There's a commercial...

that drives me nuts.

It's a local jewelry store commercial. It starts off with some dorky guy saying "I need a really great diamond for my wife!"

Then a guy in a devil suit says "Go to the fancy store and spend an arm and a leg".

Then a guy in an angel suit says "At Airport Plaza Jewelers you don't have to spend an arm and a leg". (while holding up arm/leg mannequin body parts)

This commercial runs a million times a day and it's AWFUL.

Should I shoot out my TV screen the next time?

I can relate.

There is a horrible one for I think Jordans??? Furniture in Boston. Whenever I'm up there it's in the background of my TV, two middle aged men talking TO the screen saying that they won't BS you, blah blah blah. They play it so much.

Then there's the Garment District..."it's not a district...its a storeeeee". That is their actual jingle.

I think that the lower budged local commercials are more annoying than the national ones, I'm seeing a trend

There's a commercial that plays here in the Houston area for a place called Hilton Furniture. A guy with a chainsaw crazily describes their mattresses, then actually saws one in half. After he's done, he stands back up and goes, "Ohhhhhh! And that's a fact, Jack! Ohhhhhhh!!!" It's like he's moaning, or something. He looks downright insane.
There's a new one out now with him and his infant son. This time around, someone else takes the chainsaw to the mattress while he holds the little boy. Still, it's the same obnoxious mantra: "Ohhhhhh! And that's a fact, Jack! Ohhhhhhh!"
I guess I just don't get it.

Here's one doozy that played for a good portion of twenty years in the Philly area

The store was called Ideal... and the commercial had tons of older ladies in yellow/green polyester pant suits (some with stripes!).. these commercials played until about 1985....

If you've got a craving for saving
If you've got a passion for fashion
Take the wheel of your automobile
and swing on down to IDEAL!


Another one that played until a few years ago was for Betson's furniture store...this was a big one for many years...

The commercial starts with a ton of people seating in a theater (could be movie or actual live theater), they they show a quick shot of the stage or movie screen, and quick pan back to the now empty theater...

Announcer: Where has everyone gone? They've gone to Betson's!

Oh, I LOVED that Ideal commercial, they would play it all the time on the UHF channels (remember UHF?). I still remember the jingle too and can sing along. It drives my DH nuts.
Betson's is still around, except now it is called Jason's. Too many lawsuits I guess

I moved away, and didn't realize Betson's was Jason's!

I do reemember the IDEAL commercial... and channel 48 also!

I also know of driving to AC on some back road, there are STILL IDEAL billboards.... me and DH broke into the jingle last time we drove down there...

OMG!!!!

I was just telling DH about the IDEAL commercial a week or so ago when the last bad commercial thread was making its way on these boards. It always killed me, and I can still remember the women waving stupidly at the horses going by in that commercial. Is that place still open?? Cause I swear i saw that commercial in the 90s at least twice on channel 17.

And here's another Philly commercial that drove me nuts: Krass Brothers: Store Of the Stars. The guy retired a few years ago, but d@#$ did i wanna shoot my tv over those things.

Local stores always have the worst, especially if the owners, owners family, cute grandkid,etc.... appear in them. The carpet store commercial in our town is really bad. I'll spare you the details...
