Seriously Disney dining, you are annoying the ever-loving snot out of me! Why on earth would there be availability at restaurants for parties of 4 but not parties of 3! There is no such thing as a table for three! You're going to have to seat us at a 4 top, so why not let us have the reservation! GAH!

Ok, rant over! :rotfl2:

Can you make the reservation for 4 and then call Disney Dining later and say you only need it for 3 people? Maybe that way you can keep your reservation. I don't know if people have done that and if it works.

Go ahead and make the reservation for 4. There's a quirk in the system where it wants to fill as many seats as possible so when you input a party of 3, it bypasses you because it wants to fill all 4 seats at the table. At some point it starts allowing odd numbered parties, but I don't know when that is. We're a party of 3 so I routinely check for 3 or 4 and have found the same results as you.

If it's a credit card guarantee res, you will not be charged for the extra person as long as you show up for the res per the dining FAQs on the Disney site. I'm not sure what happens if it's a prepaid meal (CRT or the dinner shows).

And while there aren't many tables for 3 we actually were seated at one in Boma. :)

Thamks for this. Just made my last ADR after getting the ressie I wanted by inputting 4 instead of 3 (no CC guarantee). It's been SO exasperating to try to get tables for 3 at decent times!

Does that also affect tables of 5 vs tables of 6? Wondering if i can get a couple better times if i search for 6. :cool1:

And, just to be clear, there are some tables for 3. 'Ohana is one restaurant in particular where I know they have tables for 3.

We had a table for three at 'Ohana - one side was up against the window and then each of the other three sides had a chair.:goodvibes

Thank you so much for posting this!

I made reservations for January for 3 people at Ohana and Cape May with no trouble at all.

Today I tried to make a reservation for 3 at Chef Mickeys and nothing was available..nothing anytime at all during the 3 different days I checked.
I even called and had a rep check for me..nope nothing available. She couldn't believe they were booked so early, only 9 days after the 180 day mark. She said just to keep checking back for cancelations.

Well... I just tried for 4 people instead of 3 and I immediately got our very first choice!!

Thank you!!

I have no problems making adrs for 3. We have never actually sat at a table for 3, though. I do make my adds early, but I even changed some a few weeks ago for mid-Sept. and had no problem.

Sometimes the same thing happens if you try to make an ADR for one. They'll have tables for two, but not one.:rotfl: Jiko and some of the other Signatures come to mind. I don't think I've ever been able to book a table for one at Jikos, not even when I book at exactly 180 days out. However, when I've arrived and informed them I'm a party of one and not two, there have been times I've been seated by myself at a table for four. lol

I have been trying for over a month to book a party of 3 at Sci Fi --- finally was able to book my ADR when I put in party of 4. I also was checking with both 3 and 4. FRUSTRATING yes! But it worked. Finally!pixiedust:

DISBoards this is why you rock :thumbsup2

It's like all of you have been reading my mind I am practically pulling out my hair trying to get ressies for 3 and just to take a break i look at the boards and volia!
Thanks to all!!

I'm DANCING in here and DH thinks I've lost it! :cool1:

He wanted to eat breakfast at Crystal Palace and there has been NOTHING for 5. I thought, "It's worth a shot," and tried 6. Voila! 8:05 am! In the third week of September!

I just discovered this quirk myself. I wanted a couple different times for 2 of my meals and I put in 2 rather than 1..lo and behold different times came up.

I have a party of 3 and was able to get all my ADR's online without any trouble for my December trip. I had no problem with any restaurant including Ohana, CM, Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Sci Fi and a few more...I wonder why some people are having problems???

Akershus has a lot of table like that too, we were seated at one as a party of 3 once. However, I don't think I'd feel guilty in this case making the ADR for 4, as that seems like a very unfair quirk!
