There's no time to slumber we're going back in November! we came we saw and started a TR for it all!

My goodness, girl, you take some awesome photos!!! I am always awed by your raw talent! I'll have to get your autograph next time we meet up! You know, so I can say I knew you before you were famous...

As for the meat loaf at 50's, it came highly recommended by our favorite concierge at French Quarter, but I didn't care for it. Many people rave about it, so maybe I had an off day. Who knows? The pot roast was not particularly fatty any of the times I've had it. That's all I ever get now. However, when pot roast is involved, there is always that chance to get a fatty piece. I would send it back if it was bad. Then stand back for the repercussions!!

Have you ever eaten at Whispering Canyon? They have a lot of fun there as well. We've eaten there twice and did not get a fun server, but enjoyed the antics of others. Both times were for lunch and maybe it gets rowdier in the evening. But they get all the kids up and romp through the restaurant whooping and hollering. Plus some fun "secret words" that, if you say them, look out! Food was good too!

Your posts have a history of causing people to snort various beverages through their nose! There have been many times I was grateful I didn't have anything in my mouth while reading!! Sorry Matt had to experience that at school. Wonder why it started bleeding, though. Does he have a problem with that, or just because he got clocked the other day?

Loving your plans for HS for your first day. I have to say I don't know how you drive straight through then hit the parks when you arrive. I would be dead! I guess b/c you are so much younger than I am. Then again, I tend to perk up as soon as I get anywhere near Disney!

Okay, toots, I've got to get to my sewing room. A quick stop over at D~ and Ariana's reports and I'm out of here. Have a great day!

ETA: I have always wanted to go to the field museum! It sounds fascinating. Hope you'll post some pics….

Yep like Kathy said, do Characterpalooza! Go to Kenny the Pirates web site (I will send you an invite on Facebook). Pay for the membership (I think it's a one time fee of $3.99) and then add the web site to your phone. I used that app more than I used the Disney one when I was down there!!

I definitely love all of your plans, I know you will have a blast at 50s Prime Time!

Nevermind on the invite, I just saw you already like him on Facebook. I invited Kathy instead. :rotfl:

oooohhhh...did not know about this either...Mo, would you pass along the info in an email? :) Also, check your email for some info I sent you that may impact some of your planning.

Love the photos and can't wait to see the ones from today!

Your family definitely needs to try Whispering Canyon too. That is a must do every trip for us. We normally do it on the evening we do a water park (cause we are hungry and like the all you care to eat skillet and unlimited milkshake refills...yummy creamscicle one!) We aren't doing a water park in May, but we are still doing WCC. The only two of our group that has been there before is me & my sister, so we plan on having a little fun at the others expense.

We have had hit or miss interactions with 50s PT ...funniest was when the boys were younger, and they sent them to the restroom to wash their hands...neither boy paid attention to the soap so they were sent back to do it again.

I need to get back to updating my PTR...I am a slacker...but it is almost to the end of my "busy season" (Yeah Monday!), so hopefully I will get caught up with things and be a better DISer next week.

Have fun today with the kiddos!

Lynn

Those pictures are great. Lake Erie is still mostly ice covered over here. I haven't walked down lately to get a close look.
It sounds like you had an interesting day with Matt. My cousin used to get bloody noses like that. We went to school together and were in the same class in elementary school.
You really have to walk around the resort. It is so amazing. We also walked over to POP a couple of times. The resort is my daughter and her husband's favorite resort. I actually like the food at POP better than AOA.
We've driven to Disney for all of our trips and gotten to see so much of the South that way. We like side trips.
Liz

Hooray for Hollywood Studios! This is usually a half-day park for me. I hit exactly 6 things there normally (ToT, RnR, TSM, Great Movie Ride, Muppets, Star Tours). Then I'll also pop back in after my AK day to see Fantasmic. This time though, between the Osborne Lights and doing things I normally wouldn't do but that I think my aunt & uncle will enjoy (Motor Stunt Show, Beauty & the Beast, etc), I'm planning a full day there. Maybe we'll take a midday break because we're old and love our naps. :faint: Then go back that night for dinner and lights and Fantasmic. I'm thinking about trying to catch Characterpalooza also, which will be a first for me!

I need to do more shopping this next trip too. I didn't do nearly enough last time, I was so focused on rides. Since my aunt can't ride much (severe motion sickness), I'm going to get to take it a little slower and she and I will be shopping like crazy! :bitelip:

You already know about my 50s Prime Time experience :sad2:, so I'm going to try out Mama Melrose's for the first time. I've always avoided it due to the fact that it has such mixed reviews. (But then again, so does Coral Reef, which I took a chance on last trip and absolutely loved.) Have you been?

Your photography is STUNNING, girl! And what a beautiful area to shoot in! Thank you for sharing with us! :cutie:

Yes yes, what Lynn said.....try Whispering Canyon (within the first two days of your trip)....I know someone who is staying there ;)

Yes, I agree - Whispering Canyon is a very good place to eat (I've never been there, but...)... The sooner in your trip you do this - the better. ::yes:: Just Sayin'.

Ariana... Can you send me an invite to Kenny too? I'd love to have that info - even though I have no service in the parks. Sigh.

D~

Done! You should have an invite to his Facebook page plus I sent you a message on Facebook with a link to the Character Locator.

Did someone say Mom's Pot Roast at 50s PTC?

Disney20121084.jpg

No? Drats... Wishful thinking.... :lmao:

50s PTC is probably my FAVORITE restaurant! The shenanigans are so funny! Be sure to know what color the soap is unless you want to be sent to wash up again. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I'm totally here and jelly that you, D, and Suzi are going to hant out! :snooty:

Thanks Ariana! I am planning to take care of this, this morning. :)

You can come too Liddy!! We'll make room

Hmmm... Personally - I prefer the fried chicken... but you can't go wrong with the PB&J malt... Mmmmm.... And that fudge brownie.... Yummy - they are all on my list for the next time I eat here. And for those of us who really have a problem - you can belly up to the bar with out an ADR and just order the malt... BTDT. ::yes::

I wish Liddy could join us... I looks like she will be there and gone before we get there. Sigh.

D~

You can have the app without the subscription but it doesn't give you all of the info available. The characterpaloosa info is only available with the paid subscription. I'll send the link to both you and Kathy tonight.

THANK YOU!!! I did join.. Didn't have time to play with it yet!

I love the snowy shoreline. Where did you take these pictures?

Cal Park. its a beach near my house

But sure to check out Monroe Harbor when you are shooting pictures. I walked there yesterday from the office and there was still ice in the harbor. If it hasn't melted in two days then it should look pretty cool.

I haven't had the time to drive up north! I am SO READY FOR WARM!

So exciting! We probably won't be getting back to DW for a couple of years but when we do it will be interesting to see where we stay. Doug and I are fine at Pop although someday I would LOVE to try Poly. But Abi wants to go back to Pop and Maddy really wants to go to Art of Animation!
So fun.

What to do what to do! if i have a vote in YOUR trip i would vote Poly.. since you've never been! Or since the girls are still small you can do AoA Then go over to Poly!!!

I think you made a good choice with your week. I think it was more crowded on our trip because of free dining but the second week we were there (the week you are going) was definitely a LOT less crowded than the week before.

you had coats on.. I don't know about this...

sorry I have no idea how to quote just a section...

If you highlight the sentence it will give you the option of quoting it!

I think maybe????? You might have been there the week before us? :confused3 We were only there for 3 nights and two days before a cruise, sept 18-20

Yep we were there the week before! Ohh a cruise.. I am seriously considering this!!!

We did like the cars section quite a lot, we originally had booked Nemo but they were doing some weird unplanned maintenance of the Nemo buildings and we got the dreaded call a couple of weeks before hand that we couldn't stay in Nemo so Cars was actually our second choice...but we liked it. Didn't see any fireworks though from our room but we shut the parks down both days we were there. My poor kids got dragged from dawn to dusk since we only had two park days :rotfl2:

I wouldn't have done the same!!!

The rain only got to us on our MNSSHP night ( didn't get to see the headless horseman lead the parade cuz the route was wet) and then again on the 20th we did DHS early entry and it poured, like get out your Arc and row kind of pour until about 11:00 that day.

That's sad.. But that means you have to go back to witness such an amazing sight! That rain was ridicules!

Great pictures Mo (as you know I voted for your picture in the contest). Have fun with the new camera taking pictures at the Museum with the kids.

Thank you so very much!!! The other contest is weird I cannot figure this thing out. BUT the main Guru dude did pick my picture of the castle in the BLUE contest!!! So that is something right?!?!

Loving your photos, as always!

Have fun this weekend with the family and your new woobie.

Umm YEah... I have a story about this..

Two twirling flower smilies and not one of a camera? Seriously guys, get it together. :confused3

WHAT IS THAT ABOUT! The dis better rectify THIS!

My goodness, girl, you take some awesome photos!!! I am always awed by your raw talent! I'll have to get your autograph next time we meet up! You know, so I can say I knew you before you were famous...

Thank you!!! and just stop. I just like taking pictures.. Nothing compared to some out ther.. But do hope to become like them!!! I just don't see using a lot of photoshop.. May as well make a total picture from a computer!

Im not a HUGE meatloaf eater.. Unless it's mine. Fried chicken? too greasy.. I don't know. BUT I AM EXCITED to go here!!!

Are you talking about the word "Ketchup?" We haven't been but i have read some bad reviews on this..

I don't mean too!!! It's just my life. it's chalk full of laughs and adventures!!! it's about to get fun again!!! The weather is finally starting to turn which means a lot of FUN OUTDOORS STUFF TO DO!

Loving your plans for HS for your first day. I have to say I don't know how you drive straight through then hit the parks when you arrive. I would be dead! I guess b/c you are so much younger than I am. Then again, I tend to perk up as soon as I get anywhere near Disney!

Yeah i think it was a cool idea to start where we left off.. If we have a nap before getting close to Disney we both will be fine for a couple more hours.. LIke you said once you hit Disney you perk right up!
Not looking forward to the LONG drive.

Okay, toots, I've got to get to my sewing room. A quick stop over at D~ and Ariana's reports and I'm out of here. Have a great day!

What cha working on?

ETA: I have always wanted to go to the field museum! It sounds fascinating. Hope you'll post some pics….

It is the least favorite Museum around here. but they have Vikings AND VODOO!!! I need pictures of that! promise to write all about it next.

oooohhhh...did not know about this either...Mo, would you pass along the info in an email? :) Also, check your email for some info I sent you that may impact some of your planning.

I will send it along! Yes i go the confusing email you sent me.. I do have to call them.. I hear the husband gets a card too?? I will write more in my email to you..

Love the photos and can't wait to see the ones from today!

Me either.

Your family definitely needs to try Whispering Canyon too. That is a must do every trip for us. I don't know.. Like i wrote to Lois.. i read such bad reviews. Fun at other's expense is my middle name didn't you know that? FAOEX <-- middle name.

We have had hit or miss interactions with 50s PT ...funniest was when the boys were younger, and they sent them to the restroom to wash their hands...neither boy paid attention to the soap so they were sent back to do it again.

I do hope we have a fun server!!!! i am ready for it!

I need to get back to updating my PTR...I am a slacker...but it is almost to the end of my "busy season" (Yeah Monday!), so hopefully I will get caught up with things and be a better DISer next week.

HA! I am trying to keep up with work AND the Dis... not working to my benefit! but if someone comes in my office i always look busy! HA HA

Have fun today with the kiddos!

Lynn

More on this in a moment.

How exciting! I loved your last PTR and TR- I can't wait to read this new one as well!

YAY!!! Glad your coming along for another fun filled ride!!! this is going to be a lot of fun!

Those pictures are great. Lake Erie is still mostly ice covered over here. I haven't walked down lately to get a close look.

Thank you! we finally are in some temperatures where everything is melting.. i am very excited!

It sounds like you had an interesting day with Matt. My cousin used to get bloody noses like that. We went to school together and were in the same class in elementary school.

every day is an interesting day with Matt.. this kid is nonstop That's fun you got to go to school with family!!!

You really have to walk around the resort. It is so amazing. We also walked over to POP a couple of times. The resort is my daughter and her husband's favorite resort. I actually like the food at POP better than AOA.

really? What's better at Pop? Oh i plan on walking around this time.. regardless if my legs are going to work with me or against me again i will look around!

We've driven to Disney for all of our trips and gotten to see so much of the South that way. We like side trips.

I wish we had more time to stop and look around!!! there are so many places i want to go.. most of them would be without kids...

I'm thinking about trying to catch Characterpalooza also, which will be a first for me!

I LOVE HS. everything about this park screams TAKE A PICTURE OF MEEEEEEEEEEEE... so i plan on doing just that this time around. AK is our half day..

I need to do more shopping this next trip too. I didn't do nearly enough last time, I was so focused on rides. Since my aunt can't ride much (severe motion sickness), I'm going to get to take it a little slower and she and I will be shopping like crazy! :bitelip:

DTD or Disney springs?!? whatever we are calling it now. I will spend a lot more time!!! can't wait to see what you get! it is your birthday trip after all!

Nope. Haven't been at either one.. A friend of mine's brother is a chef there.. I shoudl probably try it!

Your photography is STUNNING, girl! And what a beautiful area to shoot in! Thank you for sharing with us! :cutie:

Thank you tons!!!

So i take it the two of you will be eating here on my first two days there?!?!

Those pictures you took are beautiful.

Thank you so very much!!! your opinoins mean a lot.. I am always trying to get better these aren't perfect but i am getting better!

Did someone say Mom's Pot Roast at 50s PTC?

OMG LIDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have missed YOU!!!!!! Look everyone Liddy's here!!!!!

Disney20121084.jpg

No? Drats... Wishful thinking.... :lmao:

Of for the love of all that's yummy.. this looks amazing.. you have SOLD ME ON POT ROAST! yep. Mine.

50s PTC is probably my FAVORITE restaurant! The shenanigans are so funny! Be sure to know what color the soap is unless you want to be sent to wash up again. :thumbsup2

This is my #1 restaurant i am looking most forward too. i cannot wait for the shenanigans to ensue! You know i will try my hardest to be naughty without being obnoxious. Zack maybe my target....:rolleyes1

Oh, and I'm totally here and jelly that you, D, and Suzi are going to hant out! :snooty:

I am really excited about this. about time we get to spend a little Disney time together!!! YAY! don't forget you can ALWAYS come down too!!!

You can come too Liddy!! We'll make room :)

See we are all on board. you should come too!

Sigh.

D~

BTDT? Acronyms are a pain in the tookus.
Still the thought of a PB&J malt does NOT sound appetizing. Yet i want to TRY it since you all have this fascination over it..

I'll be the one who steps up and says No to the PB&J milkshake.

My DH and I tried it cause so many people rave about it.

It just wasn't to our liking. I didn't think there was any jelly taste to it and the peanut butter was meh. So, if you happen to not like it, you will not be alone! :)

you had coats on.. I don't know about this...

Just NEVER go at the same time as us. I don't think it's time of year. I think it is my family. We have been to Disney World twice now. The first time was freezing (Not just one coat... layers of coats) all but about 2-3 days and this time was cold half of it. So.....

BTDT = Been There Done That. ::yes::

If you don't eat all of your PB&J, I'll eat it for you... It's THAT yummy! And you know how picky I am about my food. ::yes::

Not sure if we are eating at WC? But I know we are staying in the same resort it's in... So we could probably make the effort to meet up? Hehehehe...

D~

I have to try it... only to say i did... if i like it i owe D a huge apology. time will tell on this.. But i am a bit scared... LOL!

Normal temps for November is 79 down to 50 at night.. i can do this.. But Coats? In Disney?!?! When i read reports i am just baffled when i see people in jackets!!! When we went in 2011 we did have to buy sweat jackets it was chilly... Thankfully not during the day!

BTDT = Been There Done That. ::yes::

I am not with the cool kids and acronyms..

I just don't know. it sounds disgusting.. I will try it.. I don't have plans to eat there... SORRY! we are ALL ABOUT 50'S which i am shocked your not going there?!?

OK I can toss in yesterday for you!

Tuesday night.
I am proud just to know what day it is.. as i have been all screwed up today! thinking it's tuesday.. thinking it's next week.. Today is thursday March 12th.. I hope.. i do have to go to job #2 right after this job.
SO back to the program without too much derailment and insane thinking processes.

TUESDAY night i cleaned ALL the cameras. Charged all batteries formatted all SD cards. I am JAZZED up about going to the Field museum!! so are the kids. Yes i pulled them out of school to go. They have NOT had a field trip since pre-school. Yet i am watching every other grade going... Whatever.. I will do it for them!
Emailed the teacher and principal telling them of my plans. I hear nothing back.. again whatever.
My step Dad (Mike) is coming with us! YAY! as you all know i adore this man.. Yet he is getting older and he isn't is ol' spunky self. so i know we will be taking lots of breaks. which is fine and dandy with me just happy he is coming along. My Mom had some errands and she wasn't able to join us.

Wednesday morning i am up bright and early! coffee... lots of coffee. Kids are up and excited to go.
we pack up the car make sure i have all cameras... the Olympus, the Nikon, my old girl and of course the NEW WOOBIE!!!! i cannot explain how excited i am to get it out and start shooting! especially at a museum. so much awesomness to be seen! Car in Drive and OFF.. no wait.. sh.. CRAP i forgot the EXTRA SD cards. run back into the house grab the whole camera bag.
Back in car kids laugh and say TOLD YOU YOU FORGOT SOMETHING. I think in my head your lucky i remembered you...

Back into drive and off we goooooooooooooooooo to pick up GRANDPA! He of course is ready (most prompt man on earth) Kids decide to say how No one ate breakfast. They talk about ME forgetting something? geesh. OK breakfast of champions Dunkin Donuts it is! Coffee for me and Step-dad munchkins for the munchkins!
back on track hit LSD enjoying the view of a blue lake interesting snow going on there... Nope nope gotta keep eyes on the road.
In no time at all we are parking the car cannot find (or i didn't know) handicapped parking?!?! park at soldier field. it's about a two block walk... dang it. Didn't want him to walk more than he needed. he is a trooper and said no big deal.
get inside pay this is part of Mike's birthday gift. and head in! take out all the camera's hand them out. get my glorious new camera turn it on wait for the angels to sing it's praise of such a wonderful piece of technology.

Nothing.
*&)$%^)&$@^%$ IS GOING ON?!?!?

well... i kinda lost sight on my own camera and forgot the battery which is still charging on the charger.. At home. Mad? Upset? idiotic? i cannot BEGIN to tell you my feelings..... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... well there isn't anything i can do about it now! Zack the little perfect soul he is says It's ok Mommy we can share this one... AWWWWWWW.. OK little bug we will share!

I will post some pictures below. NONE of them are from my fabulous new camera. These are strictly Meg and Matt's -haven't downloaded from the canon yet.

First we went to the soil room.. Where Meg and Matt didnt' take anything, I know i did..

then we went to what i was DYING to see...

VOODOO!
It was pretty creepy.. But so so interesting.

Triplets:

story:

That's all i can do for today.. I hope to have more time tomorrow!!!

Gotta get some things done here then off to job #2!

Have a pixi dusted kind of day!

Is it wrong that I :rotfl2: when you said you forgot the battery? Probably, but it was still pretty darn funny and so something you would do. You are right, glad you remembered the kids. :P

Those pictures are quite creepy but cool to see!

Oh Mo...I do that all the time with my camera...I'm constantly forgetting to put the battery back in.

You had a very nice day at least to go to the Museum. I can't remember the last time I went to the Field Museum; I prefer the Science one myself. That whole voodoo thing looks creepy.
