There's a gator in the lake...and the castle's on fire!

I was sitting on the curb just to the left of the main hub watching the fireworks with my kids.

All my 4yo wanted to do was go ride Buzz so he kept asking every 30 seconds if they were done yet.

The almost 9yo had a meltdown when they first stopped the fireworks since they announced that the remainder of the show was CANCELLED. About 5min later they announced that they would continue momentarily.

The fireworks stopped seconds after Tink flew by so at first I thought something happened to her.

We ended up staying put and waiting for them to restart. Did Buzz, Peter Pan (had FPs) and the carousel just before leaving. It was our last night in the Magic Kingdom this trip!

I'm home again...back at work. Responsibility sucks.

Thanks for posting the real story... good to know what happened.

I blame it on my curse: in the last month I've tried to see Fantasmic, MSEP, and Nighttastic fireworks, and they've all had major problems. Mickey didn't show up for Fantasmic (spotlights went up and he was nowhere to be found), MSEP got rained out (2 nights ago), and then last night with the fireworks. My friends said they won't come with me to the parks anymore :rotfl2:

Please stay out of the parks between Aug 3rd -12th. ;)

haha! thats hilarious i cant wait to see these in july and i promise i wont call 911

It IS an effective effect (is that redundant?) and it startled me the first time I saw it, but I never considered calling 911! :rotfl: I just expected that Disney had things covered if anything really did go wrong.

I'd seen a bunch of tweets that night, wondering what happened to the fireworks that stopped abruptly and then oddly restarted, so it got me curious about what went awry.

We'd been waiting for the fireworks at the Contemporary on Saturday night and they were an hour late - just after we gave up. At least we saw some of the show from the bus stop. :)

We were there too. I came to the DIS specifcially because I knew someone would know what happened, and the DIS did not disappoint! LOL

For us, it was a blessing in disguise. We tried a new spot for viewing - in fron of Crystal Palace. Don't know what we were thinking, but the effects were not as good b/c the castle was not centered (duh! on us - of course not!) and so we got the opportunity to move to main street to watch the end. Got some great pictures as a result. :goodvibes

I guess this is what the 911 caller saw...

I could see why by looking at that picture. But come on, if Disney knew they was a problem, the show would have been stopped sooner, if not, right away.

Going in August 2010!

Wow!! We were in the pool at the Poly when this happened. I had originally thought that something had happened to Tinkerbell :rotfl: then the fireworks started again. Thanks for clearing it up for me ;)
