I'm a annual pass holder and I was wondering, how long does the parking lot stay open after a particular park closes? I was planning on keeping my car in Disney's Hollywood studios and going over to Magic Kingdom via disney bus to maybe buy some time versus driving myself. Would it be worth it? Would really appreciate more info about this if anyone has any =)

If you're asking will you have time to go back to Hollywood Studios to get your car after Magic Kingdom closes, the answer is yes.

I guess the question in my mind is not how long would the studios parking lot be open, but will there be a bus from the MK back to the Studios? Are they closing at similar times, or is MK open later that night? We have never relied on Disney transportation so that got me wondering.

A method to get the guest back to his/her car will be provided.

That said, if I were going to drive to the parks, I'd drive between the parks as well.

No, magic kingdom closes at 12am and DHStudios closes at 930pm

Or, park at the Magic Kingdom, head directly to the bus loop, bus to DHS, bus back to Mk.

Agreed. I would park in the lot of the park that's open the latest and/or the park that I am going to be at when I'm done for the night. It's iffy on how you would get back to DHS parking lot from MK. The monorail wouldn't be running, normal DHS buses wouldn't be running. Sure, you can get a courtesy bus ride just to take you back to the DHS lot, but your request would be low priority vs. many thousands of park guests exiting MK at the close of that park. DHS and AK are the two parks that close earliest. I would not leave my car at either to pick up at the end of the day from another place. I have parked my car at MK or Epcot and traveled between those parks on the monorail.

I might also have a day where I visit DHS, then go to Epcot when DHS closes. In that case I would park at Epcot, walk thru Epcot to the International Gate, take the boat to DHS, then exit DHS and walk or boat back to Epcot.

I am now thinking about parking at Epcot and going over to MK due to the fact that I will end up at Epcot when I go down. I don't have to move the car

Depends... If you want to be at MK very early, like at rope drop or morning EMH, park at MK lot and take the monorail back and forth to/from Epcot. At Epcot close, monorail to the TTC, which is also the MK lot. I've done it your way and also the way I just explained.

Hmm, am I confused? I didn't know you could take a bus from one park to another, has that changed? thank you

WDW has always provided park-to-park transportation.

(Until recently, any transportation to/from MK required an interim stop at TTC.)

But, below is the most current info:

There is "direct" transportation between all the WDW theme parks.
The frequency of departure for each is approximately every 20 minutes, give or take, all day long.

Most routes are via Disney Buses.

Here are the "park-to-park" Disney Transportation direct connections:

MK> Epcot = Monorail to TTC, Switch to 2nd Monorail to Epcot
MK> DHS = Direct Bus
MK> AK= Direct Bus

AK> DHS= Direct Bus
AK> Epcot= Direct Bus
AK> MK= Direct Bus

DHS> MK= Direct Bus
DHS> AK= Direct Bus
DHS> Epcot= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.

Epcot > MK= Monorail to TTC, Switch to 2nd Monorail to MK
Epcot > AK= Direct Bus
Epcot> DHS= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.

The buses have their destinations shown on them on illuminated signs.
The bus stops at the parks are also marked with signage.

As a rule-of-thumb, allow 40-60 minutes to get from the gates of one park to the gates of another park.

Thank you, Robo, I never knew this! Hmmmm, I am glad to find out something new today...I will be sure to print this off and stick it in my binder. So, to do this, I just look for a bus NOT to be in the numbered spots for the resorts? Also, is there one from AK to DTD? Again, thank you so very much:)

So, to do this,

1- I just look for a bus NOT to be in the numbered spots for the resorts?

2- Also, is there one from AK to DTD?

1- The bus "queue" info is listed on the signs as you approach the bus plazas at the parks.
The bus queues for these routes ARE in numbered stalls, just like the resort routes.

2- They ran a test of this route awhile back. I don't think it remains in operation.

To get to DTD from AK, take a quick bus from AK to AKL. Then board the bus to DTD from there.

Thank you Robo and POOHsie, I will be sure to do this, shoot, I don't want to lose "any" time...I am not there long enough this time to experiment with travel:)
