, so I am not complaining at all.

Lake - Good to see you! I will look into the Hampton Inn.

RF - Great ADRs! Everything looks good.

Jo - "Greg Brady 1970's kitschy glory" - so well put! :rotfl2:

Shelly - Right now the airfare is $415.00 to PIT. Looking for a better deal. Lena has something going on each week in July, so she can't join us this time unfortunately. She is talking about wanting to see the Christmas lights in WDW - maybe we can all meet up when are there in Nov. too :)

KB - Forget about "birthday week", let's celebrate all month long! :cool1:

Sea

I have a random question. We are going to start working on our bathroom this summer and I found these ceramic tiles that look like wood. Has anyone seen/used them before? :confused3

Everyone that I have heard from that has used them seems to LOVE them - I am just hesitant because it's a small bathroom and I don't know if it will make a big enough impact.

ETA - This would be only on the floors. LOL. We're going to use regular beige-ish 8x12 tiles in the shower :)

I can't picture what they look like.
They sound very cool though.

Just a quick hi all!

Lake, glad your health is better and you have big plans for summer :thumbsup2

Jo, get Greg Brady's autograph if you happen to see him  Between the two, I'd pick the Poly over the GF, but that's 'cause I like the style :hippie: The GF is gorgeous, but too formal formal for me. The Grand Californian was great because it's all woodsy-artisan-Yosemite lodge themed, just beautiful :cloud9: But WAY too expensive -- I got 30% off and it still hurt to pay

RF, I think the idea of wood tiles are cool -- never would have thought of them. We are thinking of doing our long narrow kitchen and tiny dining room in bamboo laminate -- it's pretty and durable, and supposed to be fairly water resistant.

Sea -- YES! Birthday week! Got our hotel and ticket vouchers in the mail yesterday already! I gotta book flights next... I really like the idea of a bday dinner at Steakhouse 55...we are getting there Saturday 9/25, maybe you guys can meet up with us Sunday 9/26? Hey, you know...55...that's 22 better than 33, right? :rotfl2:

Good morning Mayers - I hope you were able to pull of a good April Fool's prank today.

Jo - Are you planning to go to any shows at WDW or see any parades?

KB - Sunday the 26th is perfect! What time should I book the reservation for?

Lake - What are you planning to do this summer?

Hi Mayers! My baby is 6 today!!!! You'll never guess what he wants to do for his birthday. One hint- it's south of me and costs more than we have right now. ;)
