What themes did or do you collect that you did not mean to?


Well -- I have (too) many themes. But as an example, I collected Pirates/PotC.
Well of course that covered Capt Hook.
And when collecting Hook, who gets in the "ALL About Me" picture? Ms Tink. And some were so darn pretty and sparkled...
I didn't collect Tink. But before I knew it had a few hundred Tink pins. Seemed the pirates theme took a backseat.
So now I only collect Tinks I really like.

And I started with sorcerer Mickey/Fantasia as a theme. Before you know it, I had hundreds of character pins, from Fairies to Donald. And I don't collect character pins.
And if I collect Minnie, the other Disney gals seem to follow.
Hence, hundreds of $ later, I try to remain FOCUSed.

Um... everything except Pluto!

I started with primarily Fab 5 with emphasis on
Pluto... and Disneyland specific pins...

now I've got a section devoted to Goofy,
an entire book devoted to Mickey and Minnie
a page for Dopey and Grumpy
several pages for Aladdin and cast

as far as rides go... I started out with just
the favorites at DLR... matterhorn, splash,
a few pirates, etc... now I have major
pirates, major HM, all the "land" type pins...

Trying to stick to things primarily from the west coast
I also tried to eliminate WDW pins from my
collection... but found that futile!

Luckily I've been able to avoid the princesses
and Tink all together, and thus far the villains
as well... but I'm in trouble since the pin cruise
theme is villains!

pin collectors creed: (lord, give me strength to resist
the temptation which I cannot afford, the ability
to only purchase what I collect, and the wisdom
to know the difference - if I falter, please feel
free to send the next lightning bold in my direction!)

I narrowed it down... I went for almost all when I started now I am going after Disneyana Convention (still need a few) and I like the WDW event artist choice. I was doing Xmas pins till Disney came out with 9,000 a year...

I did not mean to collect Tink, but somehow she slid in there, but I only collect Tinks that I think her face is very pretty or she is doing something "different" (not just posing)--like trapped in a lantern, or with a thimble on her head, etc.

I started collecting Jiminy, and somehow, Pinocchio also slid in there, because some of the Pinocchios were so darn cute.

Started with White Rabbit, but once again, Alice can be so pretty, so I added her.

2 years ago at the September event, I added Eeyore so I would have something to trade for since my collection was more narrow then, but I haven't been actively pursuing him for a while and may get rid of the ones I have.
