Hi,

My reservation actually notes my request, this is from a confirmation I received recently - DISNEY'S BEACH CLUB RESORT
GARDEN VIEW
PLEASE NOTE: GUEST REQ. COURTYD/LK SIDE

When I do online check in, I wasn't planning on selecting anything else since what I really want is on my reservation. Do you think that's the right idea?
Yes, when you do your online check in, do not make a request at that time. We stayed at the WL last Dec and I had discovered that my special request got overridden when I added a request during online check in. I ended up not getting either my special request or my online request. So for the Jan trip, when I had a special request I skipped the request section of the online check in. I ended up getting my special request. :) For our March trip to the BC, my only request was a full balcony. Since it was an option on the online request form, I made this request during online check in and we received this request. :)
Also, since it's on my reservation, do I still need to call a few days before? Or will it automatically show up to the room assignor?

Anyone who may know the answer or have experience with this, please feel free to answer! :)
Sometime between the time you do your online check but before they assign the room, which would be about 5 days before check in, you might want to give resort reservations a call to make sure they have the room request listed. I had done a check up call about two weeks before our BC stay last March and discovered that my Magical Express reservation wasn't listed. I probably forgot to make the ME reservation, so I was really glad that I called to make sure everything was in order.

And as far as the condition of the BC - when we were there everything looked very clean. Our room was spotless and in working order. We didn't see any scuff marks on the walls and there seemed to be fresh paint in the public areas - lobby and hallways. The bronze on the elevator doors was being polished while we were there. If you find something wrong with your room, call housekeeping right away. The former occupants of our room had left their bathing suits on the balcony. We called and someone came to get them within twenty minutes. :)

thanks! 86 days!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Our tickets have arrived!!! So excited to discover we have Garden View, I though we only had standard.

There is another thread on this site right now that comments on the state of the BC rooms not being good. I find this sad if true as we will be arriving soon and have always found very high standards at all the WDW resorts we have stayed at, any one have any comments on the rooms? We are arriving at the BC in just over a week?

Also I looked on the WDW website and it states there is a dress code at The Yachtsman Steakhouse.... Is this true? I was thinking nice shorts and a polo would be ok?

I am SO excited for my trip I am also at the panic stage wanting everything to be ok, anything I need to remember or should know? Its been 2 years since we last visited.

Backtracking a little as I get ready to update the Be Our Guest list.

Thanks to everyone who answered questions over the past couple of weeks and to MickeyT who kept track of the comings and goings.

I think I was able to read most of the pages while I was away, but didn't get a chance to make a lot of responses.

One more question, can you see fireworks from anywhere at BC? This may have been answered already and I apologize if it has, but I'm curious because that would be a big bonus for most of the group. TIA!

Also wanted to add that you can see some of the fireworks from Stormalong Bay. Not as many as you see from the BW bridge or BC/YC beach, but swimming under the fireworks ain't too shabby!

There are a few pictures of fireworks that can be seen from the BC area in either the FAQ post (Post 13) or Other Useful Info Post (Post 14)- can't remember which one.

:thumbsup2

Hi Folks, just booked a week at BC - Club Level, first time at any resort on concierge. We arrive 8th September and wondered if there is any work going on with the Club Room. Also, was only able to book a standard room so what request would you make.

Thank you, great thread by the way.

Teena offered some suggestions for a room request. I would like to remind you that most, but not all, BC CL SV rooms have full balconies so if that is something your family would like, you should make "Full balcony, please" a request.

:)

Thank you! Swimming under the fireworks sounds awesome! I'm thinking this is going to be a big plus when I mention it to others in my party :) I still have to try making a Sunken Treasure, it looks yummy!

We are still months out from booking, but once we (hopefully) book Beach Club for next year I'm sure I will have more questions. This thread is so helpful and everyone is so nice! :goodvibes

Hello. I woke up to a surprise today that the 30% off was available. I immediately called to add it on to our package but there were no standard rooms available. So I made a decision to upgrade to a club level room (since we had our heart set on BC) but I had to dump the dining plan. This will be our first time staying CL but also going without the dining plan. I will be cancelling most of our TS ADRs. I am so excited but a bit nervous as well.

Still skipping around a bit...

I would totally jump at dropping the dining plan for CL! We went without the dp for the first time last summer, and I was so glad we did. We ordered what we wanted, and didn't get what we didn't want (we shared desserts and sometimes large meals) and when I did calculations after the trip, our expenses were less than if we had purchased the dp.

Love the CL breakfast!

So excited! Staying at Yacht Club for a convention the first week of August!

I haven't stayed deluxe since my Honeymoon almost 8 years ago.

I'm eagerly reading this thread and checking out youtube.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

So excited for our 2nd BC stay (8/29-9/2). We had done Poly the past 2 years, but with construction and monorail issues, back to BC for us! This is a quick trip for my 6 year old DD and I over Labor Day weekend before she starts school. We have APs ( planning a 10-14 day trip next summer), FP+ for 7dMT & A&E Meet, tickets for our first ever MNSSHP. We have 3 park days and plan to fill in as much as we can. We usually spend most of our time at MK, but we are only there one day this time with 1 day at EPCOT & 1 at DHS, so BC is perfect! Now hoping we can get a discount and stay there again next summer as well. Hoping to arrive from MCO at the resort and head to IG to activate our AP vouchers and hit EPCOT for EMH in time for Illuminations. Hoping the crowds are typical for that weekend as we usually tour with level 8 crowds, so 4/5 will be heaven!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

We are 116 days away from our 10 night stay at the beach club stay over thanksgiving 2014!!! We are so excited as we will also be celebrating my daughter's and her BFF 14th bdays as well!!! We've stayed at Beach club 3 times and have been to wdw 9 times but never this time of year so to say we are excited is an understatement!!! Any thoughts or tips about this week would be greatly appreciated and yes we got the free dinning with upgrade to deluxe and we are doing the candle light processional pkg and the spirit of aloha!!!

:welcome:

I don't think I have you on Be Our Guest list, so I will add you on.

:yay:

When does the BC/YC start decorating for christmas normally??

Sometime in November. I think that I was told that the resorts participate in a lottery each year for the order they are decorated. I don't think the guests or even CMs know in advance when exactly when the decorations will be put up and that it is usually done overnight.

Does that sound right, Teena?

:)

Less than 48 hours until we check in at YC! :cool1::cool1:

I saw a request for new pics of the room service menus and I will try to get those. Any other requests for pics or info?

Dee-- safe travels!

Thanks for the good wishes and for your offer to scout things out.

Can you look to see if there are USB ports in the room or tv?

I'll be coming along in a few weeks, so I can complete some research as well.

Have tape measure, will travel. I'm looking at you, mini fridge!

:goodvibes

Sorry if someone already answered this and I just missed it. Anyone know if there are USB ports in the rooms for charging? Thanks

Hopefully have an answer for you soon.

:thumbsup2

Also I looked on the WDW website and it states there is a dress code at The Yachtsman Steakhouse.... Is this true? I was thinking nice shorts and a polo would be ok?

Nice shorts and a polo will be just fine for the Yachtsman. As long as you don't look like you've come straight in from the pool, or have clothing with offensive language on it, you will be fine.

Here is the definition of the yachtsman dress code from Disney's website.
  • Men may wear khakis, slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
  • Women may wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans or dress shorts.
  • Not permitted are tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

Checking into The Yacht Club in 25 days! I'm so excited.. We arrive after midnight via the ME and are wondering if we will be able to grab a light bite to eat once we get in? Does anyone know if room service is 24 hours or how late we'd be able to order? I'm trying to decide about maybe having dinner at YYZ before we depart, or grabbing something at MCO when we land or maybe room service after we've checked in.... Details big and small, written & thought, as well as lists, lists, lists... are my way of life these days!! LOL! ;)

Welcome back Dee. Hope you aren't too jet lagged.

Not bad at all so far.

I was actually pretty happy with how I slept out west and in Hawaii. We had a brutal schedule Friday/Saturday (pickup for volcano tour at 7:15 on Friday, brought back to resort at 6 pm, flight to San Fran at 11 pm then flight to Boston landing at 5 pm. We all actually slept quite a bit during the red-eye, which I didn't think would happen. I was in bed last night around 9 pm our time, up for a couple of hours and then slept till after 8 am (I never sleep that late)

Have had an easy day, laundry and DISing and still feeling pretty good!

Need to start working on pictures soon!

So we need to be updated to the Be Our Guest list.

DH won't be home in October from Afghanistan so I will be moving our reservation to January once the dates come out.

May try and get the YC instead of the BC, but either will work :)

What a wonderful day back in the Beach Club lobby. Met so many Disers ... new and old friends.
