Question on the campfire and movies for anyone who has done it. My kids really want to do the campfire/movie this year. Have been too busy for this in the past ;) For planning purposes, does the campfire and marshmallow roast last up until the movie starts? The campfire starts at 7 while we are there and movies at 8:30. Just trying to figure out if we get there at 8:00 or 8:15, can they roast some marshmallows and then get to the movie? Thanks for any help on this!
I would love to know the answer to this as well:wave2:

We have 2 nights this weekend YC CL booked. I just noticed that a standard BC CL room opened up…not sure if I should switch??? Is there a huge difference between the two? I've stayed YC CL before and enjoyed it. I'll be traveling with 2 more adults and their 2 girls (6 and 8). Their seasonal APs will be blocked so we'll just be using the pool and maybe watching fireworks at MK via Poly at night. Thoughts please!! We check in on Friday!

That is AWESOME and I too shall file that away in the "You're gonna be so sorry" file.

Another thing I LOVE to do when transporting herds of teens in the Ninjamobile is to break out in RED LIGHT DANCE PARTIES!!

If I am driving that means I am in control of the radio so I get to pick the tunes. Usually it's some cheesy party anthem from the 80's playing.... When we come to a stop at a red light I roll the windows down, blast the music and start dancing in my seat like my butt is on fire. My kids are in on it so they start seat dancing as well, leaving the unsuspecting friends in a quandary. Do they join in the fun and start dancing or do they sit there with that stunned and embarrassed look on their faces as other drivers stare at us and our seizure like dance moves? As soon as the light turns green we stop dancing, turn the volume down and proceed to drive safely.

If the teen friend is a good sport and dances they get cheered on by us and they get dropped off right at their house. If they refuse to join in on the fun and sit there stone faced I drop them off a block or two from their house and yell out the window as I drive off that they had better come up with some dance moves otherwise they are going to be doing a lot of walking. Usually though everybody gets it and lets their inner Elaine Benes out during these red light dance parties.

Both of those are classic. Another is if you don't say I love you back when you're getting out of the car, I will roll down the window and shout it until you say it.

Hello, Y&BC lovers! I hope you are all having a great summer!

My apologies if this question has been asked and answered many times - I did a search, but couldn't find this specific topic.

We have decided to book either Yacht or Beach Club for our next trip, and the only category available is standard. I'd prefer to upgrade to garden, but no go. We love both resorts, prefer the room decor at BC but the overall feel of YC (love the dark woods in the lobby and the quieter ambiance).

At which resort do we have a shot at getting a better view with standard? I know to expect roofs or parking lot, but I wondered if there were more...well, for lack of a better word, lol...ugly views at one over the other? Does one resort's standard rooms have a plus the other does not?

I'm having a hard time making a choice, I thought having this info might push one over the top.:teeth:

TIA!:goodvibes

This is the view I'm scared of getting at YC. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=50984406&highlight=yacht#post50984406

Parking lot, fine, roof top, fine, this, no good at all. We're staying SV CL and am hoping for anything but this.

Sounds great! I'll keep what I have. We have a SV CL booked but I only requested to be near the elevator. We have 5 of us so we'll have to be in a room with a daybed so we'll see what we get! I'll be checking in around 8:30am to enjoy the breakfast and then heading to DHS before SAB opens so I can get two little ladies Frozen dolls since their seasonal APs are blocked!

I'm going to Disney THIS week!

You must be going nuts!

You should hear some of the things I yell out of the car window... but yours is a keeper for sure!

I am down to hours! Our flight leaves NJ at 6am Tuesday. We will stay at a hotel at the airport tomorrow night. I think i am done packing. I do need to work tomorrow for a bit so I had to get most of it done today. The weather here. For the next few day is going to be horrible. JetBlue sent us an email to see if we wanted to change our flights for no fee but we are going to take a gamble and stick w our flights. Hopefully we can get out ok!! Off to see Mickey! :cloud9: :cool1:

Good Lord, that is brilliant. I am putting that in the 'to be used' file.

Another highly effective punishment (at least for my kids) is to break into spontaneous dance in public places. If we are at the mall, or a restaurant, and they are being, well, teenagers, I simply get up and start busting out some lovely 80's moves. The result is immediate and very effective. :>)

Who says you can't have fun with your kids these days???

And if you're at the mall, pick up a shirt for yourself to wear from Justice. And wear it the next time you take your tween shopping. This probably works better if you have a daughter. Bonus points if the shirt has a giant smiling panda with a handlebar mustache.

Five weeks and we'll be at YC! My mom picked up the military salute tickets today and I was able to add them to the Disney app easily enough. It's been a while since I traveled to the world without a toddler. Worried I'll be so focused on what I don't have to bring, I'll forget something important.

I requested a room near the club lounge, since it's the opposite direction from that view. When I check in, if I have room 5238, I'm just going to ask for a different room. It's absurd that anyone staying at the YC would get that view.

jcondrad, conrats in the A&E fast pass. I think my jaded 11-year-old is the most excited about going to that one.

Thank you! My 5 year old doesn't know about the trip yet but she'll freak out once she knows!

Room 5238 is the reason we upgraded to GV! I did not want to chance getting that room!

I received my survey request regarding a recent BC stay and want to complete it and recognize exceptional CMs. If I don't recall a specific name of one of those CMs, is there any other way for that person to get credit?

The one CM I'm having name problems with was at the front desk and checked me in and helped with specific requests. I really want to recognize her; I think I remember her name, but I'm not positive. There are others, who I do remember, luckily.

Help, please...I haven't received a survey in awhile and really want to participate.

We have a party of five, so we had to go with SV. I know they had deluxe rooms at BWI that slept five, but I wanted YC/BC. I can't remember if the deluxe rooms were all taken or if they only slept four.

OMG - 4 days!!! Nettie - I can't wait to hear all about it. Wishing you the most magical trip EVER!!!!

Thank you, Robyn!!

We're actually going down Thursday and staying at the Hilton DTD (yay points) for one night beforehand.
