Hi everyone!

Our poor MAYer thread. It seems like most of us have jumped ship.

Well, yesterday my cousin came to my house and I made him and his girlfriend dinner and he looked at my bathroom. He seems to think most of the damage in there is only cosmetic, and that we can fix the whole thing (rip out plaster walls and replace with green board, replace bathtub, wire for an exhaust fan etc etc) for about $1,000! So that's really good news.


Also - I'll be in WDW in 78 days!!!!!!

How's packing going NC?

Hi! - Sorry been incredibly busy this week at the office. Normally, summer is low key, but since I got these new government contracts, things have been buzzing and lots details have arisen.

I am also getting prepared for a huge 4 hour business mixer meeting on the 22nd. About 3,000 people attend. It is one the only mixer meetings that I do because of the quality of the attendees.

Finally, last night I got my pictures transferred from my wife's laptop to my desktop. I will try to put something together tonight or tomorrow morning about our trip to Kauai.

We have friends coming in from FL tomorrow afternoon. We are meeting up with them at DTD for dinner. I think we might be going to the parks with them on Sunday - don't know about that yet.

Next Saturday is DL's 55th birthday! Definitely going to be at the park to celebrate.

Our WDW trip is coming so fast now...4 more weeks! I have to go to a three day conference right before we leave for WDW - thankfully it is at hotel near LAX, so it is only about 20 minutes from my home.

Oh, and the cat needs to see the vet today...don't ask...so, as you can tell, lots on my plate, LOL!

I haven't forgotten about you guys!

I've was thinking last night, and just wanted to say.
That I have always enjoyed the mayer board for it's people and our friendships that we have created across miles and borders. It hasn't just been about who was going when, or staying where. It was for me more about the compassion, and kindness and the sharing of our joys and even sadness...and knowing we could share our lives with one another in pure friendship, with no expectations or judgement. Even if we arn't posting all the time the way we once did, or if some people have left. THE BEST PARTS OF IT NEVER REALLY GO AWAY!

I'll be happily checking in to hear all the news..... any time.

NC! I am so jealous/excited for you!!!!!!! I hope you have a fabulous trip! Take lots of pictures and make lots of memories I can't wait to hear all about it.

We did that 2 times. She LOVED it.

Well, I have a few things "staged" ready for the suitcases! I bought two new suitcases for our trip. Chris's clothes are seriously man sized. Cargo shorts take up a lot of room.

This week has of course had a little pre-vacation craziness.

Chris's poison ivy is still not cleared. We are on our 2nd prescription type treatment. I really wish he would be given a shot and get it over with, but I can't seem to get a doc to agree with me.

They are still working on our roof.

We finally have all the paper work complete for that. We have waited for months to get two papers back from the roofers. So that can be sent in.

They have been working on our roof since Tuesday and are still working. Of course they saved the section over our bedroom to start this morning at 7:00 a.m.

Yesterday a thunderstorm popped up while they were working on the section over my laundry room. So half the ceiling in there was soaked with water. The owner of the roofing company has agreed to pay for the repairs of that. I have a fan running in there today to help dry it out.

My brother and his wife were spending the week in Hot Springs. I took the kids over there to visit them as it is only an hour away. Of course we went to the local theme park, Magic Springs. It was much nicer and well kept than our last visit, but of course it does not compare to WDW!!!

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend!!!!

We leave Monday evening for Memphis.

Hi Mayers - Kauai Update #1

Very nice and clean room. Like the little kitchenette with the fridge and microwave. Used that a lot! The TV was a bit retro, but they did have cable a dvd player and free internet!

well i really was going to do my TR but now Marissa decides that she wants to go bowling and my DH like a pushover decides that we should go.... i am seriously SO tired.... but i won't bowl just hang out....

OK So i'll do my TR in parts because again I just finished my TR and i'm telling you guys it's killing me but for some reason my finger hit the refresh button and of course EVERYTHING i just typed was gone...... ok so here we go again....

Ok so after AK we went back to POP..... We ate some lunch then we were off to our room to get ready to go into the pool..... I'm telling you Marissa LOVED the pool there. So we decided to get out of the pool around 4is. we went back to the room and took showers and stuff.... I thanked god that Marissa fell asleep. I wanted her to take a nap since that night it was EMH at MK and that is where we were going. So she slept until about 6pm. I was already ready so once she got up it was just getting her ready then we were off.... i want to say that we left at about 7is to go to MK. The bus didn't make us wait as long this day..... so off we go....

So we get to MK....

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing that castle.... So I decided to head over to CP and have our dinner. I just LOVE that place.....

Did you guys notice how dark it got outside..... I was only in there for about 1 hour....

So we finish around 8:30 and I know that the parade is set to start soon so I turned and asked Marissa if she wanted to see the parade or go on rides.... She was very excited and turned to me and yelled "RIDES" so i guess it was rides.... LOL .....

Off to tommorowland we go.......

OK so we got to tommorowland .... and needless to say it was abit crowded...

So we are off to the Monsters Inc show first. Marissa LOVES it. My poor honey was hoping she got picked.... she didn't but it's ok cause she still had a good time and was laughing away. After that she wanted to get on Stich's great escape.

I was so happy because in the past she was too short to get on it. I was a lil afraid for her because I know in a part it gets pitch black. But it was ok she did not get scared.... my big girl.....

Ok after that Marissa saw the TTA and she wanted to ride that.... so off we went....

This pic was taken when the ride goes through Space Mountain. IN that section it gets dark and it's so funny Marissa had that "Where are we going?" look on her face. She was so funny. But we were able to see the parade from the ride not too much of it but it was better then nothing. I kept trying to get a decent pic but all i got waqs blurs......

Next up was Buzz Lightyears ride.... The line was about 20 min long so we waited. While in the line we heard the fireworks. Oh how I wished I was on Main street to see it. But i knew that I would be back to MK so see the parade and fireworks on another ngiht.....

She loves that ride....

Next up was Mickey's Philarmagic... this was the first time she did that one... in the past we didn't go on it... i don't know why but we didn't...

She loved it..... and then When she noticed Donald duck behind us at the end she started cracking up.... she is too funny... once we got out of there we got back on line cause she wanted to do it again..... she is funny.....

We went to go onto It's a small world as we were on line the ride got stuck.... I made a quick u turn... so we went on peter pan better....

She wasn't too thrilled with that one. I guess she felt it was a little boring but I LOVED it.... just as I remember..... Remember Marissa never got on all these rides because in the past she was a lil afraid of all the rides because of the snow white ride. But this time around she wanted to get on all of them...

After that we went back to It's a small world.... I'm telling you I still have that song in my head. But it's one of those nostolgic rides..... You can't go to WDW without getting on that one.....

On our way out of there we saw Donald Duck

It must have been like 1am when we were finally walking out of the park. It was a great night.... me and Marissa Had a great time and she still talks about it....

Next Up : Epcot

Just what I needed! And Magic Kingdom too!

I am so glad Marissa tried the other rides in Fantasy Land. Snow White is scary. You know I love the Fantasy Land rides becauseTHAT is the Disney I remember as a kid. Those were the movies that came on Sunday nights on the Wonderful World of Disney. I don't know about Marissa, but for my kids, not so much. They are more Buzz Lightyear, Lion King, Incredibles, you know the more recent Disney movies.

I guess I am just old school Disney!
