We will be visiting in July this year. We have not been since 2019. I am curious as to what the entry process looks like including security and bag checks. Are there still temperatures taken? Is it all automated now? Is it the same for each park? Anything new regarding strollers other than having one under a specific size? Thank you for any info you can provide!

Yes, temperature checks are still in place. They are done by Advent Healthcare as you approach the entrance to a park. The check is done by workers with handheld thermometers that they point at your forehead. Bag check is now done by automatic scanners you walk through. Everyone, bag or not, walks through the same scanners. You'll need to take significant metal objects out of your bag and hold them as you walk through. Failure to do so will flag you for further inspection, where someone will need to look in you bag. I removed my water bottle, but left my small battery pack in the bag and was fine. I've heard umbrellas also need to be held as you walk through, but no firsthand experience there, since I've never taken an umbrella to Disney. The only time I got flagged was the one day I had my glasses in my bag. The glasses case triggered the additional inspection. My experience was pretty much the same for each park as far as temp check and security. Can't speak to the stroller question, since I don't have a need for one.

Even with the addition of temp screens the process is soooo much easier and quicker now. You pretty much keep moving the whole time. We went last month during a slow week and never even encountered any lines. We had an ECV/scooter which might be the same as stroller? The ECV was not able to go thru the security scanner and was waved thru directly next to it where security quickly poked around in it to check. Not sure if strollers are the same.

Do they have a hand-screen area for those who can’t go through the automated screener? I asked in another thread when these first were being trialed but no one had an answer. I have medical devices implanted that can’t go through this type of screener.

Yes they do

It's much less time consuming and MUCH easier now to go through security. Temperature screening is first...in white tents just like the other poster described above. You should hold batteries, metal water bottles, and umbrellas in your hand and stick your hand out in front of you as you walk through.

One thing to note about strollers is that you pull off to the side and carry all bags through the screener, and kids need to come out and walk through too. We didn't realize that strollers weren't just pushed through our first day at the parks, so we had to juggle a bunch of different little pouches with diapers, raincoats, masks, snacks, etc. We were more prepared the next days with all our stuff in a reusable grocery bag until we made it through the screener. It's so easy and much quicker than it used to be!
