There's no more free leis support thread

I still care... I will always put it in the survey they send out to us. I highly suggest everyone doing that too.
We got back the adult pool by being vocal. Next leis!
But, at some point, it might be a little healthier to jusr accept the new reality, come to terms with it, and just move on, no?

Nope.... lol... survey is something quick and easy to fill out after the trip :)
Also the unhealthy thing would be not going over it, but filling our survey soo easy and healthy.

Like it or not, leis aren't coming back. Why would Disney make an effort when nobody else does? The Four Seasons doesn't do it. The Halekulani doesn't do it. The Royal Hawaiian doesn't do it. Turtle Bay - actually I'm not sure if they do it or not.

Free leis are a thing of the past, sadly.

Totally agreed. And, contrary to the main sentiment on this thread, personally I don’t think it’s the end of the world. We used to throw them out almost immediately.

I completely agree that filling out a survey with candid feedback is a good way to let management know your thoughts. Much better than people who go on a message board and try to make everyone else as miserable as they are.

Just fyi... if u are hinting I am doing that... I never made anyone miserable just from stating I want leis back.

Yes. I appreciate the cultural significance, but I don't wear them for long either. They're too itchy.

Nope, no passive aggressive shade against anyone in particular intended whatsoever.

I was speaking more of the social media ecosystem as a whole. Insert <Man yelling into the empty void meme> if I knew how to do that on this site.

Four Seasons still does. Has Aulani at least brought back the water lol

Are you sure? As of when? My In-laws were there last November, and I asked them specifically - they said that they didn't get anything. Maybe it's only for certain room categories?

There are recent TripAdvisor pictures of the Lei set up from from as recent as an August 2024 trip. If your in-laws moved from Aulani you can miss it (that happened to us once) if you don’t arrive from valet. I can speak personally to getting a lei at multiple Hawaii FS locations post 2020.

Edit: Searched TripAdvisor reviews for “lei” and the lei greeting is mentioned repeatedly in recent reviews. There is no club level type distinction - so everyone is meant to get it.

It’s been 4 years people….Put me in the “who cares” category. They all get thrown away or put on stitch within a few hours of arrival.

There are also lots of opportunities to get a leí at a member event.

Make in an option that people can prepay for prior to arrival and be done with it.
I'm glad to not have rotting flowers in my hotel room that my kids have a tantrum about throwing out.

Agreed. We never bring leis back to the room for the same reason. And, contrary to the sentiments expressed here, leis are not a guaranteed entitlement, and eliminating them is not a monumental injustice. It’s like being upset you’re not getting a free lollipop at the doctor’s office.

If anyone wants a lei, they can buy a beautiful one for a few dollars at the airport! Why do people expect the hotel to buy one for them, when the vast majority will get thrown out in 3-5 minutes?

This could be part of why they expect it. These are currently on the website.

I’m not sure pics of guests wearing leis on the website can be interpreted as a free lei for every guest. That argument would definitely not work in court. Maybe they were photos from a lei making class! Or maybe they’re just out of date and should be taken down because, as we all know, Aulani no longer offers free leis.

It is hilarious b/c they have it under the “Disney Difference” section and specifically mention entering the resort - something they WERE very proud of at one point. But yeah, no sane person thinks this would be the basis of a colorable claim.

Isn't this the support thread for those who feel disappointed/let down/a tinge of sadness over no free welcome lei - why is it a thread for people who do not feel any such way to tell us to just move on. That's not how AA works, people!

I would support a paid option. It’s a novelty to first time tourists. When I visited last year I was disappointed they didn’t have them and was really hoping for one on arrival. It was the whole marketing of Hawaii I grew up with. We ended up getting them at the Luau. Going back it was feel wasteful to get another one since we really don’t need more. Imagine people that go every year.
Offer it as a paid option with airport transfer or some arrival drink. I’d rather that then them hiding the cost in annual fees or room costs.
