8 DAY/7 NIGHT WALT DISNEY WORLD VACATION LUCKY TO GET FIVE HOURS SLEEP PER NIGHT TIRED!:)(I am the latter tired):)

Oh, I know EXACTLY what you mean!! And, I kid you not, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking last night. I had done a ton of running around this week with everything and was exhausted. I even compared it to the night we skipped Fantasmic because we just really needed sleep.

It doesn't have to be a race, you can relax and enjoy any vacation. We spend 9-12 nights in WDW, stay on property, enjoy afternoon pool picnics and see all the parks, at a very leisurely pace. We see no advantage of running yourself ragged, going commando or dying in a park opening to close. Most of the parks are open 12 plus hours, that's alot of time and taking a break to recharge is no big deal, you're on property enough days to visit the parks many times and still take a break. There's nothing worse than needing a vacation from the vacation, we don't tour that way. A 4 or 5 day trip can be like that but doubling the length of stay gives more opportunity to relax and smell the roses. We know we're coming back, 42 trips, so no sense in going commando. but if that's your style and you feel you must stay in the parks opening to close, so be it, we like coming home more refreshed from our Disney experience than pooped out.

I was just thinking about that yesterday while trip planning. I've done so much planning to this point that I'm already exhausted and wondering if it's really worth it or should i just throw the whole thing up in the air and take our time touring each world and what we do we do and if we run out of time at least we aren't dog tired when we get back home. I'm thinking it's not much of a vacation when we're rushing every place we go and having to keep punching that Disney time clock :goodvibes

And that is exactly why I take 2 weeks off work and travel to WDW for 12 nights with a 10 day hopper once a year. It is much easier to "cram" WDW into 12 leisurely days and hop about the parks with some time off to enjoy the resorts, etc. No panning, no "commando" style, and very few rope drops here!;)

Ahhh...this next trip we will be there for 14 days during FD. I am so excited, because our trip last August was 9 days and those couple of extra days really make the difference! This time we will have 2 WHOLE WEEKS! (and lots to eat!). 7 days isn't enough, Add 2 days on and it makes a whole lot of difference. Take your time going through the parks, it's no fun when everyone gets tired and cranky.

Everyone does their own thing. For me, 'relax' and 'enjoying your vacation' at WDW don't go together. When I want to relax, I go to a beach like Cape Cod or the Jersey shore. When I am at WDW, I wanna be at the parks enjoying every minute of it. If there is a park open at anytime...AM EMH, PM EMH 'til 3AM, I want to be there. I know it is crazy but that is the way I feel. If my family can't keep up or need a break, they go back to the resort and enjoy the pool and I'll go to the parks myself. They'll meet up with me later.

Again, everyone does their own thing but just because you are are crazed commando (like me) doesn't mean you are not enjoying your vacation...

We've done the commando thing a couple of times but no more. Fortunately, we have been to the world enough times that we have done almost everything. We don't try to ride every ride or see every show. We just stroll around leisurely and take in the atmosphere. Generally we arrive at the parks around rope drop and stay until we are ready for lunch. Then we head back to the resort for the afternoon to either swim or nap. Sometimes we go back to a park after dinner and sometimes we relax in our room and watch a movie. Also, we don't go to the parks everyday. If we are staying 10 days we will spend 5 or 6 in the parks.

We like to have busy holidays but we want to relax above all else.
