Hey NateBenMa, and anyone else who might travel from Yacht/Beach Club over to the dark side (Universal) in the future-- there's a special about Wizarding World of Harry Potter-Diagon Alley on NBC tonight (Monday 06/30/14) from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm Eastern time.

Thank you! Just set my DVR!! We are going to the dark side for 2 nights 3 days (loews royal pacific) before we head to disney (BC)! This might help me decide how to use my extra morning hour in the wizarding world of Harry potter!!!!!

Our ressie was at 745 and we requested a window table when we checked in. She said it wasn't guaranteed and we might have to wait longer and we agreed. We sat one table away from the window and the view was great and they piped in the music and turned the lights down.

The resort tried set hours for SAB for a short time, but I believe the closing time now varies based on crowd conditions, weather, etc, at the lifeguard's discretion.

I don't think the pool would close any earlier than 10 at the end of August and might possibly be open later, but I'm not sure there is a way to know that right now. When I am there in mid August, I will try to remember to ask.

Hearing all of these things really makes me sad I love YC/BC for the theming, location, pool, all of it. I have been hearing mixed feelings about Disney CL generally lately, but sadly a lot of it is at these resorts. I stayed AKL CL just 6 months ago and received responses to all emails within 24 hours, usually the next morning. They gave us beer and mimosas freely all day, bottled juices, milks were available as well as canned pop to take and go. They really hit it out of the park with the service and unique offerings (including a bday surprise). Now I am afraid if I stay CL at YC it will tarnish my view of the resort! lol. Maybe I will just stick to eating at epcot and ordering garden grocer for these.

Should be BEST MEET EVER! Of course it will be hard to to the "Nanny Shower"! It will be great to have "Real Dee" - although "Flat Dee" will never be forgotten! And what a treat to have one of the "BC/YC Dis Meet" charter members - YCFAN! And Rebecca - it's time we FINALLY meet up!

This is going to be a fun meet and my first!

We just completed the Disney post-vacation survey. Give high scores for everything, except our studio in the BCV. It was old, outdated, built for a handicapped person, with very little storage space. The view and the location was great, though. On our next visit we will stay at the resort, but never again in the villas.

We've stayed CL at AKL three times and it has been absolutely fabulous each time. Is Wayne still there? He is just wonderful with the kids. My first trip with my son, he saw that we were total newbs with pin trading. He gave my son one to start since he didn't have any. And he was always ready with little treats for my kids. This is our first CL stay at YC/BC. I wonder if these changes are just at this resort or if they will roll them out at all resorts. The only time I saw true lounge hogs was at the Poly. And it was pretty bad. Behavior overall was embarrassing.

One thing to check if you haven't heard back from IPO is to see if the email went through. I was getting frustrated that I hadn't heard back and then discovered gmail never sent the email. It was in my outbox. I didn't know I had an outbox. I resent the email and had a response within an hour. It could also be dependent upon who is checking the emails at the time. Still looking forward to our trip. Every time my kids whinge about the heat, I tell them it's good practice for August in Florida.

NM - I'll be slathered in sunblock so I can avoid the lobster look. My kids are lucky to have all that Greek blood. They'll be nice and browned by the time we get to WDW.

I've only seen pictures of AKLs pool and the pictures seem blah ... We might have to a dinner there to check it out in person this trip!

AKL is my home resort... special place for that resort... The pool is nice though it is no storm along bay... there are many other things I love about AKL resort! I have upcoming CL trips to CR, YC and AKL. I've never done CR before, but have done both YC and AKL I hope whatever is going on is worked out before I arrive at YC CL in November!! The beauty of Disney World is the selection of resorts.. something for everyone!! For me it doesn't really matter where I stay as long as I'm at Disney World, although I do prefer CL and love the Epcot area for sure!!

First time staying at BCV (so excited). Trying to figure out my budget for my trip, although I don't why I am not going to stick it...LOL. I digress, sorry. Is it appropriate to tip Mousecleaning, and if so, how much?

One evening we are going to drop the kids off at the Sandcastle Club so we can get a drink - is there a large beer selection at the Crew's Cup lounge?

I read about the truffle fries and I really want to try those. We like variety in our beer (although we are not huge IPA fans) and were thinking about Big River Grille but it seems like the lounge may be better choice.

Quick question--- my fam and I are staying at the yacht club in August. My sister doesn't know it but her boyfriend is going to propose to her on vacation. He wants to do it the first night we are there but we aren't planning on going to a park that day. His idea was to get a photo pass photographer to capture the engagement when she thinks they are just getting their pic taken. I've read there is a photographer at the beach club. We are already going to purchase the memory maker. How does this work? Does it cost extra money? Does he set it up now? Any info would be great or a number to call.

Afterwards he wants to have a surprise dinner with both families at either Il Mulino or Captains grille. Any recommendations?

The engagement surprise sounds very exciting. But they aren't usually any Photopass Photgraphers at the Beach Club. I think you can arrange a photographer to come out for a special session, though.

Are you staying on a cash reservation or did you rent points from a DVC member? If you made your reservation through Disney you'll get daily mousekeeping, the same as if you were in a regular resort room. But if you rented points you only get mousekeeping every four days, I think. I guess the tip would depend on how often the room is cleaned.

The food at the Crew's Cup is about 100 times better than at Big River Grille.
