:grouphug::grouphug::flower3::flower3::grouphug::grouphug:

A huge heartfelt thank you to my MAYers for sending such wonderful Birthday Wishes my way.:snooty::snooty:

We got home from Carolina late last night and I woke to Birthday snow this morning-- so it's been QUITE the Birthday.:goodvibes

I will catch up with everyone over the next few days-- I need to go back and read what everyone's been doing--

Thanks again for the Birthday greetings!!!

Jo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all...... Please don't get me started on AG.... it is WAY TOO expensive for my blood... Marissa is so spoiled.... she has so much AG stuff from my sister and mom..... thank god i don't have to buy it..... her doll is actually in the "hospital" now.... then my sis is taking her to get her hair done.....please.....

Well - the Christmas holidays are officially over at DLR today. WHEW!

We did a few last things...got our picture with a Goofy Santa. My wife got a new t-shirt yesterday.

The holiday fireworks were canceled because of the winds. :( But they did make it snow for us!

And not wanting to pass up the last day to get our 20% AP discount, my wife got a new jacket too. Lucky duck!

Tomorrow starts the ride closures, painting and refurbishing of the shops and draining of the Rivers of America. No Fantasmic! until the end of May. :(

Sea

*Seacrest wonders why Lake doesn't get her daughter a doll from the "Canadian Girl Store".*

Trust me Sea....If we had them...you know I'd be all over that!!!!! I am a Canadian through and through.

There is something called a Maplelea girl, but not the same quality, and accessories. So if I was to ever spend the money I would want it to be well spent.

Plus my Canadian Girl can relate to all of the AG girls, since Canadians and Americans share many moments of history,
and peoples of different nationalities and races here.

:)

Snowing here today!! and slippery!
School bus was 20 minutes late. The kids said they didn't want to wait, so I drove them in. Ah...the joys of winter!

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes Happy New Year!!!

Happy (belated) birthday Jo!!!! :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo:

So, I have a question for everyone about how to do window treatments for a really huge window in my living room. I am lost.

I have super '80's blinds in there right now and I am ready for them to go soon! I would say that the window is probably 8' wide and 6' tall. But I need to get some solid measurements. I just want to know if anyone can send me a link to show me HOW to make it look nice with a window that huge.

I was thinking of doing 2 smaller rods and getting 4 panels - but I can't picture whether that will look ghetto or not. LOL.

Snow, Snow, and more Snow here. :sad2: Good grief! But apparently not enough to cancel school. So back to school the boys went this morning. They weren't too thrilled about it!

Guess it's a good day to stay inside and work on my TR! :goodvibes Hoping to get that finished up soon. Only 3 more days left to report on.

Glad you made it home from SC safe and sound JO!

So let's talk about your MAY trip this snowy morning!! It's coming fast! What are your plans? Where will you be eating??? popcorn::

First day back to school from Christmas break.......
aaaaaaand school has been cancelled.:rotfl:

Ahhhhhh, the joys of living where when it snows, life stops.:goodvibes

Sea--- loved the pics of your cruise and the DL reports.:lovestruc I know that your time at the cove was very special for your family and it will always be a memory that is in your heart forever. Your Mom was looking down, smiling, I'm sure.
Y'all got some great finds at DL!
And I didn't know that they drained the RoA. That is so interesting! You'll have to take a pic of it for me the next time you go. I bet they find all kinds of interesting stuff at the bottom of it. That is very weird to me. Do they just have a big drain in it? Where does the water go??? i'm so curious.

Lake--- I haven't seen the new AM Girl yet--- I'm off to see her. Belle has carried Julie around since Christmas. They got the matching PJ's.:goodvibes
I think, though, that she was more excited about getting her first Vera Bradley purse than any other toys. It was the year of the cell phones in our house-- Drew got his first one. It was a fun Christmas.

Huggie--- did you see that there's a new code out?? Room only- but you can add tix and dining if you want it.
http://bookwdw.reservations.disney....mo&promotionCode=fy10q3room&market=fy10q3room

I think it may be a better deal for you. It's the same as the Pin I got I think. I used it for 40% off the Poly.:lovestruc Hope you can use it. And--- my .02.... it's TOTALLY worth the money for the upgrade to a mod. I liked CBR too---- your girls would like it. :thumbsup2

Mari---- when do you go back to school? I hope you've enjoyed your vacation.:cutie:

Shelly--- how much snow have you gotten????? Do you need a shovel to get out your front door???:)
The weather channel had you guys enundated with the cold stuff.

Who here wants to talk WDW???
I'm totally ready for a vacation.

:rotfl:

LOL-- Shelly!!! Great minds think alike and all that.:lmao: I NEED to talk about my vacation.
Haven't really done that with you guys yet.

Okay- so as most of you know---- I was a single mom when I met Mark. Mcat was 8 months old when we started dating. So there has never been a time in our relationship where there wasn't a child involved. That, coupled with Mark's very high pressure job--- we just have found that it is best for our marriage to go on vacations at least once a year as a couple-- it's very important for us.

Last year when we went to DL-- it was only a "sort of" vacation b/c it was coupled with his work and meetings and such. And we did get to go to Hawaii-- and extended it. but still, we were surrounded by work associates- so while it was a wonderful vacation, he still felt like it was work centered. I mean- it's really hard to relax when you've got the higher ups of your company with their eagle eyes watching you. :rotfl2:Sooooo- all of this to say-----
yes, we are going back to WDW. But this vacation is going to be totally different than the others we've taken.

Staying at the POLY, thanks to the fab pin I got--
And I'm totally not going to go commando. Which is a complete shock to my system. We're sleeping in, not doing rope drops--- not going to the parks till late, touring the other resorts, playing at the pool, eating a ton and, well... relaxing.

I'm not sure I can handle the change of pace but I know Mark really needs it. So I get to go where I want-- he gets to relax-- we're both happy. B/c honestly- he didn't bat an eye when I said I wanted to go back to WDW... I think he knew it was coming. And I think secretly he was excited too, although of course he'd never admit it to anyone.:rotfl2:

Places we're eating this trip--
'Ohana*
Artist Point*
Kouzzina breakfast*
Kona breakfast*
Le Cellier
Teppan Edo*
San Angel Inn (of course )
Liberty tree Tavern (another must do--- tradition.)
Jiko*

All of the starred ones are new for us.

So we are really excited!!:goodvibes

Any tips for a relaxing vacation?

I can post days and parks and plans if anyone is interested.

Okay, Jo is it totally weird that I can answer your questions before you even ask them??! :snooty::rotfl:

You're plans look awesome! :goodvibes I don't know where you would get such great ideas for a slow paced relaxing WDW trip. . . :rolleyes1

It makes me wish we were going in MAY! Can you believe it has been 3 years that we have all been chatting? Wow, I remember when we were all planning our MAY 2007 trips. Remember how many of us there were?! I remember the days it was hard to keep up with the thread it was so busy. We sure have come a long way. We've had our ups and downs. Times when the thread was busy, times when it was slow. Times when the thread was fun & filled with lots of laughs, times when we were there for each other during hard times. Times when we had MAYer Meets!

Wow look at me getting all sentimental! :rotfl: I guess this time of year makes you reflect on the past year/years. That, and the fact that I have recently found out that someone I thought was my friend really wasn't that good of a friend after-all. So I am really grateful for the good friends in my life.

:snooty::grouphug:

Great pics/report Sea. I really like your wife's new jacket! :thumbsup2

Shelly--- how much snow have you gotten????? Do you need a shovel to get out your front door???:)
The weather channel had you guys enundated with the cold stuff.

Like I said -- snow, snow, and more snow!! :scared1: They are really keeping up with the roads though and the temps are up from yesterday (it was 9 degrees when we went to Church), so I guess that's why no school closures. But it is STILL snowing!

Shelly - So sorry to hear about your troubles with friends.... But we are here.... I was thinking the same thing that we have been all chatting for 3 years.... you are getting me all sentimental here...

I definitely am interested to hear all about it Jo!

I think that you'll really love O'hana for dinner. :cloud9: I'm so jealous!

I think you'll love taking it easy on your vacation. You guys deserve it! I vote for you guys to go and lay in the hammocks on the Poly beach, or sit at the beach at the BC and just look at the lighthouse. :lovestruc Those were some of my favorite memories from our honeymoon trip. :thumbsup2

And, yes the MAYers are absolutely here for each other. I love this thread! It means so much to have people that you can talk to and trust with things that other people just don't understand. Sorry that you found out that you can't trust someone and they aren't who you thought they were. It's a terrible feeling. :sad2:

:snooty: :grouphug:  :grouphug: :snooty:

Awwww, Shelly- you got all sentimental on us.:lovestruc Made me smile-- we all have definitely been thru a lot these past 3 years! And we all have that MAYer Wonder Twin powers, you know.
I do wonder about a lot of the old posters-- JC and DMM and some of the others who left us.

Glad Huggie is back... we've missed you!:goodvibes

And Shelly-- I am so very sorry that you've had someone close to you let you down. It does make you thankful for the true friends in your life when soemthing like that happens.

Well- you know us-- the MAYers have to stick together-- thru all kinds of weather.:snooty:

RF---- that sounds like a wonderful, relaxing time!! I like those ideas. I am looking forward to seeing WDW thru a relaxed POV, not rushing around like a crazy woman trying to get to RD and such.

Props to Shelly for the relaxed vacation ideas.......... I'm totally biting your rhyme.:rotfl2:

Mari-- Kouzzina is a new Greek restaurant on the Boardwalk. I'm going for Breakfast b/c they have Greek yogurt and granola on the menu. I love that-- in fact I'm eating it right now-- I've heard mixed reviews on it.

Okay-- I'm going to post alllllll of my plans..... thanks for wanting to hear all about them guys.
