We are planning a February 2015 trip and staying at the Beach Club to celebrate my son's 9th birthday. This will be our first time staying at an Epcot Area resort and this thread has already provided so much useful information. :worship:

We are staying 2/25 to 3/2 and reserving a CL room, probably Garden View, which if I understand what I have found on these boards, is a bookable category.

We are really looking forward to the proximity to Epcot after staying the last 3 years at Wilderness Lodge (which we love but are ready to try something new).

Doing online check-in right now.

Last year when we had the same category booked, we were able to request close to lobby/transportation and upper floor.

This year I'm only offered 4 options: large balcony, upper floor, lower floor, and ground floor.

:(

We really want close to the lobby/transportation if possible, and yes, I do know it's only a request.

Has anybody else had such limited options?

We're booked in BC, Garden View.

Same for us. We are also booked in garden view at BCR. And we also want to be close to the lobby. Those where our selections as well. I just made sure we have a room request with our reservation by calling Disney. Not sure if one trumps the other or not.

I just finished a 40 minute phone call with Disney fixing the guests in my travel party--for the 3rd time in as many weeks. My travel party keeps changing on the site. Go figure.

Anyway, the CMs I talked to were great, courteous and helpful; the wait time was not, despite hearing some favorite Disney tunes (mercifully, I missed out on It's a Small World, lol).

Now I'm wishing I'd asked the nice gentleman to help me make my room requests or direct me to someone that could.

I'm not so sure I'm up to waiting that long again right now. I only have so many minutes in my cell phone plan. ;)

I guess I'll try again later.

Or maybe it's a good idea to check in at the desk when we arrive this time?

I'm not sure what would be my better option.

Welcome to the Y&BC family pld5! I am keeping up with the BOG list until our list keeper Dee returns to the mainland. (I'm actually sitting in the AKL lobby listening to African drums as I type. Life is good.) I love WL but Beach Club is our home. I'm sure you will enjoy!

Call regular reservation number and add "close to lobby" to your reservation. Then when you check-in, ask the person before you go to the room, if you got a room close to the lobby. If they say no, then ask for a room change right away ... tell them you don't mind waiting (if that's the case). If no room close to the lobby is available on the day you check-in, set up a room change the next day (if you want to).

Ours came yesterday! My daughter texted me a pic of her holding them up!

25 and counting!!

Jay

Awesome! We have 18 days til we leave. We are driving and stopping other places along the way. Then we arrive at Portofino Bay at US for 2 nights then on to the Yacht Club!

Thanks for the advice, Teena.

Close to the lobby/transportation worked so well for my party last year, I'm just not so sure I'll enjoy a different location as much. The convenience was wonderful, and our view wasn't bad at all.

Is the regular reservation number and the one I've been using (407-939-1936) one in the same or different? If it's a more direct number, I'd certainly appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. ;)

Somebody else will have to answer that question for you about the phone number. We (cast members) use a different number. Sorry.

It's sometimes a pain to room change the second day you are there but if you are there for a week and the location is really important to you, then I'd do it if your location is not available on your check-in day. You do have to pack up and store your stuff with Bell Services before 11 AM and then your new room could be available 3ish so hopefully that wouldn't be a big deal for you. It usually is okay unless you have young ones that need naps. Most people check out of their first room on the way to the parks early that morning, leave their bags with Bell Services and when they return around 4 or 5 for dinner, their new room is ready.

We finally have our dates! Oct 9-13! I'm on the list in Oct, if it can be updated. Originally it was just 2 nights, but with the fall deal we could get 4 nights in our budget! Our first F&W, first MNSSHP, first time without our kids; it's going to be an awesome second honeymoon!

Thanks, Teena.

I understand, and just so you know, I wasn't asking for the number that you use as a CM. ;) I just wasn't sure if there was another number beside the one that I've already used that would be a little more streamlined and wouldn't have me choosing or talking to an automated voice for 10-15 minutes trying to get to where I wanted.

Everyone I've talked to has been wonderful, but the wait times, not so much.

I'm sure someone on here knows the best number to use.

I use the same number as you but I don't answer any questions from the automated system. I just keep saying "speak to an agent" which makes it seem faster. There are two other numbers but they still have the same automated questions 407-939-5277 and 407-939-1896. I've used all three.

Thanks so much, cocoabean1.

When doing this, do you ask for resort reservations when you finally do get to an agent and then tell them you'd like to add a room request?

Just want to be clear so I don't confuse anyone (including myself, lol).

Don't feel bad. The cast number goes through the same thing. I love spelling my name, giving my reservation number, address, etc. to the automated thing and then when I get a live person, they ask the same stuff all over again. Very frustrating.

So excited for our 2nd BC stay (8/29-9/2). We had done Poly the past 2 years, but with construction and monorail issues, back to BC for us! This is a quick trip for my 6 year old DD and I over Labor Day weekend before she starts school. We have APs ( planning a 10-14 day trip next summer), FP+ for 7dMT & A&E Meet, tickets for our first ever MNSSHP. We have 3 park days and plan to fill in as much as we can. We usually spend most of our time at MK, but we are only there one day this time with 1 day at EPCOT & 1 at DHS, so BC is perfect! Now hoping we can get a discount and stay there again next summer as well. Hoping to arrive from MCO at the resort and head to IG to activate our AP vouchers and hit EPCOT for EMH in time for Illuminations. Hoping the crowds are typical for that weekend as we usually tour with level 8 crowds, so 4/5 will be heaven!
