These 2 tours were mentioned as new

I did the train tour in WDW and I’m not someone who has any special interest in trains and I still found the tour completely fascinating. I will definitely try to schedule the DL train tour.

I would love to go on the train tour! Not planning to go back to Disneyland until some time in 2025, so hopefully they still have it going then. I have done two other different tours in the past, and they were great, so I'm sure these tours will be as well.

I just signed up for the train tour for May 17th! I did like that you can cancel up to 24 hours before your tour. Party tickets aren't normally refundable, so that's a nice change. I'll let the board know how it goes!

I'd heard that the horticulture tour was really cool, too. They show you the edible plants, talk about how they figured out which plants would work for the effects they wanted, color choices, etc. My friend showed me where his uncle, who was hired by Walt to do experimental gardens in order to find plants that would give the feel he wanted at the attractions and lands, tried out various species on a hillside. Now I can't remember exactly where it was but he showed it to me (from a distance) and some of the plants were still there! He showed me a lot of stuff in Santa Monica but the experimental garden may have been elsewhere; that was probably 10 or so years ago. I'll ask him because I'd love to see it again.

They also take you on the Jungle Cruise and tell you about the jungle plants and how they made the big roots 🤫. I imagine they talk about the famous palm tree. There is lots of cool stuff on that tour according to people I know who did it in the past.

Any reports on the tours? We are considering the railroad tour in August. Thanks!

The construction in NOS area may mean the railroad tour will not be available but I really don't know.

I booked a Train Tour for July...I don't think the station being out affects it

I've seen nothing from looking things up but the price on the website. I booked a Train Tour for early July

Oh good!! Let us know how it is! In the past, I think they stopped at the NOS station where the train house and water tower are, but I guess those won't be affected since the trains are running...YAY!

We did the train tour last Friday and loved it! The tour ambles about the park with plenty of stops/narration/history/background: down Main Street, through Tomorrowland, over to Frontierland, through Fantasyland ... finally boarding the special rail car from the Toontown Station. Brief sneak peek, off stage, of the Round House (beyond Its A Small World). Highly recommended -- we enjoyed it 100%!

Did they let people Film everything? Or at times said but no photos/Videos?

I did the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour yesterday.

The main reasons to do this tour are access to the Lilly Belle presidential car and to have two hours of stories about the history of railroads at Disneyland and elsewhere. They also give a souvenir map at the end.

The backstage time is very brief. You only get a glimpse of the roundhouse, from a distance. You do not get to see any engines up close.

One tip: Book an early tour time if you want to ride in the Lilly Belle. The car has no AC. When it gets too hot (above 80 degrees), circling the park while in the car becomes too uncomfortable or dangerous. I booked the last tour of the day (1pm). When I checked in, they warned that we would not be able to ride in the car but would be able to go inside, get photos/videos and sit, briefly. Turns out that brief time was 1 minute since the train is in operation and they can’t hold the train for a long time at the station.

Disney handled this well. They told me this up front and gave me the opportunity to cancel. I chose to continue since I just wanted to see inside the Lilly Belle and it was ok to not ride in it, given the weather. They also gave each guest two Lightning Lane passes for anything other than Rise of the Resistance or Racers, as compensation.

Thanks for the post. I've been considering the tour, so it's good to know how brief the backstage time is. Where are you/what are you doing when you 're getting this two hours' worth of information? I assume you're not on the train the whole time?

Personally, I'd gladly trade riding on the Lilly Belle for two MEPs if I could take a few pictures inside it! Maybe I'll book the afternoon tour and hope it's hot!

The railroad tour starts at the tour office near Guest Services. The group walks through the park, ending up at the Toontown train station. The guide points out things at various stops, e.g. names in the windows along Main Street, and the monorail and people mover tracks. The glimpse behind the scenes is behind the big doors near Small World where the parade starts. If the parade is running that day, you might be able to see some of the floats backstage.

You ride the train for a complete loop, starting and ending at Toontown station.

We did the railroad tour opening weekend and were a little unimpressed.

You are toured around different areas of the park and told tales of Walt and his love for trains. You are given a break by the fantasy land amphitheater and then given a ride on the train from Toontown. We were fortunate as our group was small so we got to move around the Lilly Belle and ride it from different vantage points. It was 74 outside and even those temps were pushing the limit of whether we could ride on the Lilly Belle.

The behind the scenes peak was the biggest let down. You get a better view of the Roundhouse while riding the train as you stand near the track and view it from the Autopia cars you see from the train after you pass through it's a small world.

The keepsake was ok. Overall we've done a few tours now and this was the least interesting so far.

I've been stalking the railroad tour dates for awhile, but the last available option still sits at Saturday, August 3. We are not there until the week of August 19, so we may be out of luck. Appreciate the tip to book an early tour for best chance to actually ride the car. But we'll see what happens...

My issue on not going was you can't record anything but the ride on the Train

I'm paying almost 200 bucks...but would like to have parts recorded. I know thats a super uncommon complaint
