There's no time to slumber we're going back in November! we came we saw and started a TR for it all!

A bit of a background in how these started: Suzi did it... Long story short we all were Dis friends just like you all reading this.. somehow we started chatting a lot more. Then Suzi contacted me asking if i would be interested in going to MOA (Mall of America) and have a great Dis meet! Of course i jumped on it!!!
Then the thoughts started. GOOD GOD What am i getting into? Are these people real? I have watched TV and all the scary things that happen out there!!! eeep! Thankfully Suzi is a real person followed by D~.. YAY! we are not going to be killed in some back woods shack!

Cool to get the backstory on how you ladies became such great friends!! :grouphug:
Ha! I married a creepy person from the internet, so I understand... haha... just kidding, he's a wonderful hubby and Dad. :lovestruc

Have to stop here. as the next installment will be VERY picture heavy! it's our fist scenic stop and let me tell you...
it is gorgeous!
.

Loving the pictures!! And I think it's so cool that you were just relatively close to my area. Can't wait for our dismeet in November!
:tink:
I'm quietly following along when I have a moment, even if not responding as much! Darn job is keeping me busy. The good thing is, it makes time pass more quickly being busy... only 155 days left now!
:hourglass

First Scenic stop!

So after our coffee/potty break I think Suzi needed us out of the car to see something and to shut D and I up. :rotfl2:

the first glimpse!

now i will just post the pictures...

a lot dark. but this was with my point and shoot which was acting weird.

we oooohhhh and ahhhhed a LOT! It was beautiful!!! This was just a glimpse of what was to come.. (we didn't know it yet..)

Once we were done and allowed to run around like kids Suzi made us get back into the van.. we had a game to catch!!!

Driving to Suzi's house.

We did make a stop at a store to grab some provisions... Which was our first sighting of a MAINE LOBSTER!

Everywhere we went they sold these little dudes!

Had to take a picture with D --- and the attack of the lobster..

Yes we were acting like teenagers.. EVERYONE in the store KNEW we out of towners... We were that loud.. Suzi tried to act like she wasn't with us.. but we followed her around like two toddlers....
we bought some water and beef jerky... Like i said we needed provisions..
Some people do alcohol.. we do water and meat..

To suzi's house we went! and i made an instant friend:

Molly! she is the sweetest cat! this is coming from someone who isn't a cat person.. I fell in love with her!

we spent a little time here before Suzi had us up and moving again (this is going to become a routine Slave driver Suzi)

We had an important game to get to! The HAWKS!

Sorry i was in Maine.. No Chicago Blackhawks (I know the NERVE!) Suzi's son Bradey's Baseball Team the Hawks!

Bill giving his son the pep-talk:

did i mention Bill? This is Suzi's fantastic husband! What a great guy!!!

wee bit high...

then he took the field!

1-2-and 3 outs! back in

Some large birds circling.. I suspect they also knew we weren't from around here

Suzi always with the tongue!

D on her phone... again.

beautiful view from the field!

D got chilly

After an exciting game we all came back to Suzi's ate WONDERFUL Grilled Chicken salads! settled in for the night we were all tired from today's travels.
Little did D i know what Suzi had in store for us in the following days!

.

Aww, you got some good ones of Bradey. And he didn't get hit with the ball that game at least :)

And BTW....it is not my fault you didn't get a picture of the Effingham sign....we stopped and let you walk across the bridge to get pictures.....ummm, aren't your usual words "LOOK UP"?? The sign was right next to you my dear! I know, I know....you were more concerned with the rapids, but still. Its your job as the official photographer to get all the good stuff.

Oh, you got a lot of great pics at the game!

The lobster attack pic made me laugh! It's like one of those black and white horror movies from back in the day!

I'm here following along too! I love MAINE!! Can't wait to read all about it!

DISNEY COUNTDOWN!!!
5 Months left!!! 155 more days!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!! It's getting closer.. and it also means another Dis meet with my girls!!! Yep we will be taking our Dis meets to DISNEY WORLD! I hope Mickey is ready for all of us...

Cool to get the backstory on how you ladies became such great friends!!

Thanks! it was a wild ride for sure!!!

Ha! I married a creepy person from the internet, so I understand... haha... just kidding, he's a wonderful hubby and Dad.

No!!! I know LOTS of people who met their husbands/wives on the internet!!!

Loving the pictures!! And I think it's so cool that you were just relatively close to my area. Can't wait for our dismeet in November!

Me too!!!! let me guess... you were 45 minutes away?

I'm quietly following along when I have a moment, even if not responding as much! Darn job is keeping me busy. The good thing is, it makes time pass more quickly being busy... only 155 days left now!

Attack of the 2' Lobstah

I'm here following along too! I love MAINE!! Can't wait to read all about it!

Oh it is so beautiful!!! I would go back in a heartbeat!!

What fun updates and great pictures. That scenery is out of this world...simply stunning. And I can't believe how big Brady has gotten since I met him a couple of years ago.

Suzi was pretending she wasn't with you? I can see that. ;)

I am south of Chicago in Manteno. We are staying at CSR in November. I love your Maine trip! I have always wanted to go. Looks so fun!

Ok Mo... You forgot, perhaps, the most imortant car ride of the whole trip! You must add that part!

Remember... Suzi... 600mph on a 35mph road. ::yes:: Vroom-vroom...

D~

Pffft.....you guys drive 700mph on an 8 lane freeway with 700 other cars 2 inches from you, but you get on country roads and you want me to do 5mph? The speed limit was 45 and I was doing 45. Actually, I think I was doing 40.....I had it all under control :)

Ok, so the 45 minute thing is so true - YES! It's a New England phenomenon!!! Pretty much everywhere is 45 minutes from everywhere else... it boggles the mind! :crazy2::headache::crazy2::headache:

I have to defend Suzi, even not being there, but being familiar with those country roads... they were made to be driven! :drive:

Man!! Ill be missing yall by a hair if plans hold out. We are at 148 days on our countdown. Our last day in the parks is sat 11/14 and then we leave Sunday morning. Your trip sounds like so much fun!! But I think anywhere with you girls would be fun!! Your pictures are beautiful, I have never been to Maine, but my daughter has friends that live there. We live in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, and it take forever to get anywhere here, the nearest city is 2-21/2 hours away..our nearest grocery store is 30 minutes from us..its beautiful, but can get treacherous in the winter..the kids missed over 30 days of school this winter because of snow..the buses don't run when it snows..I am loving hearing all about your trip!!!

In my defense... I live in the country... Quite rural actually... So I drive both on back country (dirt) roads and also freeways... Best of both worlds = perfect driver. ::yes:: lol. Had to say it, couldnt resist.

In Suzi's and Mo's defense... I would never ever really balk at either of their driving... Teasing is all in good fun...

For the record, both of them drive very well in their own environments. I think i could easily drive in Maine, as it is very similar to my rural 2 lane hwys in MN, however, I have no desire to drive in Chicago. And I am very thankful to both of these girls for safely chauffeuring me all over tarnation on both trips. :thumbsup2

Okay sooo 2 of my FAVORITE places in one PTR Maine and WDW! As Stacy would say Uh-maze- ZING

Seriously you three look like you are having the best time. You were in MY airport with MY moose!

I love the pic of D on the phone with all the Dunks gift cards in her cup holder! America runs on Dunks... but those things are worth their weight in gold in New England! LOL!

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

I'm glad you had such a great trip, can't wait to hear more about it! The scenery looks beautiful already.

That's low, not letting Hawks fans buy tickets! I'm watching game 5 right now...Go Patrick Sharp! (he's my favourite... :lovestruc lol!).

Whenever I read "D~" I hear it as "D-Squiggle"...Like T-Swizzle. :rotfl2:

Great report so far.
We are in the beginning of planning a trip for this fall. I have been entering contests on line and on Wednesday, last week, I got an email from Food Network saying we won a trip to Disney! I am very excited but nervous at the same time. We even won airfare and I haven't flown since 1992! My kids have never flown. I am showing them the pictures of your flight to Maine, cool pictures.
