There's a First Time for Everything! A Christmas In November TR

I really enjoyed the rest of your report. You had two wonderful years, and I know 2011 will be just as great. We are still hoping to go this year, but no plans yet. We have friends in jacksonville getting married in May (destination wedding), then are saying they want to have a reception sometime in Jacksonville so you know what I was immediately thinking:thumbsup2

Hi!
I just found your trip report this past week, and have had so much fun going thru every page of it. My husband and I have been talking about doing a Christmas Disney trip this year, and imagine my excitement when I found your trip report! I think it's a great idea to go in mid November. I was also excited to read that you got free dining on your trip. When did you book your trip? I am wondering when I should expect this free dining package to come out so that we can book it this year. Oh, how I've enjoyed all your pictures! You just have to book another trip soon so that we can read a new trip report. Thank you for posting about all the great fun times you had, and hopefully you'll post more!:goodvibes

I know haven't posted in a while, but I just finally caught up. I am really gonna miss your trip reports:guilty: dont think i can wait until 2011 for another one:sad1::sad1::sad2:. Congrats to DD on her part in the play and I am sure you guys are so proud of her.:cool1::thumbsup2:woohoo:. Loved every minute of your trip report and the flashback!!:upsidedow

Aw, thank you so much! I am so glad that you enjoyed the TRs! I'm going to miss it too! :sad1: But there are so many great TRs on the DIS to entertain us.

We are very proud of our DD! She has already learned most of her lines. She is very excited about being the mirror. I thought she might be dissapointed about not getting to be Snow White, but she wasn't at all. The little girl who got the part is perfect for it. She has short, jet black hair and was made to be Snow White. I knew she would be chosen for that part. It was funny though, because I told DD that I thought the coolest part would be the mirror and that's what she ended up with! I can't wait for the play!

I hope if we do get to go back in 2011, all of you guys will still be Dissing and will join in on that TR too!

Rinky! It looks like you are getting ready to close up shop over here! With that said I do need to post a picture of my beautiful carriage pendant that I bought on Ebay, all thanks to you!
I love it!
I forgot to take it with to Disney last week but when we got home my pearl fit perfectly. As soon as Marc gets home from work, we'll get the picture taken and posted over here.
You see, I'm a bit laid up at the moment...
:sad2:

Oh Wigd, you don't have to worry about it right now. I just meant that you could post it over here when you got to that point in your TR if this one was still open. I don't expect you to worry about that with your arm like it is! If Shocker wants to post it, we would love to see it, but don't feel like you have to. I know you don't feel well right now.

We did have two great years in a row! Our trips were almost too perfect to be real! I don't know how we got so lucky!

I don't blame you one bit! If I had a friend in Jacksonville, I'd be thinking the exact same thing as you! :rolleyes1 Sounds like a great plan to me! ;)

YAY! A new reader! :yay: I know it's late in the game, but I'm still glad to have you join in!

Novemeber is the BEST time to go for the Christmas stuff IMO. :santa:

I booked our '09 trip in August, and that was when the free dining offer came out if I am not mistaken. Usually the FD offer comes out in the spring (around April) for the months of Aug/Sept. Then, for the last two years, another FD offer has come out for Oct-Dec. But it is never a gurantee that it will continue to be that way. In '08, the fall FD was only offered to Disney Visa cardholders, so you may want to check into that. In '09, it was open to everyone, but you could only get the QS dining plan if you stayed at a value resort. I actually got a pin code email during the summer that offered me the regular dining for free no matter where we stayed. That's how we got FD on the regular plan and stayed at Pop. Good luck with that. FD is the best deal on the planet in my opinion.

I check this web site regularly for the newest deals. You may want to keep an eye on it too.

I just had to tell everyone that DH and I have been trying really hard to come up with a low cost vacation for this year since we can't go to Disney. Well, DH has REALLY shocked me because he keeps telling me that he wishes we could just go back to WDW!!!:eek::eek: I think he has really been bitten by the bug! That makes me a very happy girl! :cool1: He has seen that hotels, food, activites, etc. at other destinations are very expensive, and now he truely realizes that we got great deals both years that we went to WDW. So anyway, it looks as though as soon as we can scrape up the money, we will be going back. DH even said that he would prefer not to spend the money going somewhere else and just save that and put it towards our next Disney trip! :yay: That may not seem like big news to all of you, but it is really exciting to me to know that I have converted him! ;)

Also, I have turned in my resume at DD's current school and at the one she will start attending in the fall. Hopefully, if I can get hired at one of them on a part-time basis, we will be on for another trip for sure!! Maybe even EARLY 2011 (like January possibly). Anyway, it isn't "real" news, but it's a step towards having some "real" news! :thumbsup2

I think that's great news!!! :yay: As long as there's another Disney trip on the horizon, you can have something to look forward to!

Alright, I got a little behind. But I'm back!

Seaworld looks like a lot of fun! Sorry you got so lost...that must have been so frustrating.

I LOVE all the dolphin pictures, I'm glad you lingered! My parents took me to sea world when I was 11 or 12 and I spent hours just hanging out at the dolphin tank. There was no amount of people rule or you have to buy fish rule at the one in Ohio. They didn't buy me any fish though, so someone gave me some reject fish that the dolphins wouldn't eat...it was all bent and gross, but I dangled it in the water hoping for a dolphin for a LONG time! I was surprised that they feel all rubbery, I really didn't expect that! I could have stayed there for days...my parents got really bored and went to do some other attractions!

I had no idea you could buy fun little things like that with your snack credits! That's so great that you could stock up for DD's stocking. That's my kind of economical!

I've loved every second of your trip report, I'm so sad it's over. I hope you get to go back soon!

So Happy to hear that you will be getting back to WDW sooner than you thought possible, dollar for dollar I think Disney is one of the best vacation values, but then I am bias, :thumbsup2 on converting DH and best of luck with your resume job hunting.

All Right, Rink!!!! YOU GO GIRL.....I mean dream, dream
and then plan yet another magical disney trip. Hope the
job comes through so you can make your way back to
the Happy Place very very soon!!! Keep the updates
coming on possible mouse visits and anything else you
might like to share!

My thoughts exactly! As long as I know a trip is coming at some point in the near future, I can deal with that! :thumbsup2 I wonder if I could get a ticker for a "sometime in the future" trip????

Alright, I got a little behind. But I'm back!

I know all about getting behind. Now that you have a PTR going you can see how hard it is to keep up with your own report while trying to read others as well. Just not enough time in the day! But I hope to get caught up on all of my subscriptions now that my TR is wrapping up. I'm just taking one a day and catching up. You can get WAY behind, really fast here on the DIS!

Seaworld looks like a lot of fun! Sorry you got so lost...that must have been so frustrating.

Frustrating indeed! I hate being lost. And being lost with no one around to ask directions is the worst, especially when you are in a hurry!

You sound just like me! :lmao: I thought they were going to throw me out of there! It is so hard to leave though once you get down there and they are swimming all around you! And I said the same thing about how they feel. To me it felt like a combo of suede, rubber and neoprene. I wasn't expecting that either! But aren't they awesome! I am just so intrigued by them and always have been. I'm glad you got one to come up to you after all that waiting. Maybe you'll get to go back now that you are an adult and you can buy your own tray of fish!:thumbsup2 Your "reject fish" comment has me cracking up! :lmao:

Hey, when I said I was frugal, I wasn't joking! I'm that person who reuses gift bags, saves leftover vegetables to make soup, and uses snack credits to buy Christmas gifts! :rotfl: My grandmother taught me well!:rotfl2:

I've loved every second of your trip report, I'm so sad it's over. I hope you get to go back soon!

Thank you so much! And I apprecite you sticking around until the end and posting often! It's been great chatting with you and all the other Disney addicts here on the DIS! But I don't have to say goodbye to you since I'll be seeing you over at your thread! ;)

I think that's awesome news, Rinky!!! I am so happy for you!!! Before you know it, you will be headed to WDW again!!!

I think it's awesome too! Converting DH really is a big deal! We talked more about it last night and every time I told him a price for Myrtle Beach or Williamsburg, he just said, "We could almost go to Disney for that amount!" He has compared everything to Disney. I'm so excited that he feels that way. I never thought he would!

I totally agree. I have priced several places and Disney (with free dining) is a deal that can't be beat. Every hotel that I have looked into has been way over $100 a night and DH just keeps saying, "We stayed at Disney for only $82 a night.................. and it was DISNEY WORLD!" It's hard to believe, but when you figure the price per day, both our Disney trips have been cheaper than anything else I have been able to come up with.

All Right, Rink!!!! YOU GO GIRL.....I mean dream, dream

I know, I am so excited! I never thought my DH would feel this way. He has even been talking a lot about all the little memories from our trip lately. Just last night he brought up the pirate cruise and talked about how much he enjoyed it. That makes me a very happy girl!:love::love:

Ok Rink,
Now here's a fun question for you........ What new things would you like to do on your next trip to keep up with your game of firsts?!:) There is still that rumor that perhaps the new Little Mermaid ride will be finished in 2011.

Hmmmm, that is a good question! Well, we could stay at a new resort for starters. I would love to do some resort hopping also so that we could see places like the Beach Club. We have never been to the Boardwalk either and I would love to see it all lit up at night and maybe eat at one of the restaurants there.

There are TONS of restaurants that we haven't tried yet. I'd love to go to Kona, Tutto Italia, Teppan Edo, Rose and Crown, Liberty Tree Tavern, and many more!

And believe it or not, there are still rides that we haven't done. We haven't been on Ellen's Energy Adventure, ToT, and Backlot Tour, just to name the ones that come to mind easily (I'm sure there are a few more). There is also quite a bit of entertainment that I want to see in World Showcase, like Voices of Liberty. We haven't seen several of the films in WS either.

Then of'course there is the paid entertainment like the pirate cruise that we did. I would love for DD to do the Wonderland Tea Party. And if we go at a different time of year (other than Nov/Dec) then we may be able to do one of the other parties.

We haven't been to either Disney waterpark so we would love to do that. I really want to do the snorkeling tank at Typhoon Lagoon but that park has been closed both years that we have been at WDW. There's also Disney Quest, which I think DD would really like.

And there are other things in Orlando that we are interested in as well, like Dolphin Cove (but it is soooo expensive!), and the SW waterpark. So as you can see, I don't think we will have any problem fininding new things to do!

OH! I almost forgot!!!! My dream is to take a Disney cruise! I really want a land/sea package. So that would be a TOTALLY new and awesome "first" for our family!

Boy, your question has really gotten the wheels turning in my mind! :rolleyes1

ya know rinky, the world is kinda like a magnet,
it has a way of pulling you back. Nothing quite
like escaping the "real world".....even for guys!!

Yes it is a magnet for me for sure! I just never thought DH would succombe to the forces of the mouse!

You must use your powers on my DH. Now he likes it, but he isn't a huge gfan and goes mostly for DD and me....but he keeps saying no for this year....How Rude!

I love your trip repot. Thank you for the link for the carriage pearl pendants. Do you make all of your daughter’s hair accessories or where do you find them??

Thanks for reading along with me. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I have enjoyed your TR very much also. In fact, I need to get over there tonight and see what is going on! :thumbsup2

Eh, not a lot. I've been really scarce!! But an update is planned for tomorrow so keep an eye open. :goodvibes

Aww, I'm really sorry to hear that. I know that must be frustrating. Maybe if you skip a year, he will be willing to go back in 2011. Or maybe you could do a girls only trip and take your older DD as well. Good luck with your DH though. I know how stubborn men can be sometimes over stuff like that. My dad would never go where we wanted to for vacation. In fact, he always took all 4 weeks of his vacation time every year during hunting season, and that's all he did, HUNT!!! :rolleyes2

Well thank you very much! Your welcome for the pendant link. I hope you like them if you ordered any.

My mom made all of the Disney bows. I think most of the ones she wore on this last trip were Minnie Mouse, but she made her some princess and Tinker Bell ones too. She bought the ribbon from a seller on ebay. The seller was great because she will sell you just enough ribbon to make a bow, so my mom bought about 10 different kinds and it didn't cost much at all. She even bought the clips and the little plastic Minnie Mouse heads that she stuck to the center of the bows from that same lady on ebay. This is something like what she bought:

I'll bet if you did a search on ebay you could find premade Disney bows too if you don't want to make them yourself. I just stumbled upon this ribbon while looking for the picture above and I LOVE IT! It is soooo cute! This would be precious to wear to Animal Kingdom!

I found these by doing a search for "Minnie Mouse grosgrain ribbon" on ebay. Good luck!!

Eh, not a lot. I've been really scarce!! But an update is planned for tomorrow so keep an eye open. :goodvibes

I'm sticking around until the end! I'll be there waiting to read whenever you get around to an update. Don't fret over it! :)

WOW!!! GREAT report!!! I'm not sure how long I've been on DIS tonight but I just read your entire report!!!! :) It was really great. I loved all of the pictures!!! We are doing a GF photo session, Chef Mickey's, hopefully MVMCP, and some of the other things you did on your trip so it was nice to read about them & see the photos! Your DD is too cute! It was great to watch her reactions to everything & how excited she was to be there! I have a son who is almost 2 & thats the best part of every trip...watching his reactions! (as I was reading your report, he kept saying "WOW" alot!)

Just wanted to say it was such a great report!!! One of the best I've read on DIS!!! Congrats on another trip to Disney & good luck with the jobs! Hope it all works out for you! :)

I just wanted to pop back in and say that I really enjoyed your TR and all your wonderful pics!

Congrats on converting your DH! :goodvibes It is so awesome that you may get to go back to WDW sooner than expected!!

Good luck on finding a part time job. I recently went back to work after being home nearly 5 years. I got hired on part time with my kids school. I am really enjoying it!

So sorry your TR has come to and end! Thoroughly enjoyable read!:goodvibes

Loved your update with Sea World. I definitely wasn't as smart as you though...we fed our fish to them in about 5 seconds and were gone. You were way more savvy!;)

Loved the shots you took around Pop before you left. I love the one with your DD and Pongo from 101 Dalmations. I had no idea he was that big! I just might have to make it over to Pop one day to check it out for myself!;)

Hopefully things will work out on the 2011 trip and we will see a PTR from you soon!:) Oh, and kudos to you on "converting" your DH...pls share any tips that you can!!! I am hoping to convert mine before our next trip is done.
