Thank you very much for sharing. Really appreciate the time you put into this forum.

Hi FF,

Would you mind sending me the link that you used to research the menus? I am very meticulous about how I eat and would love to see the options available. Also, are you doing the meal plan or not? I am now questioning it since 1. the food, and 2. the fact that the parks close at 7pm.

Does anyone have any input about the meal plan now with hours being cut back?

Does anyone have info on what time the restaurants open for lunch?

Thanks for any input.

Take care,
S

LOL You caught me before I changed my post. I am trying to be less negative.

I am not sure if it is ok to link to the site, if not let me know and I will remove the post right away. http://allears.net/uni/menu/menus.htm

The short hours and the food choices tend for me to shy away from the deal. (If it came with a drink it might be different.) Does anyone know how much a Hamburger normally costs in the park? It might be an ok deal for my husband but he tends to eat less when out in the heat.

Normally if the link isn't allowed, it will be blocked out with ***********

We did the Universal dining thing one time and not sure we would do again. Because the lines were so long to get food. It would be much quicker imho if they had a separate counter to sell wristbands/explain the meal plan and another counter to checkout people that already had the wristband. But maybe this is their plan to limit the amount of food you can get lol.

Sorry about the question regarding opening time...found it on Universal's site.

So...ummm:confused3...did Universal change the meal deal since '08? Only six places are on the meal deal?

Yup...only three at IOA and three at the Studios. There are much better restaurants to try at both parks.

I would love to hear your opinions on where to eat, and the approximate cost of the meals there. :)

Hey FF,

I did a search last evening for "meal deal," (I believe) and threads came up with responses from others who have visited the parks recently. They had good info and some prices. Here are the threads:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2510088&highlight=meal+deal

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2437905&highlight=meal+deal

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2505166&highlight=meal+deal

What I got from the posts:

1. Average meals are about $8-9 and can be split with another person if you don't eat much.

2. Louie's is one with much mentioning (this is on the meal deal) and one of the sit-down restaurants...cannot recall right now...probably in one of those links above.

3. If you are a AAA member, this gives you 10% off many places even "snack" foods in the park and at some places in/on City Walk.

4. The Top of the Walk (in/on City Walk) has many options for variety and for, maybe (:confused3), price (?) with Moes, make your own Whopper, Panda Express, and others (http://www.universalorlando.com/Citywalk/casual_dining.aspx?ComponentId=3764&SourcePageId=7805#3).

Hope this helps some.

Well...since you asked so kindly..... ;)

At IOA, I would suggest Mythos for table service and Thunder Falls Terrace & Comic Strip Cafe for counter service. Mythos is fantastic but a little pricey. TFT and CSC are both really good and the atmosphere is excellent. You could possibly share a plate since the portions are sometimes too much for one person.

At the Studios, I would go with Finnegan's for table service and Louie's for counter service. Finnegan's is an Irish type pub and the food is outstanding. Louie's had never served me a bad slice of pizza or salad...plus I love Italian food.

For the table service restaurants I mentioned, I usually pay about $10.00 for an entree and large drink with my AP discount. So you would probably be looking at $12-$15 per person w/o any AP or AAA discount. But again...you could share a plate if needed.

Mythos is probably going to run you $20.00 + per person before any discounts.
